I entered at high noon on a weekday and was surprised that there was only one other customer. All the other tables were empty. The aromatic scent of pho filled air. Did they also serve pho at Club Sandwich (I didn't check the menu) besides burgers and sandwiches? Or was the aroma from Pho 95 two doors down? I decided what I wanted to order, but there was a problem. There was nobody at the counter. I waited maybe four minutes to see if anybody from the back would come out to take my order. But nobody came out. I was hungry and didn't want to wait any longer, so I just left. Club Sandwich could at least have a bell on their counter to get somebody's attention if they aren't going to man the counter.

Everytime I eat here my chicken is either too dry or the skin is too flabby... not crispy at all. The Yucca and other sides are the only thing that save this place. Their sauces (which are pre-packaged) taste so odd... almost like they belong on a salad and not chicken. If you grew up eating Peruvian chicken then you know exactly how you want your sauces to taste like and Sardi's sauce really miss the mark. They have a huge fan base, regardless of what I've said here; maybe they love it due to nostalgia, but the Alexandria location is not it!!

From the moment we walked into this Peruvian Chicken spot we were flooded with great smells and big greetings from the staff. The menu was huge and had everything from Charcoal chicken; lamb chops; kabobs and much more. A staff member who had already greeted us asked if we needed help choosing. He gave us a run down of his favs and even let us sample the roasted Brussel Sprouts and freshly cooked plantain! And wow my taste buds did quite the dance. If you ordered chicken and sides everything was ready; however the pupusa; empanadas; wings and a few other items are made to order but only take about 15 minutes. From the staff cooking; fixing your food; order takers all the way to the cashier. The customer service was top tier and the food was even better. Everything was hot and fresh. My suggestion.... Get the half chicken with rice and black beans; roasted Brussels and plantain. Oh and grab a black bean and cheese pupusa for a late night snack! You won't be disappointed. We don't have a Sardis in Richmond but I'll def be back in July!

Most of this operation appears to be take-out. We placed a pickup order online and it was waiting for us by the time we showed up. We ordered two small chicken bowls and one "feast mode". The "feast mode" size was actually challenging for three people to finish! The "hive sauce" tastes like a honey mustard with maybe mayo? It's pretty good. I really wish Flavor Hive would have additional toppings - just cucumber tomato onion cilantro etc are quite minimal. Would be awesome if they could add something like beet salad or beans! The value at this place is excellent compared to the numerous other rice / slop bowl places in the area. It is a lot of food. This place went viral on social media for a reason, and it lives up to the hype.

Only one order (check #88) was provided at pickup. The second order (check #87) was never given to us, despite being paid for. When I called the phone number listed on both the paid receipt and from Google, I did not reach the restaurant. Instead, the call was answered by a male individual phone comes up from Vienna and did not appear to be affiliated with the restaurant staff on-site. This alone is unacceptable. The individual who answered was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Multiple witnesses overheard the conversation, which has been documented. We were not initially seeking a refund -- only verification of the missing order and whether it could still be picked up. There was zero effort to assist, no accountability, and no urgency to resolve the issue. This level of disorganization and lack of customer service is unacceptable for any restaurant. If Flavor Hive continues to operate this way -- including routing customer calls to unprofessional third parties -- it will absolutely damage the business and its reputation.
