Stopped at Hitch King to have an RV propane tank refilled. My tank is a 7.5 gallon tank that…read morealways takes about 7.1 gallons to fill from empty (I've had it filled dozens of times). Propane prices right now range from about $2.80 to $3.20 across the entire US (which I've just driven - filling up along the way), so my tank always costs $20-$23 to fill from empty. The owner walked out to the propane shed, hooked the filler up to my tank, opened the valve, and started filling. (He didn't open the bleed valve on my tank at all - which would show when my tank was getting full.) He kept the doors to the filling station almost closed, and kept his body between me and any view of the meter. I moved aside to try to see the meter, and he moved again to block me. After a couple minutes, he shut off the pump, unhooked the fill hose, and closed the doors - being apparently extra careful to not let me see how much was dispensed. "That's thirty bucks even," he said. "We only take cash." and held out his hand. I handed him $30 cash, which he put into his pocket. No cash registers, no receipt, (and therefore probably no taxes paid.) When I got back home, I confirmed that my tank was about 2/3 full, so I paid $30 cash for about $15 worth of propane. Shaaaady.

This is a solid choice if you want drop-off wash and fold. They will also deliver your laundry to…read moreyou for an extra fee. The ladies who work here promise to have your laundry done by 4 pm if you drop it off in the am, and they deliver on that. They used to charge $10 a bag, which was a bargain, but that didn't last forever. It went up to $12 a bag and is now by weight only. They charge $1.50 a lb with an 8lb minimum, with each bag weighed separately. Six bags of laundry (a whole month's worth) cost me just over $100, which was $30 more than on the older cost scheme. But it is still more affordable than the other drop-and-fold (the one near the strip club). If you wan to wash your own clothes they have machines there that you can use and you can request a code to enter the laundry after hours if you register as a regular local customer. No matter what, you have to pay in cash and give your phone number when you drop off your clothes. They text you updates as each bag is finished.

The ladies were very pleasant. You can bring your own detergent and dryer sheets if you prefer. We didn't. We did some tourist stuff and had lunch then as we were finishing they texted and said it was ready. It was 20.00 and I could not have been more pleased. We will definitely go back before we leave key west.
