Our poorest residents get charged an additional dollar every day because they are deemed uncreditworthy or lack the wherewithall to pay monthly. If only one person out of 30 Ashe county residents uses the pay-as-you-go "flex pay" option, then Blue ridge energy rakes in approximately $365,000 a year from our very poorest residents. They should be ashamed of themselves, particularly since that is essentially subsidizing charging stations for electric toys. Shame on you.

John and his team were at my door at 8am the next morning. Even though he'd brought along a replacement pump, once he pulled mine out of the well, he realized that it was just the wiring, not the pump that was the problem, so fixed the wiring instead of replacing the pump, saving me a ton of money. He also cleared the pipes in my laundry room and gave my washer a thorough cleaning out and tightened all the screws and bolts. There were no extra charges for calling on Christmas, the service was lightening fast and super friendly and I will never use another plumber. On another occasion, Kahle Plumbing replaced my oil monitor with a gas monitor and replaced all the pipes to connect the new heater to the propane tank. As I had come to expect, the work was done quickly, cleanly and and by two friendly faces. Kahle Plumbing is top notch!

Their customer service is not good, and you get a lot of running around and being placed on hold. I purchased a new home that had AmeriGas tank, and was going to use their services until I kept getting the runaround. It was even a 20 minute phone call with two different associates and multiple times on hold just to have a pick up request completed. I would recommend Appalachian energy. That's who I chose to go with and it's a family owned company.

When I called them on it they made excuses saying their system wouldn't allow them to change it. After many calls they made an effort, but it was obvious they didn't feel any obligation to honor their word. Last week they notified me there was a "technical difficulty" that kept them from filling my tank. Later they sent another notification saying they couldn't find my tank. This is after years of them filling it. So far I've called 3 times. (It sounds like you are talking to a call center in India). Each time they promised to come out on Tuesday and promised to call before. They lied all three times. I still haven't heard from them. Stay away from these people.

Ray Wright Local Guide·17 reviews…read more 4 minutes ago New I contacted Freeman gas and spoke with a sales associate for Superior gas which is the parent company. They were very friendly and gave me a good price. I had them do a credit check so I can open an account and start the process of replacing my current tank and having a new account with him. After a week, no one had contacted me from the local office to come out to do a site evaluation. I then contacted my representative at superior, who then had someone from the local Freeman office contact me, his name was Tony. He promised to follow up with me after I emailed over the current terms at superior gave me, and he was going to follow up to come out for a site valuation. Tony indicated to me that the price that was quoted in the email is probably not a correct price, but he said he would follow up and get back with me. That never happened! I'm very frustrated with having a credit check run to open account, and never open the account. I would've never had that done if I had known or customer service was so bad. I have contacted several propane companies in the area and most, if not all seem to have horrible, follow-through, or communication, or access to live people. If you want a good propane company, that's family owned and provides customer service along with great prices. Contact Appalachian Energy. They're wonderful, and that's who I chose to go with.
