Surprisingly we had a full fridge in our room. Nice! But it sounded like a freight train all night.. The breakfast was not great. The selection was very scarce. Bananas old and spotty. One type of yoghurt, one type of milk, one type of bread, sick looking breakfast sausages and patties, no hot water for tea or oatmeal. It was the total opposite of another Holiday Inn Express we stayed the night before. There the breakfast crew was friendly and attentive, made sure the containers are filled up once empty. In this hotel, the breakfast crew existed of one female staff member in grey jogging pants, hair messy, put up with a clip and sunglasses. We ate breakfast at 9am. Breakfast times 7-10am. At 9:15 the staff member stopped refilling items. She simply removed the pans and turned off the light. The hotel offers a laundry room for $2.00 per load/ dryer. Make sure to bring quarters.

While there were other hotel options that caught my eye, I knew Home2Suites would have what I'm looking for: spotless rooms with a comfortable bed, a mini-kitchen area, great breakfast, large exercise room, and a modern/snazzy lobby area with plenty of space and electronic sockets. That's exactly what you get here. Plus the room also has a large comfortable couch where you can plop down in when you're exhausted. The staff is uber friendly and they cleaned my room every day. Reservation included free breakfast, wifi internet, and parking, which were MUSTS for our NOLA stay! Now, we knew we'd be driving in to NOLA (since the hotel is in Boutte) and didn't mind that. However, we weren't expecting a 35 minute drive! I'd called the hotel to confirm its distance from NOLA and was told 15-20 minutes, which was misleading. It was much farther from the main tourist attractions. I was also told that the breakfast included hot eggs, breakfast meat, and waffles. We did not get those items, but instead had a continental breakfast. When we asked about that, one of the staff members let us know that when the hotel doesn't have a lot of people, they don't make the hot breakfast items, but that if we asked, they would make it for us. I was a little disappointed but appreciated that we could ask for the items. Those were the only two minor complaints I had about my stay. Everything else was WONDERFUL. Checking in and checking out was a BREEZE. This hotel is very new, and still has a new smell to it. The rooms and facilities are beautiful and super clean, and our beds were sooooooo soft! We slept like babies! I mean, I sank into that bed and fell asleep in a few minutes! Our room was a Deluxe Double and came with two queen beds, a microwave, mini fridge, and oversized bathroom, which was great! The manager bumped us up to a handicap accessible room so that we had more room during our stay, and we really appreciated that! The hotel was nice and quiet. I really, really liked it. Whatever housecleaning sprays smells horrible. We had to go out and get our own air freshener to overpower it. The worst part was parking. Our whole stay was a fight for parking because four huge charter buses dominated close to half of the parking lot. They never moved. This should not be allowed by management or corporate. One night we didn't get a spot and had to park against an unmarked curb. We noticed one truck parked in the grass next to the highway. Totally not right.
