Lots of blue tarps, destroyed or closed buildings. Our room 408 was spacious, and looked overall clean until I laid down in bed and looked at the ceiling fan. Super dirty- yuck! Surprisingly we had a full fridge in our room. Nice! But it sounded like a freight train all night.. The breakfast was not great. The selection was very scarce. Bananas old and spotty. One type of yoghurt, one type of milk, one type of bread, sick looking breakfast sausages and patties, no hot water for tea or oatmeal. It was the total opposite of another Holiday Inn Express we stayed the night before. There the breakfast crew was friendly and attentive, made sure the containers are filled up once empty. In this hotel, the breakfast crew existed of one female staff member in grey jogging pants, hair messy, put up with a clip and sunglasses. We ate breakfast at 9am. Breakfast times 7-10am. At 9:15 the staff member stopped refilling items. She simply removed the pans and turned off the light. The hotel offers a laundry room for $2.00 per load/ dryer. Make sure to bring quarters.

I'm 6'3" 215lbs so to be able to enjoy a shower is so rare. The staff was friendly too, especially the manager on the way out. We didn't have the continental breakfast, but it sure smelled good! For the price and quality I was very surprised and happy. This was my first trip to New Orleans and the hotel was one of the best parts for me!

We informed the staff the toaster did not work, was told it would be fixed/replaced as the employee took it to take care of, but they came back and never said a word. Everyone just milled around an open space where the toaster once sat with their bread, bagel, etc. finally just sitting down with it all cold. No water available. All staff comes across as disinterested.

This was recently at your Gonzalez, Louisiana location…read more Me and my sister and her three kids were coming to stay at your location due to a family funeral. We get there after driving straight 7 plus hours since 12am that following night /morning. We were all super exhausted. Get greeted and given four room keys having our stuff in hand go to our room to rest until said funeral at 3pm the time now was almost 750am. As we enter our room immediately my sister goes and takes a shower. While me and my niece go to finally lay in one of the said three bedroom beds available there were two queens and a pullout for couch in living room. My niece feels a bite almost instantly on her arm then both her legs, a few moments later I feel bites on my arms and legs as well. I tell her to get up we turn on the light open blinds I use my phone to look. And to my shocking surprise I see black dots everywhere on the top sheet then comforter then pillows and mattress. Even checking the living room pullout even more of them there. We then determined it was bedbugs we immediately tell my sister who comes and looks herself. She calls downstairs to inform front desk of the situation very displeased. The manager is at our door almost instantly and brings an employee with her. They go straight to the bedroom where they inspect never once acknowledged if we were okay. The manager came out with employee and said let me see your so called bites quite rudely I might add and honestly made us feel very uncomfortable in doing so. We eventually show her and she was like its not bedbugs you're just stressed due to the funeral and the long drive from exhaustion. She then went on this long informative session about bedbugs cannot be black they are red..umm excuse me I looked it up they can be both! The manager continued to deliberately talk over me and my sister and niece which we all found outright ridiculous! The manager said we can put you in another room and she said another excuse of it being their laundry detergent. Again never once fully apologizing for our horrible experience so far. The manager in my opinion was belittling and very unprofessional at her job you are supposed to take care of your customer, not sit there and basically make them feel like you're telling them the problem is non existent. We ended up getting a full refund I did a small statement which the manager looked over then glared at me and rolled her eyes at. Again very unprofessional and outright rude! We will not be returning to this location ever again!!! You need to get retrained to get your head out of your ass! Treating customers like this is unacceptable!!! Might I also add we are elite members and have frequented many locations in past and have never once had the experience we had here before.

Couldn't say the same for the front desk women. They'll have personal conversation and will not greet you until they were finished. Then ask "do you need assistance" our very last day we were supposed to move into another suite with a hot tub. The previous guest checked out at 12. We didn't get into the room until 3:30pm. Also another thing was this hotel has a huge bug problem. That needs to be treated. OUTSIDE. By the pool and sitting area. The janitor guy who cleaned and treated the pool was very nice and friendly guy. Thanks for having it up and running. Also the manager I don't remember her name was sweet. She offered to change our room on the last night after we thought we had paid for a suite with a hot tub. Make sure you call and if you want the king suite with the hot tub.

The jacuzzi suite we stayed in had a full fridge, sink, stove top, and toaster, and stocked with a couple of plates and silverware. The jacuzzi was bigger than I expected, and made us feel like kings and queens of the interstate exit in La Place. It helped kick off our Fourth of July vacation weekend. A review below had me nervous, stating that there were bugs everywhere at this hotel. I did not encounter any bugs in the hotel during my stay. There was only two kinds of toiletries items in the bathroom-a generic bar of soap for face and body, and a bottle labeled "conditioning shampoo"- so, don't leave it up to chance, go ahead and bring your own soap and shampoo. I also like how they will do a late check out as late as 2pm, we did not need it, but that's nice for those who want to sleep in. There's a gas station/truck stop across the street with plenty of beer options, casino, and restaurant for the party animals out there.
