If you're staying for a conference, the full kitchen is a huge plus. There is a grocery store less than a mile away. The room comes equipped with plates, bowls, utensils, pots, pans, etc. If you don't have something you need, a call to the front desk and they'll likely deliver it to you. Monday - Thursday they do a little wine (and beer), cheese, and bread session in the evening. The breakfast in the mornings isn't amazing, but it's a free breakfast and will do. The staff were all friendly. The gym in the hotel was fine. While this hotel was .7 miles away from my conference, it was an easy walk back and forth each day.

It's actually very well decorated and super clean. The room was wonderful - love that there is a legit kitchenette with a microwave and all. The bed was super comfortable and had such a great stay. My only gripe is that the breakfast buffet was fairly lackluster. While I'm grateful there was breakfast included, it was actually kind of hard to get staples from the breakfast buffet. There were a lot of carb options (bread, muffins, cereal) but not too many carb-conscious/protein options (eggs, etc). The made-to-order offerings are a nice idea, but in practice, it always caused a big crowd just milling about for a while. Also, I noticed that they don't replenish items very quickly and their containers stayed empty for a while. I will say the quality of the baked goods and made-to-order was very good, from the little I was able to obtain. The gentleman in the kitchen was wonderful and such a peach. Definitely need to exercise caution on the stairs. They are steep and not well lit. Not conducive for schlepping luggage up and down. As a negative: the TV is in an extremely awkward position making anything but standing watching nearly impossible. Also, zero coffee or filters in the room. Again, not a big deal. Plenty of coffee spots nearby. Also, the restaurant downstairs, (Silk Road) is very accommodating and very friendly. We didn't stay to watch TV or drink coffee in our room. The good definitely made our stay enjoyable. I'd recommend staying here to my friends and will come back next year.

Let me start with the good: our room was huge. 2 bedroom, 1 bath, washer, dryer, full kitchen , dining room and large living room. They are genuinely very nice -- clean, spacious, and easily the best part of the stay. But that's where the "resort" feeling stops. The pool is maybe 10x10, and the hot tub fits two people... as long as nobody stretches their legs. The "continental breakfast" looked like someone ran to the Walmart bakery, grabbed a couple boxes of pastries, and set them out on the patio next to some folding chairs. Definitely not resort-level anything. And then come the fees. Checkout is 10 AM, which is way too early for somewhere pretending to be a resort in a tourist area that the main draw is the nighttime activities. They also charge extra for late checkout -- $50 for one hour, and $100 per hour after that, which is outrageous. They even charge for the basic room keys if you misplace one-- the same blank, cheap credit-card-style keys every other hotel gives you for free. Overall: loved the space, loved the location... but the fees and policies really take away from the experience.

Within approximately 20 minutes of checking in, I checked back out. The room I received had no window, which I was not expecting, and the shower had white residue throughout the floor/area that made it appear unclean and unsanitary. I was uncomfortable enough with the condition of the bathroom that I did not want to stay in the room. I immediately spoke with the front desk and asked to change rooms. I even offered to pay for an upgrade if necessary. I was told there were no other rooms/options available and that there was nothing they could do. So I left and paid for accommodations elsewhere. The part that really changed my opinion of this hotel, however, was what happened afterward. Airbnb informed me that because the reservation had been designated nonrefundable, I needed the host/hotel to approve reimbursement. I contacted the property directly through Airbnb, clearly explained what happened, and requested reimbursement. No response. I followed up several days later. Still no response. I understand what "nonrefundable" means, but there's an enormous difference between changing your mind about a trip and arriving at a property, immediately raising concerns about your room, asking the hotel to correct the situation, offering to pay for an upgrade, being told they cannot accommodate you, and consequently leaving within 20 minutes. Even if management ultimately disagreed with my request for reimbursement, the professional thing to do would have been to respond. Instead, I paid for a three-night reservation I essentially never used, had to find somewhere else to stay, and my attempts to address the situation afterward have been ignored. If you're considering staying here, I would strongly recommend confirming exactly what type of room you're receiving--including whether it has a window--and thoroughly inspecting it before settling in. I personally would not return. The room itself was disappointing, but the complete lack of follow-up after I raised a legitimate concern is what ultimately makes me unable to recommend this property.

My room was clean and comfortable and had a lovely character. I stayed right at the end of March and checked out just prior to the start of Mardi Gras weekend. I had booked last minute and so I had a delay in checking in when I arrived to find the front office closed. A quick call to the number listed connected me with Gary, who is very kind and accommodating (and who I was grateful to have additional conversation with before my state was over). Gary explains that they were short-staffed and it would take a few minutes for him to walk from one of their other properties. As the location was safe and well lit, I had no problem taking a seat and enjoying the sounds of the French Quarter while I waited. Check-in was quick and I was excited to find that my room was just off the street -- literally my doors and windows were inches from the sidewalk. Now I know what you're thinking, that sounds like it could be loud with walking tours, roaming the streets at night and tourists walking after an evening of libations. In truth, I hired plenty of conversations pass by the front of my room, but they almost all ended before it got too late, and I had really fantastic sleep in my very comfy bed. If you are a very light sleeper, then I genuinely believe that the room I stayed in would not at all be for you, but I really enjoyed it as someone who doesn't mind a little bit of City sounds to lull me to sleep. The room had plenty of other basic amenities and the bathroom was bright and spacious. I even enjoyed a bath a couple of nights in a row! The price was very fair, the location was excellent, the historical character was great, and it even looked like there was a food delivery/room service option available that I did not take advantage of. If I could give this place any critique, it would be that I would have loved to have had a little mini fridge to store leftovers and save a few bucks on food. Otherwise my stay was perfect!

Amenities are few, coffee & tea available in the morning from 7-10am (no decaf), housekeeping is only on an as requested basis, the onsite Tiki bar, Latitude 29 is fun, very dark inside, but the drinks were good and our server Alec was very accommodating. My husband and l enjoyed having freshly brewed (strong) coffee available every morning right downstairs. However, we were there for three days, and other than one late afternoon, we were never able to have a hot (or even warm) shower. Even after bringing it up to the manager, nothing was changed. It seemed once housekeeping arrived, and started laundry, little hot water was left for the guests. Maybe we just had a bad room, but it made for a very uncomfortable trip considering NOLA was also experiencing record cold temps in the 30-40°F.
