I was really interested to see how this venue would be, it seems like it has mixed reviews. The show I went to was 10 stars- all the way! I saw Joe Kay and Tim Tones and it was an amazing party that went until three in the morning! So I have no complaints at all about the sound, the vibe, the lighting, and the big LED screens -- all that stuff was good :) Really only two things I didn't like about the venue-- they don't provide tapwater. I think that's lame. You have to buy a bottle of water for $7. People should be offered free water. They're dancing, they're sweaty. That might require them to drink more water and they shouldn't have to pay $7 a bottle to stay healthy & hydrated. Like if people want bottled water, of course sell it to them, but I didn't want bottled water. I just wanted a cup of ice and tap water and they will not give you that. I also don't like the bathroom situation with the "attendants" that are in there. It just reminds me of like old time grimy club in Tijuana, where you have to tip them to get a towel. What is that about? So anyway, I had a great time at the show. The drinks were priced as you would expect. I had a Tito's and soda with lime for $17, that tracks plus it's Vegas -- all drinks are expensive. I didn't love the place. I didn't hate the place. I give four stars and encourage the management to give people free tap water.

Cool venue downtown. Saw Joe Kay last night and he was killer! Ive only attended one concert so far but really impressed theyve booked ppl like Troyboi, Jauz, Habstrakt, etc. Tips: move your gum and other stuff into your clothing and bring earplugs. Security was nice but threw my gum away and didnt let me grab some pieces before. Rest of staff was nice and bartenders were nice and attentive, they gave me earplugs when i asked. Waterbottles only. Cocktail portion generous and not bad think it was $15 Love the screens and lighting but sound could be better improved. Its a smaller space so Speakers seemed blown out sometimes and too loud. Earplugs made it 100% better. But even though it was small it wasnt overcrowded. And it was Nice and cold in there. Bathrooms were clean and a lot of stalls so us girls didnt have to wait to pee! Overall just wish they made the stage more elevated. Would love to see them host more intimate artists it would be perfect for a smaller rock band/up and coming artist.

If you followed heavy music in the late 90s and early 00s you assuredly saw Sevendust, and 28 years since I first saw "Black" played live in Toledo these guys are still touring relentlessly. At least my 11th show across 5 states and 3 countries. First rock show at Substance on Fremont and the venue sounds great. Sure Fremont Experience is a shitshow, but if you want smaller bands at smaller venues you gotta go out and support.

Stepping inside felt like walking onto a sci-fi movie set--massive LED walls, a sleek bar, and energy that hits you the moment the bass drops. I caught Walker & Royce live, and the visuals were next-level. Pro tip: go VIP for the clean, private bathrooms (totally worth it!). If you're into high-energy nights and mind-blowing sound, this place delivers.

A friend and I attended An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live at the House of Blues…read morein the Music Hall at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on May 24. We were in town to attend the BTS concert on May 23, so this was a last-minute decision. As such, there were only five seats remaining for the May 24 performance. I ended up with two non-adjacent seats in Section 204 for a total of $831.85, purchased through TIcketmaster. We dined at Caramá by Wolfgang Puck, which is close to the House of Blues. We left the restaurant at 6:30pm, thinking we'd walk right in as our tickets "said" 7pm. Instead, we found a long line of patrons winding around the venue, almost to the escalators to the tram station. There was a sign stating that doors open at 7, performance at 8:10pm. Sheesh, had we known this, we could have taken our time in Caramá. After passing through security, we could go to the merch line or into the Music Hall. We opted for the merch line, where we picked up a t-shirt and a bag of guitar picks. Entry to the Music Hall requires walking down a set of stairs to the floor level and then up several sets of stairs to get to the upper level. Section 204 is accessed by walking down from the upper-level aisle. My friend went down to row B, seat 14, which was the aisle seat on her row. I was three rows back, in seat 12, the third seat in from the aisle. Each seat gave us unobstructed views of the stage down below. I really liked sitting in the upper level ... I think we had better views of the musicians than those sitting on the floor. There is a bar at the front of each side of the upper level of the Music Hall so one could get a drink without having to go back downstairs. Each did brisk business throughout the evening. Carlos and his 8-member band played for two hours. He took very little or no time between songs, but he did chat with the audience on two occasions. During this performance, he had a second keyboardist (I didn't catch his name) to the right of guitarist Tommy Anthony. His drummer, Cindy Blackman Santana, is a whirlwind ... She played nonstop during the evening with explosive power and energy. She was amazing! I really enjoyed his concert, maybe a bit more than the BTS concert the night before. Sacrilege? No, Santana has been active for sixty years. He is legendary ...It was a "not to be missed" opportunity to experience one of my heroes growing up. On a personal note: Carlos used a PRS Private Stock 24-fret McCarty Singlecut Trem with 23k gold leaf applied over the maple top. It's a stunning piece of art. PRS made twenty copies in 2016 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Private Stock team. Alas, I want one! If you have an opportunity to see Carlos Santana, do it! The Music Hall in the House of Blues is a perfect venue to experience a legend. Highly recommended!

But it was no warmer than 60 degrees on the main floor. Maybe colder. I get that it's 110 degrees outside but I'd rather be in that heat for three hours than freezing my freaking ass off. My friends agreed they were chilled to the bone. The cheap folding chairs (I mean... have you seen the ticket prices? REALLY??) added insult to injury.

The last show I went to at the venue was said Maylene and the Sons of Disaster show in what I believe was May of 2024 (I'm catching up on venue reviews). The venue itself is a decent enough size and mostly consists of standing room only, though a few chairs for what I assume is ADA are usually lined up against the wall. The sound here was always solid enough and I don't have any complaints over that and the merch area was tucked away enough in the back that it didn't get in the way of the show itself. Overall, Backstage Bar & Billiards is a solid little venue that consistently has pretty decent shows. The staff here always did what they needed to do, and my only real complaint is that I wasn't able to score Green Day tickets here when they did that special show, but either way, it's a solid enough venue.

Originally when I first started coming here, parking was a huge issue on my mind and it definitely made me come here less, before I discovered that you could get parking validated at the little shop before you leave and that was a total game changer. The venue itself is pretty massive once you get on the main floor, and if you don't feel like standing during bands you don't care for, you can even chill on some nice chairs and watch on TV screens. Now, I can't actually comment on the bowling or food aspect of this place, but you can bowl for an insane amount of money that is definitely not worth it, as well as order some food which I simply never bothered to do. My parents and I had a concert to get to, so my mom simply asked if the food would come out quickly. Instead of responding professionally, he said, "This isn't McDonald's." There was absolutely no reason for that comment. A simple, "We'll do our best to get it out as quickly as possible," would have been enough. Then he started throwing in his own unnecessary opinions about how you need an ID everywhere to drink and carry one with you. Nobody argued with him about that. It was completely irrelevant and came across like he just wanted to lecture us instead of doing his job. To top it off, I asked how big the brisket sandwich was, and his response was, "I don't know... a sandwich." Seriously? That's your answer? So while my entire family was eating, I was sitting there with nothing. When my mom asked where my food was, Antonio said he thought I didn't want it because I had responded, "Okay, that's fine," when I asked about the size of the sandwich. That wasn't me saying I didn't want it--I was simply acknowledging his answer. Instead of admitting he misunderstood and apologizing for not putting my order in, he argued with me and insisted that's what I meant. A server going back and forth with a customer over his own mistake is completely unacceptable. At that point, I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was actually great and did everything he could to fix the situation. He admitted that Antonio has been a problem and immediately had my food rushed out, and even took it off our bill. I genuinely appreciate the manager for trying to make things right because he handled the situation professionally. Unfortunately, by then the experience had already been ruined because of Antonio. One thing that made this whole experience even more ironic was that the employees were wearing shirts that said, "Be Nice or Leave." Maybe Antonio should take his own workplace's advice. If anyone needed to "leave," it was him. That attitude has no place in hospitality, and if that's how he treats paying customers, he shouldn't be representing House of Blues. I work in the Forum Shops myself, and I would never treat a customer the way Antonio treated us. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, not making rude comments, arguing with customers, and acting like they're an inconvenience. Antonio was rude, snarky, dismissive, and looked miserable the entire time. I honestly don't think someone with that attitude should be working in customer service. This was, without a doubt, the worst service I've ever experienced.
