The shuttle service itself was good, they showed up on time and were professional. However, the billing process is VERY sketchy. I reserved the shuttles a few weeks before my wedding and didnt have a lot of other options. Patrick requested to send my credit card info over email which I didnt love but I went through with it. I wish I had listened to my gut because suddenly there were two duplicate charges for the same amount on my card statement. After the wedding I emailed Patrick and he told me he would reverse the duplicate charge, however this never happened. I finally disputed with my credit card company and Subshuttle sent documentation to them trying to say the charge was accurate. I then had to reopen the dispute with my credit card company and give screenshots of my email with Subshuttle, etc and now 3 months later the charge is finally reversed. I also emailed and called Subshuttle 4 times in the last couple months and just never got another response back. I would advise to look elsewhere for shuttle services unless you want to be disputing charges for months. read more

While the people working there are lovely - the business practices are not good. I used this service to get several people to/from a meeting with multiple airport times and a shuttle for the entire group. The biggest issue has been with invoicing. I have repeatedly asked for receipts, and when I get them, they do not match the amount charged to us. Then I asked for corrections and again had to ask repeatedly and only got a response to some items. I was double charged for a significant expense and had to ask several times for the second charge to be credited (I am still waiting; it has been a few weeks). One bus was not entered correctly; I was told substitute vehicles would be there in 10 minutes - they took an hour - and then I was charged quite a lot for the change. I felt once they had my card on file, they just charged it randomly, and receipts (when I got them) rarely matched. It's been a few weeks, and I still have not straightened it out. That aside, the meeting attendees complained about late cars (as in close to an hour late), having trouble connecting with drivers using the number we were provided, drivers who could not locate airport pick-up locations, dirty cars, and one driver who made a female rider very uncomfortable by taking an exit off a dark highway late at night and saying he had to stop for gas. Also, while the driver gratuities were included in what was billed to me, some of the drivers were pretty aggressive in hinting they should receive additional tips, so I'm not sure if they were trying to double dip or if there are problems with tips I paid making it to drivers. Overall, this was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Despite multiple emails and calls, my billing is still not cleaned up. They had reasonable pricing compared to the other location I called, but I would never use them again. read more

Somehow my wife lost her engagement ring, the driver found it and reached out to the coordinator with a picture of the ring. I contacted them and we found a place to meet. No issue with actual service as drivers showed up on time and bussed our group to and from the venue. Major problem with billing. We contracted for 2 busses but were billed for 3. Subshuttle was notified several times of this error and they promised to refund us. Difficult getting to speak personally with anyone. Finally decided to report to credit card company and provided all the supporting documents. Subshuttle didn't agree. We had to appeal again to the credit card company to follow up. Took a lot of work on our part to get this resolved and have credit card reverse the charge. Should have looked at Yelp reviews first as after the fact we read others had saved experience. read more

SubShuttle was a great asset to our wedding day! Patrick was easy to work with and went above and beyond. He was very knowledgable about our venue and helped us make a great shuttle selection to accommodate the windy roads. He spent the time to also do a site visit with the team and made sure everything ran smoothy. There were a lot of considerations and complications with the venue (one lane roads, narrow bridges, etc.) and the team followed the transportation plan diligently. They successfully shuttled 150 people with three 15 passenger vans between 4 different locations in a very timely manner. Patrick's way of doing business has an informal feel, but he is very professional, responds to questions quickly, and has clean vehicles. His drivers were on time and very friendly and professional. They took extra care to make sure they didn't leave any passengers behind. A purse and phone was left in one of the shuttles and the driver reached out right away to make sure it got back to the right person. Good service in person, but the credit card processing is not PCI compliant and sketchy. They ask you to write your card information in full on a document and email it back - I said I would need to call it in. The problem with that was, they accidentally charged me for someone else's shuttle in addition to my own. I had to repeatedly ask for an invoice or line item receipt to try to match up the additional charge, and I also noticed I was sent someone else's invoice in addition to my own. Their accounting and recordkeeping is not professional. Now I've been asking for a refund for 3 weeks and I'm told every time that it will happen later today - I have asked via email and over the phone. My most recent email threatening to dispute the charge has gone ignored. I have disputed it, but a word to the wise - I see other reviews that mention accounting problems with this company and I would recommend you avoid the headache and go with someone else! read more

Since this was last minute, we only had a few days to get everything planned out. He did a great job and exercised a lot of patience with the last minute changes. Up to a couple of hours before the wedding, we needed to change one of the drop off addresses. To top that off, the party was so much fun it went past the scheduled time that the bride and groom were delayed at the end. Not a hint of stress from them, just patience and accommodating. Contract stated 34-46 passengers per trip with two shuttle busses, only provided one shuttle and an SUV with a maximum of 22 passengers per trips. Never provided proof of payment, receipt or invoice. If I could give 10 stars for this review, I would! Was in Santa Cruz for a work offsite, but had to leave a day early to get back to Alameda to take care of daughters who were ill. Knew that Uber drivers were going to be tough, so tried a shuttle service. The front desk highly recommended SubShuttle, and she was right. Patrick was fantastic. I ideally wanted to get a shuttle within the hour, and he came through. He actually moved a few things out of his own schedule and drove me himself instead of one of his drivers! The car was clean and the service was excellent. The drive was smooth - taking the coast to avoid the hill and horrendous 880 traffic. Patrick was a pleasant conversation along the way as well. I had such a wonderful experience with SubShuttle! Usage: I hired SubShuttle for two separate round-trip trips to shuttle high school students to and from camp sites in Northern California and Santa Cruz. Communication: I used the main e-mail and got a response from the Owner, Patrick. He was very prompt in his response and extremely accommodating for our trip needs. We had a quick phone conversation to make sure everything was squared away. Payment: When my check didn't arrive on time (I submitted the request to work a bit late), Patrick gave me a call and we took care of everything over the phone. The ease of payment and communication was great! The Shuttle Buses: We used two 12 passenger vans and oh my are they nice! They're super clean, they look brand new, high ceilings so you don't feel enclosed sitting in the van, and thank goodness for the air conditioning! For our first trip, Patrick even brought along an extra SUV for Staff in case we needed it! Drivers: I was lucky to work with Patrick for one of the trips and he was a blast! He even stopped at a lookout point to allow students and staff to get a glimpse of the view and take some photos. The other drivers were really nice, too. They were all so friendly to our students and even let them play their own music! Route: We got lost a few times on of the trips and one of my staff had to use their own phone for GPS because the driver's phone wasn't working. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you're going to a remote location. Timeliness: For both trips, the shuttles arrived about 15 minutes late, but there was some traffic and it wasn't too big a deal. We ended up making up for the time en route. I will definitely book SubShuttle each year for our trips with students. SubShuttle is affordable, has friendly staff, really nice vans, and top quality customer service. I'm even hiring Patrick to shuttle my guests for my wedding in a few months! His company has definitely found a repeat customer. We used subshuttle for our transportation to and from a wedding at Camp Campbell in Boulder Creek and Subshuttle did a great job! I was nervous since I was not going to be on the shuttle to coordinate but they did a great job, were on time and didn't miss any of the guests. Patrick went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable that everything was handled. Our guests were very grateful for this shuttle to and from the redwoods on Highway 9, a dark, twisty and rather dangerous road, particularly for out of town guests who are not familiar with the road. read more

I recently stayed at the Chaminde resort at Santa Cruz, I left early one of the evenings to go back home to the South Bay. 2 Uber drivers canceled on me after making me wait 20 mins and finding out that I am going outside Santa Cruz. While I was enquiring at the reception if there are any taxi options, Patrick who was also at the reception by chance offered to drive me home 45 mins in his Chevy Suburban. He had no incentive to do it, I didn't have to pay him either, he just helped out a stranded guest at Chaminade.
