On a more recent occasion, I ordered a variety of pastries and the eclairs shell tasted the same, as if it was stored in the freezer for a while and they just add fresh filling when it's time to sell. The whip cream filling wasn't tasty. Disappointing. The sfoglia pastry was large, delicious and fresh. The lemon squares were tiny, fresh and tasty. The price for the size was ridiculous though. The cannoli's still taste delicious, this is the only thing I've had from here that's been consistent in quality over the years.

New review coming your way on Spring Basil, also in Alliston. We stopped by after our car was done. W O W!!! The place is very small but has delish baked goods , fresh home-baked breads (the butter tarts are literally to die for!) and a hot deli counter. As we waited in line, I watched with happy amazement how Rose (a.k.a. #8 in the line of Rocco's sisters) was the main entertainment with her vivacious, exhuberant, down-to-earth personality. She treated everyone, including us (a gay married couple) like we were the most beautiful people in the world. When it was our turn, my partner told Rose to go ahead and make whatever sandwich was her own personal favourite. Rose was so touched by this and was in her glory as she stuck a few pieces of fresh roasted porchetta in our hands to try so that was what she made us. The porchetta sandwiches are unbelievable. Rose added some of their own sauteed chipollini onions, home-made peppers and home-cooked marinara sauce to the sandwiches...amazing. What an eating experience! Thanks Rose (and Stephanie)...we are happy to be a part of your "family" now.

On New Year's Eve, it's a tradition in our family to go to Boston Pizza for supper…read more We went on December 31 around 5:00 PM. There were only about 15 people in the dining room, so we expected reasonable service. When we were seated, we were told there would be a wait because the kitchen was backed up, which we were fine with. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. Timeline: 15 minutes for drinks 25 minutes for appetizers from when we placed the order. 37 minutes for our main meals from when we received appetizers. (1 hour and 17 minutes total) Drinks: Our Diet Pepsi was completely flat -- this happens almost every visit. Appetizers: Cold but still edible. Main Meals: Both steaks were overcooked, cold, and rubbery Fries were cold Vegetables were so under-cooked and cold that the garlic butter didn't melt Garlic mashed potatoes were also cold Overall, the meal was terrible. When our server checked on us, I explained what was wrong. She didn't respond, so I asked for a discount, which she did apply. She then explained she was the only one working the floor and they were short-staffed. I also spoke with the manager, who brushed off my concerns. She insisted the Pepsi was fine and said the discount was enough compensation. I later emailed her and have still not received a reply. This entire experience showed me that customer service and food quality are simply not a priority at this location. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

The people they DON'T cut off is ridiculous, I had 3 different guys walk backwards and fall into me while sitting at the bar because they were so intoxicated. The place wasn't even packed for a sporting event they were just over served and kept around for the drunken tip at the end of the night. I'm down for having a few drinks with friends and closing the bar out but when people are falling over, Then you gotta draw a line in the sand. 2 Stars for fast, friendly service and clean establishment. Hope you guys clean up soon

Hate to knock a Canadian company, but people need to be told when a restaurant's service is poor --…read moredespite the place being almost empty when my wife and I arrived at the Alliston location around 7:00PM on a mid-September Wednesday. Enclosed patio was pleasant and main reason for our choosing St Louis for our first restaurant meal in months as a relief from continuing and necessary Covid restrictions. Bad choice! Menu document (no pictures) stated it was one-time-use to prevent the spread of Covid -- but had been laminated for multiple use. ("Hurray! Covid's 100% finished!") We should've got up and left right then. Food choices typical for a franchise (wings, burgers, ribs). Obviously, as is the case with most chain restaurants, the food was prepped in advance, as evidenced by the chewy boneless wings in our order (which came with sauce and fries). The food arrived hot but was served in a plastic bowl on a small sheet of waxed paper. However, the paper soon went soggy, which meant you end up eating pieces of it along with your food. Regarding the service, we asked our server for ketchup and extra napkins but they did not arrive until we were nearly finished eating. Bill ($52.00 with tip and tax sans booze) seemed high, but our server had disappeared inside the darkened restaurant, never to return, so we could not easily request an itemized receipt. First-time visit but will not go again.
