I bought a used Subaru Outback one year ago and was assured that all was good with the car. Six months later, I had to get a new oil pan, struts and brake pads. Then I discovered that the attachment for the roofbar was nofunctional. I recently went to Subaru Keane because my car slipped into a drain and stitch, and I wanted them to check it for damage. I suspected that the wiper fluid reservoir had been cracked or punctured because when I went to fill the tank with gas, there was a large pool of blue fluid growing by my front left tire. I thought I had been clear that I was checking for damage specifically related to my accident. An appraiser from GEICO was going to meet them to look at my car. They sent me a list of things, including my front brakes that needed to be fixed, and I assumed that that had to do with damage from my accident since I had just had my rear brakes replaced and my front brakes brushed And cleaned. They apparently were going to do that again maybe everything got dirty from being in the ditch, but they're telling me that this had nothing to do with the damage from the accident. So I wound up with a huge bill and my insurance isn't gonna cover any of it. I'm disappointed. I found the service to be unclear and I'm not sure why my front brakes need to be cleaned again after I just did that about two weeks ago. They also did not replace my reservoir tank and they are assuring me. It is not cracked. I'm not a mechanic, but I am concerned because I watched a puddle grow, and it was bright blue which to me says wiper fluid. I may not return to them again for service. They've always been polite. No disrespect to the workers at Subaru, but I felt I was pretty clear about my reason and my intention for visiting Subaru and a text with a bunch of videos that I don't have time to watch with a long list of repairs did not give me the answers I needed. I'm marking them down not because their work is bad but because when I had an accident and I went to them, they were very unclear with me. And I feel like it got spun back on me because they had sent me video footage, which while teaching I didn't really have time to review. read more

The dealership should generally be your last stop for auto repairs. They are not price competitive for routine maintenance such as oil and brakes. They also have no reason to form a relationship with the customer since desk personnel are not car people, and the grease monkeys turn over often and have no stake in the business. In short, take warranty and recall work to the dealer (watch the upsell!) and all else to your local mechanic. This Subaru location has given me no cause to change my opinion of dealer service departments generally. So. Three stars for: free shuttle service, decent waiting room, and, well I can't think of anything else. This is based on three visits. read more

My tire light came on today just outside of Brattleboro and instead of turning around, I knew I could trust the repair folks at Keene Subaru to handle my tire problem right away. After I drove into the service bay, Josh tested my tires right away. Three were just below normal, but while testing the fourth, he discovered a nail in the tire and immediately arranged for me to check in and sit in the waiting room while the mechanics plugged the hole. Two days later I cancelled the warranty, expecting the $2,000 I paid to be refunded to financing. Here we are three months later, and it still hasn't been refunded. Well I don't have a lot good to say. We came to Subaru of Keene to address an air bag safety recall. During the visit, we were told that the right front brake caliper pins were loose. They wanted $165 to address the issue. I declined because the brakes had just been worked on and I wanted to take it to the folks who did that work. The car was driven home (not by me) and when it arrived, I noticed that the ventilation system wasn't working properly and one of the switches was hanging behind the dash. I called back and was told they would check with the tech who did the work and we arranged for another appointment to get the issues addressed. In the meantime, I took the car back to where the brake work had been done and they couldn't find anything wrong with the calipers. I also reviewed the paperwork I received from Subaru of Keene and there was no mention of a brake issue (though other needed repairs were listed). A few days after the visit, I got the feedback call. I explained what happened. I was told that I'd get a call back about the mysterious brake issue. That return call never happened. A couple of days before the scheduled service for the dashboard issues, I called to see if I could move the appointment. Service wasn't available but I was told I'd be called back. That didn't happen. I called later in the evening and got sales. They said they'd leave a message for service to call me first thing in the morning. That didn't happen either. I called later in the day and got service but ended up keeping the appointment. I did the follow-up visit as scheduled today and was in and out in 10 minutes. That part was nice but also frustrating to think that because a tech didn't do his job properly, it cost me altogether about 4 hours of my time (returning to the other repair shop, phone calls, additional trips, etc.). All in all, I think this was a pretty crappy experience. I got a nice apology for having to drive back today but that was about it. read more

My Impreza would not pass inspection due to a code in the computer - no check engine light. My mechanic said he had no information and it would need to be looked at by Subaru. Called and told them what the code was. We can't do anything over the phone! Our techs have to look at it. And that will be $60 please. Scheduled a 1 hour visit to diagnose the problem. Arrived at 8 for the appointment to check the code. Over an hour later, the nice young woman came out and said it was ready they were just wrapping up. 10 minutes later I saw it driving away. It is getting a car wash. I was told. I did not want it washed, I replied. It's complementary, she said. Then I find out the code is nothing. It means the battery died at some point. AND they had a whole list of things they could fix for us. It cost $60 and 2 and a half hours - I live half an hour from Subaru - to find out there was nothing wrong. If they wanted to complement me, they could have valued my time and money as much as I do and done what I wanted them to do. I would have paid the $60 and been less upset if this took me 15 minutes instead of an hour and a half! read more

They wouldn't budge on the price even though it was thousands above blue book value, such as, 5,000 over. The manager was very unpleasant to deal with. No thank you. There's lots of other car dealerships that will help you with a smile! Would not recommend. Could have been friendlier and more helpful. They haven't cleaned the plexiglass between customer and employee, ever. It was covered in dust. I didn't see any hand sanitizer, or a trash receptacle. I will most likely never step foot in there again and I hope you don't waste your time either. I can't believe this is owned by the same people who operate two other great dealerships. I was told it was just a failed part and it must have been a coincidence that it failed immediately after having my tires replaced. I decided to trade my Honda CRV last summer when I saw all the great deals being offered and I realized with my Honda reaching over 100,000 miles it was time to think about trading in. I was contacted through text and e-mail from local Dealers about the inventory and incentives being offered. Matt from Fenton contacted me and made an appointment for me to see Craig at Subaru of Keene. I started with this dealership because I work in Keene and it is so convenient. Even with COVID this was the best car buying experience I have ever encountered. Craig was ready when I got there, took my car out for a drive to evaluate for trade in value. When he came back we discussed what I wanted, he printed out a quote, with trade in value and I was on my way. A few days later the color I wanted was ordered and when I went back to look at it Jason Kennedy was the Sales Rep who Craig assigned to my account. Jason is exceptional and even though I am older and not as tech. savvy as I would like to be he was very patient and went over the car and answered all of my questions. This car is awesome and I love it, especially blind spot and cross traffic detection. Service link allows me to start my car through my IPhone. Jason followed up with me a couple of times and answered a couple of questions. I called service because my tire pressure light came on and they told me to bring it in right away, I had a nail in the tire, they fixed it and I was on my way. Salesmen were friendly and easy to work with but the woman at the service desk was rude and insulting. She certainly could use more training in customer service! Came here with an appointment to get the new car inspected and prepped.I had never been to the service shop and for some reason she was mystified and clearly disgusted that I did not know enough to leave my registration on the front seat, and that I didn't immediately know which paper in the folder filled with new papers was the actual registration. Such an attitude!! Not helpful in the slightest, just kept saying "haven't you owned a car in NH before"? She was also obviously peeved with me that I did not know the mileage off the top of my head. They sure never treated me this way at Valvoline!! Better step up to the plate Subaru!! A friendly email reminder saying what to have out and apparently where to put it would be great instead of being condescending to your customers and expecting them to know everything in advance. To add insult to injury, after they inspected the car they told me that they could not find their technician in order to detail and prep the vehicle. And that I would have to come back. Again. When I was in the waiting room I overheard one of the service attendants tell a couple who had waited for two hours for their car to be repaired that they were very sorry but they could not find their detailer - what does that mean? I called Subaru of Keene to have a safety recall done on my Subaru Legacy. It's an airbag recall and the notices in the mail said "free repair" and " free loaner vehicle". NO WHERE on the notice did it say " free loaner ONLY IF YOU HAVE FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE". As we live in NH car insurance is not a requirement for older vehicles. I have a 2004 and I do have car insurance. Just not full coverage for an older vehicle. I was told that I could not get a loaner vehicle without full coverage insurance. NOT COOL. And honestly not fair! I have 2 children and a house to take care of and cannot be sitting at a car dealership for hours waiting. My youngest is autistic and can't be left for long. I could understand if the mailing notice said something about the insurance issue, but it is nowhere! This recall is a pretty dangerous issue and it sickens me that they would rather send me off without the fix then to just work with what I have available to me. I now need to find somewhere else to get this safety recall done with people that can work with me to make my Subaru as safe as it can be. So disappointed. Never going here again!! read more

Over $7000 dollars for a used Subaru Forester from Keene Subaru that lasted less than 3 years! We purchased the car and one year later we took it in for a check up. $2000 later and it leaked oil (it had NOT been leaking oil before the "repair"). Another $250 only 3 days later! Then after 2 weeks of trying to get them to own the oil leak we were told we'd need to spend another $1800. No way! We limped along with that 2 Qt a week oil leaking car for 2 years before it finally died and was towed away for scrap metal in 2016. Beware this repair shop! read more

We had a gas tank leak and brought it to explore what to do and were told that there was no leak despite the strong smell. We had to have someone change the tank because it was a safety issue. We tried them again for idiot lights after auto zone ran the code. Now they want to say it is the gas cap.they discounted the printout and my husband's over 40 years of industrial engine and commercial unit experience. We will no go back nor buy anything from any Fenton dealership. They even charged us for the diagnostics and told use to get a Subaru cap. Rude and condescending behavior. read more

You decide for yourself but I wouldn't send my daughter or wife to this place for repairs. My daughter was having problems with her forrester - the car keeps blowing a fuse that causes the windows and speedometer to stop working while driving. Our local mechanic could not find the problem. The battery and alternator were tested and found not to be the problem. Nobody could find the solution - something keeps blowing the fuses. Our mechanics suggested that we might want to take it to a subaru dealer thinking that it may be better to have a subaru expert look at the problem. The car ended up in Subaru of Keene. When she went to pick up the car they told her that the problem was the battery and alternator were bad so they replaced them both - charged her over $500 for repairs. When she got in the car to drive it home from the dealer - the windows and odometer still did not work. (Seriously - they didn't even test drive the car) She went inside to inform them that the car is still broken. They sent a mechanic out with a fuse and replaced a fuse saying we think this might be the problem but we are not sure. When questioned if it was only a fuse why did you put a new battery and alternator in the car. They had no answer, and when asked for the tech report showing the alternator and battery were bad, they said they usually do one but didn't have one for this car. The GM told her that if she leaves the car they would do a diagnostics test to try to find the problem but they would charge her for the labor to do the test and then any repairs it might need. Why didn't they do the test to begin with? Again, only my opinion but I wouldn't trust them. Find a different dealer for service. read more

While traveling home from vacation our 2009 Forester had a sudden tire pressure issue. Since we were only one mile away we pulled into Subaru of Keene. We were met immediately with the service manager who took our car in right away. Within 15 minutes we were back on the road, with the issue resolved at no cost to us. I love my Tri-State Subaru in Somersworth but would recommend Subaru of Keene in a minute. read more
