So we had to try it! I was not disappointed! I had the strawberry shortcake which was a gluten-free and dairy-free ice cream, which was divine!! Could've ordered another one even though I ordered a mini size but it was like a regular waffle cone. I didn't try the other flavours but they had some local and unique flavours. Free testers on a real tiny small spoon with a hatch along their counter to put your dirty spoon through! It was super cool and inventive! Try their ice cream if you're in the area! I would've gone back here but we were staying 20-ish mins south of this area which was out of the way for the remainder of our trip, sadly.

It's right in the middle of all the shopping and food, surrounded by other dessert places, but this one definitely stands out. Their ice cream is made in-house, and it sounds like they rotate flavors regularly, which is always a good sign. I went with a double chocolate flavor, and wow--it was phenomenal. It had that perfect balance of sweetness with a slight rich bitterness that real chocolate lovers will appreciate. I'm pretty sure there were brownie chunks mixed in too, which made it even better. Everything tasted fresh, super creamy, and really hit the spot. On top of that, the shop itself is small, cute, and sits right on the corner--perfect for stopping by while exploring the area. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Fort Collins, especially if you're a chocolate fan like me!

It's shaped like a giant ice cream churn, which makes it such a fun and unique place to stop. The whole area was really neat -- there are several other restaurants and small businesses around it, and it looks like they host live bands there during the summer. I definitely want to come back and explore more of the surrounding spots next time. For ice cream, I ordered the Fort Collins Chocolate (I think that was the name), and it had brownie pieces mixed in. It was absolutely delicious! All of their ice cream is made in-house at their main store and then brought over to this adorable churn-shaped shop, which makes it feel even more special. Every flavor we tried was great. I would definitely go back again -- such a cute atmosphere and amazing ice cream!

Afterwards they answered any questions we had on their products as we browsed. We ended up getting their chocolate pops, chocolate covered marsh mallows, giant candy canes, and candy apple. The candy apple was delicious! And no mold in the middle which I notice happens every time we get a caramel apple from the other fudge and candy place in town. Their sweets were also a great value in comparison to the other popular candy pop up store we frequent during the holidays. We usually avoid old town bc of the traffic but we'll have to make Kilwin's one of our main stops in the future.

The shop is teeny tiny, barely wider than the doorway ... I actually missed it the first time I walked by. They have a small but interesting selection of flavors, varied enough to appeal to kid and adult palates alike. On the recommendation of the server I decided to try the rhubarb jasmine pop. I was a little concerned that it might be too tart, but she explained that the rhubarb is caramelized before freezing into the popsicle. It turned out to be just the right amount of slightly sweet, not cloying in the least. I don't know that I got any notes of jasmine, perhaps because the rhubarb flavor was so front-and-center, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. I found this to be a nice indulgence on a hot day, and expect I will find my way here the next time I'm wandering around Old Town in the heat and need a sweet treat.
