The staff is SUPER friendly and enthusiastic! Really does make a difference. The service is so fast, I would recommend ordering when you're real close to picking up. We prefer eating there since the sandwiches get soggy when we take them to go. This place is very casual, the sandwiches are served on paper. I believe it would be several years since the last time we stopped in and grabbed a sandwich and sub to go. The service is impeccable. The lady that owns this restaurant is such a friendly kind soul. She cheerfully greeted us, explained items on the menu and everything is so very fresh and it's also prepared the way you want it We opted for the cheeseburger subs and the bread, the lettuce tomato. Everything was so fresh, but the ratio for the burger patty to the bun. Well, the burger patties could be a little bit bigger in our opinion, but nevertheless, it had great flavor and was an outstanding sub. We love traveling through New Oxford at Lunchtime. One this visit, I tried the Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak on the Terranetti Italian Roll. ( Chopped Chicken Steak, American Cheese, Fried Onion, Lettuce, Ranch and Texas Pete Hot Sauce. This sandwich was delicious! The Staff here are great and make you feel like a regular customer. This small family owned restaurant has amazing food from their homemade fries, pizzas, the fried shrimp, and don't even get me started on their subs! Unreal flavor and toasted hoagie buns add a perfect crunch to each bite. Their chocolate milkshake makes you feel like you're thrown back in time with its classic flavor and perfect consistency. The employees there were very nice and hard working. The inside is a really cool old diner vibe quiet and retro looking. You have to check this place out! 10/10 read more

My husband and I decided to stop by for a sandwich "to go" the other day, we haven't stopped here in a very long time. It's a very nice restaurant, very clean and the owner was extremely nice. We didn't know that this business has been there for many years, previously owned by her parents. We ordered cheeseburger subs, fresh cut fries and onion rings. The owner was very nice to show us the type of rolls they use, one being Terranetti rolls and the other Maier rolls. The rolls were very fresh, the sandwiches tasted good, but there just wasn't enough meat in the cheeseburger subs. I ordered the Maier roll, smaller size sub, my husband would have needed 2 subs if he would have ordered this. The burgers were very thin. My husband was not impressed with his sub on the other roll and said he didn't get many onion rings in his order. As for the fresh cut fries, they were delicious and you get a lot of fries. I'm not sure we will return. Our total bill was $33.00 and there are many other places that make a larger sandwich for the price. read more

My wife and I stopped in here yesterday for the first time, not really knowing what to expect. We saw the restaurant while driving past, and would often say that we needed to try it. I'm glad we did. I had a really good cheeseburger sub, while my wife had a turkey sub. I will have to try that next time. They put a lot of ice in the soda cup so of course it goes fast, and I ended up paying for a refill, too (I knew this in advance so it's not a knock on the place). Next time I'll ask for light ice. However for me, the absolute winner was their milkshake. I ordered an extra thick chocolate milkshake. It didn't seem extra thick to me, but it was definitely one of the best I've ever had in my life. I'd go back just for that, in a heartbeat. One funny thing I'm putting here just so I can remember it for myself years down the road... as I'm getting to the last 3 bites of my cheeseburger sub, it suddenly started tasting like it had onions on it, and I was really enjoying it. The lady in the back shouted out that she was sorry if she made us cry because she was chopping up onions. That gave us a good laugh. Once again I called in a large group order. They were very polite and asked questions to make sure that the order was correct. It was ready in a very short amount of time. I picked up my order at noon. The place was very busy. My order was correct and hot.I was in and out quickly. Flavor everyone seemed to enjoy. Value is in line for the most part with portions. Today was the first day we tried this little sub shop. It's cute, small area to sit and even a counter seating area. Everything was clean, including the restrooms. The prices weren't bad. Average $8 for most items. They don't make homemade sub rolls but they do buy the good Italian brands. The sandwiches weren't very big. I'd guess about a 6" sub size. Possibly 8". No more. My husband ordered a turkey sub and I ordered a chicken filet basket. Neither were bad, but not memorable either. They serve shoestring French fries. They were good and different than most places. There appeared to be quite a number of locals hanging out in there. I'm not sure if it's a local favorite? Did not have a milkshake (they have them too), but I did see one prepared for another customer and it looked excellent. A decent little hole in the wall. The service is great and friendly and the place is very clean and has a nice cozy atmospehere. The food is decent, but nothing really memorable, although the fries are home cut and very similar to the ones you get on the boardwalk. Overall, the place was a bit too high priced for my taste (11.75 for a pizza burger and fries) and refills on soda are 75 cents each. read more

Been riding by this place since the 90's going to the races at Lincoln Speedway, come from Virginia and we leave early to get a good seat and get a good parking spot, we decided to stop in and see what the place was like. Cute little sub and sandwich shop in New Oxford. I like to stop in here when I come home to visit my parents who live in the area. The food is simple, nothing fancy, but well done. It's similar to a restaurant that closed a few years back, but the Sub Stop has managed to pick up where Dutch's left off. The cheesesteak goes on a roll that is basically a hotdog roll, just slightly bigger. Subs are more expensive than subs in the area that go on homemade rolls with much more meat. Subs are also sloppy with ketchup and mayo. read more

Definitely not happy with my experience. I ordered my food and since the "kitchen" area is open, you can see the people making your food. I watched the cook pick up raw meat and put it on the grill without gloves. Then, without washing their hands, proceeded to pick up the bun for the sandwich with the same hands that just touched raw meat. A lot of multitasking without any hand washing took place. When the cook started to make my second sandwich (without washing their hands), they picked up another raw meat product and put it on the grill, and without a beat, placed the lettuce, tomato and onion on the previous sandwich with the raw meat tainted hands. I had already paid for my order and it was quite busy so I didn't want to make a scene, but I will NEVER return. Food safety should be a restaurant's top priority. It's cooking 101 to wash your hands after handling raw meat. I left the shop and threw my food out as soon as I got home. Seriously disappointed... read more

I live out of state but every time I pass through new oxford I have to stop here. They are always super courteous on the phone when you place your order, and your order is ready for pickup in about 5 minutes. The business itself is pretty no frills, but the food tastes great and it easy on the wallet. My favorite sandwiches here are the western and the outlaw. read more
