Great lunch or dinner option if you're local or visiting the BS area. We had the Pit Beef fully loaded and the Pulled Pork fully loaded. Both were out of this world. My favorite place to eat in Berkeley Springs. Cold subs are amazing - the bread is incredible. Hot steak sub is delicious and generous on the meat. My son has said their burger is definitely the best in town. Desserts are fantastic, especially the lemon dish they have. I've also bought fresh cut meat and the various salads they have and all are reasonably priced and super fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful. A different welcome change to a cheese steak! Finally had a chance to try Tony's Butcher Block in Berkeley springs, this cheesesteak is phenomenal. The quality of the steak is probably some of the best I've ever had, and it had tons of flavor. I will def be going back for a cheesteak! It's not super greasy and the meat isn't thin, it's more hearty and def a difference cut with some substance. Passed by and saw the pig symbol in the colors of the Itaian flag, a definite sign. Made a mental note for a future pick nick. I'm visiting West Virginia' Cacapone state park. One of the many state parks in this beautiful state. Finally stopped in for a delicious sub and some cucumber salad to go. Fresh bread and veggies made this wonderful sub complete along with the house made turkey. Two thumbs up! I was just looking around and found the fridge with the salads in there. The cucumber salad caught my attention and I have not had a good cucumber salad since a friend's grandmother made some many years back. When I went to check out the cashier said "I just made that salad today". Later on when I opened it up and tasted it I was in heaven. Truly the best I ever had. After one visit we declared Tony's Butcher Block to be our go-to stop for delicious deli sandwiches, and we've heard that all of Tony's meats are high quality, so we'll be back for the butcher too. As far as sandwiches, I tried both the meatball and turkey sandwich, 5 stars all around. There are two picnic tables out front at which to eat, otherwise you order from a window. Writing this during the never-ending pandemic, so it's worth noting that staff were wearing masks. If you're queasy, note that there's a pile of deer in back. My wife and I visit Berkely Springs every year for family Thanksgiving. We make it a priority to visit Tony's every time. We enjoy everything we have gotten from there. Additionally, the best part is the workers. They are very personable and extremely helpful! We walked in today craving a pizza roll and they were out for the day. After we ordered our food, the staff found out we weren't from the area and they came out to our car as we were getting ready to leave and said they would make some from scratch so we can take home and bake them!!! In addition to the great bbq their meat selection is great and it is top quality. I thought it was like a sandwich shop with a little meat for sale. It is primarily a super good butcher shop with sandwiches. The only thing I'd like better is if I could buy a "family-sized" serving of the BBQ also. Lousy Customer Service - No Customer Loyalty I've been going to Tony's for 25 years. Tony is a good man, he gives me small balls of ground beef for my doggies when I come into to buy up all of the wild caught fish in his freezer. His store reminds me of the Italian deli in my neighborhood growing up and for the last two decades I've been going there and recommending his place to friends and family. So, it is with deep regret that I write this negative review about the decline in customer service, lack of loyalty to long time customers, and just rude behavior from Tony's staff. I've had bad experiences previously, yet this one was the dealbreaker. Here is what happened this afternoon... I know that Tony's has a cut off for taking pizza orders so I called in early at 3:45 to get the cutoff time - I was told 4:30. Since I want my Pizza to be fresh for my guests, I told the service rep that I would call the order in at 4:20 - no problem. Until I called at 4:20 to place my order. The same gal said there were two pizzas ahead of mine and they didn't have time to make my two pizzas because they really wanted to close and go home even though it was not close to closing time. So I thought for sure they would still make the pizza since I called prior to the dead line and given my long relationship with the store. I found myself trying to convince them to do what they said they would do - take my order prior to the cutoff time and make my pizzas. Nope - tough luck lady was the attitude and sorry, I know I told you 4:30 but we just won't do it and Andrew the manager would not allow it because everyone want to close. What??? So for 20 minutes I am trying to convince them (and in 20 minutes my pizzas would be done) and they'd rather argue with me on all of the reasons why they are not honoring the 4:30 deadline instead of saying..."no worries, we got you, we want you to have a good meal with your guests and we are so happy you chose Tony's, we'll see you in 15 minutes." Now....I won't be going back. I'm stunned. Tony himself would not have let that happen, but his team is an extension of him. This is my third bad experience with them and for me, that's enough. read more

New to the area and have driven by Tony's a number of times, and finally tried it today. Getting out of the car, I could smell the fires (a very good sign). A fully loaded pit beef sandwich with BBQ sauce, horseradish, onions and slaw (slaw is extra) cost me just under $10. The first bite was heaven in my mouth. The beef was tender and all the flavors blended perfectly. It basically melted as I chewed. I'm going to need to work out more or buy bigger pants because of this place. read more

I've read both positive and negative reviews, all with some basis in truth from what I read. For the past eight-plus years we have been frequenting Tony's and never had a bad meal. Some folks complained about high prices but forget about the high quality of the products. But more than anything else, during the pandemic the Block was open, with extended hours, to serve the public and provide an income for employees during a very difficult time. Tried Tony's again based on friend's recommendations- it's been awhile so we tried an Italian cold cut and the fries. The fries are absolutely hands down amazing and the cold cut is really very good. There are a few tables out front which were occupied we chose to take our food to the park. Top ten if not a top five cheese steak. The bread was good which is important.
