This is the only center available close to our home and on O'ahu back in 2017. 3/5 stars: Licensed Clinical Psychologist and staff of first evaluation for being on point regarding one out of two Dx for my son. Second Dx was a misdiagnosis when we brought him back a few years later for reevaluation. That's now been corrected with two more Dx that are on point. We've been instructed to have him return in a few years. Lots of paperwork to bubble in, write and sign consent forms. Waiting for results takes three months. For instance, if testing gets completed in April, expect scheduling results to be ready three months later, example in July. Wonderful news is all testings and evaluations were covered under my son's medical insurance. Services utilized: 5/5 stars: Social Skills Group: My son attended at age 4, loved it and went every Saturday for ten sessions. Out of pocket expense and not covered under insurance. It's unfortunate the instructor no longer works here and this program is not available. 0/5 stars: Note: I inquired with Licensed Clinical Psychologist in advance what are her thoughts about enrolling our son in Kumon Reading offered at many locations on O'ahu since cost is cheaper per month after receiving reevaluation. LCP highly advised against it without reason or evidence. My biggest regret is I've should've listened to my own intuition and enrolled him elsewhere for tutoring earlier. 1/5 stars: OG Tutoring a.k.a Orton-Gillingham Tutoring: Highly recommended by Licensed Clinical Psychologist for twice a week sessions. There's only one OG Tutor available part-time on Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays mornings only. My son attended in-person sessions from twice a week which eventually dwindled to once a week for a total of 10 months which was mostly due to instructor cancelling sessions on us. Independent consultant charged $50 cash or check only per 1 hour session. We're spending $400-$500 per month of our own money. When my son did testing with the center and at his school on two separate dates, test scores showed slight improvement only by a few points. My son still had difficulty reading words and sentences. Last straw for us was when independent consultant casually strolls in five minutes late without no attempted phone call or text to give a heads up or apologize while we're rushing from his baseball game to arrive here on time. No consideration for time. Not once but twice. Good thing we're able to claim OG Tutoring under medical expenses during tax season. Good news is he's receiving tutoring services elsewhere, flourished in a shorter amount of time, test scores are much higher in school, progressing quicker, and we're saving more money per month. What may work for one child may not always work for another. There's no perfect recipe. Must try and find what will work in the child's best interest.

She would be out of sight being under furniture most of the time, because of this we named her "Hidey", a play on the name Heidi. Over the past couple of years she was slowly getting weaker, and I knew since she was 17, she was on the downhill slope of life. When it finally came time in December of this year, I sadly made the arrangements with Kakaako Pet Hospital. I chose to have her cremated with her ashes reutrned to me and the staff at KPH patiently went through what they'd be doing and what exactly to expect with a time frame. My appointment to have her put down was the following morning but my kitty went that night instead. Heartbreaking but that made me feel better that she was able to spend her last moments at home. I took her the next morning (Tuesday) to drop her off at KPH and was able to pick her up on Friday. Her ashes actually was ready the following day but a couple of things KPH does is get a plaster paw print of your pet and a clipping of fur if you choose to so the waiting was for the paw print to fully harden. All of this from the explaining of the total process and arranging with crematorium to doing something special like the paw print and fur clipping really made a big difference for me with comfortably being able to let go. We just had a short trip outerisland, but couldn't bring our fir babies. Usually the parents or a friend can watch out pups, but not this time around. We called around and found it very challenging, almost like sending a toddler to daycare for the first time, they need vet records and a company to vouch that your pup isn't crazy and dangerous to others. We called these folks and they were very friendly and made it as easier to request vet records and willing to do trial run overnight to see how our dogs would do. We drove down and it's a little confusing to find, but basically aim for Salz Lock and Safe, pull into their parking and continue to the chain link fence and you'll see it mountain side. We met the couple that takes care of the fur babies. They were very welcoming and most importantly our dogs sixth sense accepted them right away. Their tails kept wagging, which made us feel better. Our dogs actually shake when we go to the vet and tail down, between the legs. We provided food for the morning, leashes and harness and that's it. They recommended not bring the beds because other dogs might mark them, since it's not a kennel environment. They can walk freely in the rooms and act like they do at home. We left them overnight and we're ready for a phone call, but no complaints came. Then in the morning we went to pick them up. On arrival the couple were still their smiling with our pups. Our dogs seemed happy with their tails wagging. They reported back to us how the dogs did and everything went well. I would recommend Barks and Purrs, because they genuinely seem to care for our dogs. Our dogs were happy and we felt safe to have them watched there.

My little pupster gets super excited when we get there and now when I say "doggie daycare" he starts running around in circles and heads to the car, ready to go. He always looks forward to going to visit Richard and his furry friends. He comes home absolutely wore out. He wolfs down his dinner and then sprawls out on the floor to sleep. Richard is flexible with scheduling and very responsive and communicative. They also offer bathing services on site which you can avail yourself to while your fur baby stays in their care. I send my pup 2 days a week so that he gets much needed socialization and I get peace of mind knowing he's in capable hands.

I found dr b from doing very extensive searches for holistic veterinarians and searching their backgrounds etc. trying to make the best choice for my baby, who can help get her on the right track and a good plan since she was 13 1/2 and I wanted to extend her life naturally providing for her the best I can. Dr Basko got on her plan right away, he wasted no time. A couple days after the phone consult he had a 2 part treatment plan ready for her. Part one- was a lot of detailed explanations what was going on inside and different ways we can fix it. Part two- was the treatment plan with links to all supplements and foods, shakes to make for her liver, trust me he knows his stuff. But it with a heavy heart that I write... that while I was collecting all the supplements for her to take and get her started on the right foot, she was brought to the hospital here in LA for anemia, and internal GI bleeding. Unfortunately long story short my baby, my best friend, my world did it make it out of the la hospital, the only reasoning for her death they gave us was: collapse. That's it no other explanations. I informed dr b and his team that unfortunately despite our best efforts to fix lulu and her health it was just too late, and I felt super disturbed by the no explanation from the la hospital which i stressed to him. I could not believe it, Dr Basko emailed me back and actually CARED to help me understand what happened to my baby, and get me the clarity I need. Versus her vet in LA who never even said he was sorry for my loss. Dr Basko is a kind, caring, patient and compassionate doctor who TRULY cares about animals, all animals.
