I got a…read moreair rifle finally the other day, and I've been learning all i can about my Notos. its a type of rifle and even though the web is full of info, its tough to replace what you can learn from people 1st hand. My initial reason for popping in was a boring one. I couldn't get the pellet gun to hold air. I got the appropriate type of pump but after many hundred pumps, it was time to find help. A quick search landed on Delray Shooting Center. I called ahead to make sure they did that sort of thing. The nice guy on the phone was one of the many people there when I arrived. he was cheerful, explained what I may be doign wrong with the pump and said he would get it filled up. Minutes later he was back with a fully aired up rifle. Only charged me half too since the cylinder was fairly small. I've been back a couple times for the same thing(way easier than pumping it up myself) and they have been plenty helpful and quick to work everytime.

We were a group of 4, made up of 2 people with previous experience in firearms and 2 novices. Andy was amazing, he was so thorough and treated all of us the same! He assessed everyone's knowledge and comfort and answered all the questions we had with details, examples and always explained the why's. I had never owned a gun or fire one. I learned how to load, unload, clear 4 different types of malfunctions, but most importantly I learned so much about my gun. I didn't know what to expect during the classroom training, Andy made the 3 hours fly by. In the shooting range, Andy was there with us the entire time. He helped us be confident with our performance and corrected us when it was needed. We are definitely going to go back to visit Andy for additional range training. I just want to thank Jeff Quinney of First Assurance for an amazing class…read more I took his Concealed Carry class a few months ago and this past weekend, took the Defensive Pistol Fundamentals class. It was a great followup class as I was able to put to practice the fundamentals that I learned during that course. In addition to that, I learned how to safely and quickly draw from a holster, learned about reloads, pistol malfunctions, how to increase speed/accuracy, and more. My confidence is through the roof and I feel so much better prepared than I did before training with Jeff. I highly recommend this course to anyone who has already completed their Concealed Carry class, wants to be a better defensive shooter, or if you just want to be more prepared for what could happen while you're carrying. If you think you don't need this class because you've been around guns your whole life, I will definitely argue that you're doing yourself a disservice by not taking this class. I worried at first hearing that some of the students had been shooting for years and I had only ever shot a gun on 2 occasions before taking this course, but when I saw how much those students were learning and improving on skills that they didn't even know they needed improvement on, I felt confident that I would also be able to fine tune my own skills and build upon what I already knew. My primary focus was on sight acquisition, holster work, trigger control, stance, and reloads and I can honestly say by the end of the day those skills were improved as I was holding a 3" group while working on everything we did :) I can't wait to do this again. One of the biggest benefit was the way Jeff was able to break down and explain what I was doing wrong when I couldn't explain it myself. The use of a shot timer was another useful tool which proved helpful. Jeff was very accommodating as far as scheduling and allowed me to break up my payments to make it more manageable for my budget. It was definitely money well spent and I'm looking forward to some of the workshops he has coming up.
