Then when I argued why, the clown acts like some what to be tough guy, took the rod tip and eyelet off the completely repaired rod, and told me to go kick rocks. Ruined a completely good rod. A friend…read moreinvited me to join the ECO Mangrove Paddle Tour on a Sunday morning and it's the best thing I did on my trip to Florida. Lisa is patient, a great instructor and makes sure you experience the nature - the spider crabs, the sounds of the mussels, the ospreys and more. Even with beginners, she was able to adapt the tour to accommodate. There was a young woman who hadn't paddled before and Lisa and her assistants kept an eye on her, coached her and even adjusted her equipment to make her paddle even more successful. The assistants are a notable feature. Lisa told us that any time they have a group of 5 or more she has at least one of these experienced paddlers as an assistant. These assistants bring up the back and monitor the group to adapt to speed, take photos, encourage and guide. I highly recommend this tour, whether you're an experienced paddler, have your own board, or need to use the very high quality equipment they provide. The next time I'm in town I plan to take the tour again.

I haven't needed a tackle shop, as I have a great one in the garage, and a mobile one in the back…read moreof of my truck, so it was with great surprise that we stumbled across White's (Stuart location's) grand opening today (04/13/2013). A quick browse through the shop showed that this will be a welcome addition to the Stuart area. They appeared to stock all the top brands, as well as a great selection of fresh baits - both pre-rigged and natural. It appeared to be a shop that is well suited for the conditions in Stuart, with the near shore fish buffet call the Indian river in the front yard and the blue water bonanza just a couple of miles out the St Lucie inlet. And as an interesting twist, they are also carrying gear for the "sea hunters" stocking gear or the free divers. Everything from spear guns to wetsuits, masks, snorkels and other accessories for the blue water free diver ( as a shore based fisherman, I do carry some dive gear (hand held lights and a compact dive knife) as it is the best functioning, most reliable gear made. So when I do have tackle needs that I cannot fulfill out of my "store" they will be at the top of my list.

This is for their San Diego branch…read more Good service, but not great, hence the three stars. To be somewhat fair, I called the morning of the excursion, about 3 hours in advance. My main reason for calling this company was because of the drop/pick up service they offered for their paddleboard rentals. They advertise "Anywhere you want to paddle, We'll bring the boards. Even to your home!" copied directly from their website. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case when I called. I first asked if we could get them dropped off at Fiesta Island. "No, that's a bad idea" they tell me. They recommend Fanuel Park, which I later come to realize is where they are located. My group (who have their own boards) wanted to drop in at Crown Point. I text Hui Hui back an ask if we can do Crown Point instead, which is about 5 minutes away from Fanuel. They just text back "Can you do Fanuel?"... Since I already paid the deposit and didn't feel like arguing with someone about their supposed drop off/pickup service, I said whatever, I'll pick them up myself and take them over to crown point myself. Hoping to get a " Oh no, we take the boards to where you want to paddle", instead I got a "Works for us!" Yeah of course it does. We get there and stuff two boards in the back of our car with the trunk still open and the boards barely strapped in, we made our way to crown point and had a great day. The dude seemed chill, and I was hesitant on writing a review, but since he asked me to, here you go. Lastly, their pricing is all over the place. Their website says $40 for 4 hours in one place, $45 in another place, and then dude charges me $55 for four hours when I call in. I didn't argue that either, I was just trying to paddle board man. In summary, don't advertise a service you don't offer.
