Ironically, I had a dental appointment earlier today and have been dealing with some tooth sensitivity, so I wasn't able to enjoy any of the sweets this visit. Instead, I decided to try something savory for the first time and ordered the salmon tartine. It was absolutely delicious. Nothing overly complicated--just quality salmon, avocado, and incredible house-made sourdough bread--but everything worked perfectly together. Beyond the food, this is one of my favorite places to relax. I had a long wait before my car would be ready, and Estelle's was the perfect spot to settle in with some quiet time. Whether you want to read a book, get some work done, meet friends for brunch, or treat your kids to something special, it fits the occasion. Everyone is unfamiliar with a menu at some point, and I left that interaction feeling like my questions were an inconvenience rather than something he was happy to help with. The food, on the other hand, was great. The ciabatta sandwich is one of my favorites and is always a reason I come back. The matcha is usually amazing as well. I love how creamy and smooth it normally is with oat milk, and it's honestly one of the best matchas I've had. This time, though, it tasted much grassier and more bitter than usual, which was a little disappointing. For dessert, I tried the strawberry mousse dessert with a chocolate shell and strawberry filling. The mousse and strawberry filling were delicious, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The only part I didn't enjoy was the outer chocolate shell, which was a little too bitter for my taste and overpowered some of the other flavors. Overall, the food was still very good, but the service left a negative impression.
