I have to say this had to be our most disappointing dinner anywhere in a great deal of time. The service was excellent, but the drinks and Chicken Avocado bowl were uninspired and tasteless. I was quite surprised at how plain and uncomfortable the building was, you could almost say cheap. Just wanted to give some love to this place! My boyfriend and I came here for dinner last night - this restaurant is one of our favorite "go-to's". We have always had great food and service here. First time at Su Casa. Shared some crispy potatoes to start - they were excellent. I enjoyed very tasty lobster enchiladas. My husband had the crab cakes- they need more crab and less breading! We shared a tiramisu for dessert- it was a big portion and delicious. read more

First visit: We called around 4 on a Saturday and were able to reserve a table for 4 at 5:30. There are tables outside in the front and inside, but if you can, ask for the tented area upstairs. It is charming and beautifully done. Updated after 2 additional visits: FOOD: 2 1/2 stars. The food is inventive and tasty, but didn't hit the 5 star category for 2 reasons. We got guacamole and pico for the table. Both were made well, but the portions were not as generous as we would have liked for $12. The calamari taco and the pork cutlet were both overcooked. The tempura fried avocado was fantastic. The avocado bowl is pretty good. The first time I had it, I requested their cilantro lime dressing as an added side, and it made the dish perfect. However, it does not come with that dish, and when I requested it on a subsequent visit it was clear the chef did not want to add it and told our server they were out of the ingredients to make it. Too bad, as that is what really made that bowl special. BAR: Generous wine pours and unique, tasty drinks. The cocktails are excellent, average size for a craft cocktail, $12. Ben, the bartender, has a gift for mixing the right ingredients and I love when that also means they are not stingy on the liquor. SERVICE: Good. Amy was very attentive, pleasant and knew the menu well. She appeared at just the right times and never hovered. Everyone we encountered had a warm, friendly greeting. Kristen was our server on a return visit and was also very friendly. From the time you enter to the time you leave, everyone there is super friendly and I can tell they are smiling, even through their masks :) ATMOSPHERE: Our first visit we sat in the outside tent which is well done! Probably the best restaurant tent we have been in. They really did a nice job making the space feel warm, classy and comfortable. Our most recent visit (Sept 10) we sat inside, near the bar. The bartender(s) on the evening of Sept 10th were the noisiest bartenders I have encountered. They would toss each empty glass bottle they emptied into the bin, which already contained glass. At first it sounded like someone had dropped a bunch of dishes, however, after the 3rd time it happened in a short timeframe, I turned around to see the actual reason for the crashing noise. I don't understand how they could not have known this was a very disruptive noise for patrons. That, coupled with the woman in the table next to ours having a shouting conversation with one of the bartenders, left us leaving very annoyed. On this visit, it really seemed that the staff was oblivious to what makes a nice environment for patrons. So disappointing. If you don't have an app that reads barcodes, you might want to install one before you arrive. There is a little barcode in a cute frame on each table for you to snap a photo of. After a few seconds, you will be directed to an online menu. I'd recommend also having hand sanitizer with you, as I am sure that little piece gets passed around the table. If you prefer low tech, they have the menu on a big chalkboard on the fence just outside the tent upstairs. I wish there was a better spot for it to hang. I felt I was infringing on other diners as from where we were sitting, the menu was partially blocked. The only way to read it was to go over there and that was a bit awkward. With our recent 2 visits to Su Casa not hitting the mark, we will look for other places to eat in and around Plymouth. read more

I was in Su Casa a couple of months ago and am just finishing up a draft review I started on my visit. Su Casa is right on the main strip in downtown Plymouth. We took advantage of some nice outdoor seating on a beautiful Fall afternoon the day we ate here. On our visit, we received very attentive service from the friendly wait staff. I ordered some superb scallops for my meal. Wow, super good. I used to live in Mass and now live in Florida. I always forget how awesome the scallops are in the Northeast. These were prepared perfectly. Grilled just the right way with a spice/rub that was on point. I tried to order a drink off the menu that I think they need to add, I was in on a Saturday at lunch and it's a Mexican joint ...so I asked if they could prepare me a Bloody Maria ... well the answer was no. There was no tomato juice or spicy tomato juice apparently. As a fan of tequila and Bloody Marias, I suggest they add them! All in all, great visit and a good time. I went with my fiancé today (Saturday) around 6 pm so a very busy time to dine. I will give the restaurant a little bit of slack in terms of service as it seemed the restaurant was understaffed. First our 3 drinks were good/excellent: Grapefruit Dead (4/5 slightly overly bitter finish), Your Sex Is On Fire (jalapeño margarita- 5/5), and a Donchu Know I'm Coco (Coconut Margarita 5/5). The margaritas were excellent, the bartender was on point and they were beautiful drinks that tasted good and were priced well. We'd come back for drinks for sure. We had the tuna ceviche (5/5) app, it tasted pretty good...better than most. Upon receiving the appetizer, we realized we didn't have any silverware so I got up and got a server's attention and we got silverware about a minute later which was fine. We'd come back for the apps for sure. My fiancé has the steak tips, which were pretty good (4/5-could use a little more spice and be a little larger of a portion). I would like to try the salmon or mahi and one of us get the steak tips again if we come back for an entree. I got 4 subpar tacos: Seared Tuna (3/5), Carnitas (2/5), Pesca Del Dia (2/5), and Beef Barbacoa (2/5). None of the tacos had any significant flavor so I asked the waiter for salsa, which I never received. I gave him a few minutes to bring the salsa out and my food started to get cold so I ate my tacos and supplemented the bland flavor with my fiancé's dipping sauce from her entree. The tuna taco tasted fresh and it was not overcooked so I gave it slightly higher rating than the others. Pesca Del Dia was dry and tasted like nothing. I would discourage anyone from getting tacos here, overpriced, flavorless (no spice), and the quality is very subpar for the price. Lastly, we got the churros for dessert. I asked for two forks which may of been a silly request but they never brought us forks (also not a big deal but worth mentioning). The churros were pretty tasty (slightly above average in flavor and a sizable portion --4/5). As a whole the food and beverages receive a 4/5 in total, I'm a foodie with high standards (I go out for food several times a week...from hole in the wall dives to all the way up to Michelin star restaurants on rare special occasions). Service as a whole was the worst part of the meal (2.5/5, it really deserved 2/5, but giving it a small boost for it being a busy Saturday). The manager was on point but the server and food runners didn't follow through with any request and the timing was a bit off most of the time tonight. Atmosphere (3/5) was a cute, trendy, small restaurant. It was very noisy and could of been a little less dim. The sounds were echoing from the walls and the ceilings, my fiancé remarked about it several times while eating. My fiancé went to the bathroom and there was no soap visible, so she went digging in the sink cabinet and found a large container of soap to wash her hands with which was not cool. We were also seated next to the open door and it's still in the high 40s/low 50s outside so we were a little cold while we were eating. On a warmer and quieter night with a stocked bathroom we could of given this spot 4/5 for atmosphere as the space is cute inside. Overall, when eating contemporary casual eats we expect better service. We also spent over 150 dollars tonight which is about the average dinner price for the two of us, but we are used to higher quality food for that price. I'd go back again, but never eating tacos there, I'm sticking with some kind of margarita and we will not be going back on a Friday or Saturday night. read more

I was so excited to try this place, as I love Mexican food. The staff was phenomenal. The drinks were very good. The food was very disappointing. My wife had a burrito and it was cold inside and the beans weren't cooked. We reheated it at home and it still was probably a 3 out of 10 as for a burrito. I ordered 3 different tacos, seared tuna, avocado and cauliflower. The tuna was the best one, very fresh, lots of flavor. The avocado and cauliflower were fried, which I expected but neither tasted like the vegetable, they tasted like fried grease and nothing else. We were there near closed and asked for a churro as they are my all time favorite! The waitress let me know that they couldn't make one because it was 10PM. I understand that closing, is closing but other patrons walked in and got food after I was told that so I was very disappointed. read more

The food, albeit as part of a limited menu, is quite good. Their Tacos and quesadillas are excellant. The reason they get four not five stars is the 1) The place has no air conditioning. I never noticed it in my previous visits but today was hot and humid so it was pretty uncomfortable inside. It pays to eat outside weather permitting. The other reason for the loss of one star is the margarita I ordered. It came in a regular beverage glass that was three quarters full of ice. The alcoholic content was almost undetectable. Two sips and it was finished! No kidding. We were in a hurry, so I did not complain but $14 for a mini margarita is not good. read more

If you want good authentic Mexican food you come here! Trust me, I may look a normal, run of the mill red headed soccer mom but I have spent my fair share in Mexico specifically Tijuana. I'll give Tijuana the upper hand on gentlemen's clubs and roadside fireworks but the food at Su Casa is "Muy bueno". They're 3000 miles apart but damnit the food is so good! I got the Ceviche to start and followed that up with a yummy quesadilla. My date got tuna tacos and had some of my ceviche, his breath smelled liked death but we still took a bath after our date. He's my sons old math teacher, we haven't told him. He won't be happy. If you come here for drinks get a margarita, they're fantastic and make 4/10 math teachers look like at least a 7. Will be back, there's a nice menu that I'd love to explore. read more

This is not a spot you can miss. The street corn is unreal and they have a bunch of drink and app specials one of whIch was a scallop and shrimp corn fritter...it was delicious! My wife and I had a great lunch at Su Casa. The owner Nick was our waiter. He was just great. I ordered a Margarita that was so nice I ordered two. My wife ordered a Pig Nose Scotch and then another. I ordered a Brisket Burrito with all the fixings. It was great. My wife the Chorizo and clam ramen noodles. The ramen noddles were hand cut and just supreme. Nick was just great all through our meal. I am originally from Plymouth and am always excited when the new place opens up in town. I got back in town for the holidays and I was eager to check out Su Casa as I had heard great things. My sister and I decided to have a Sissy date and after she got out of work, we headed to Su Casa around 7 PM on a weeknight. We didn't make a reservation, but we were able to be seated right by the faux fireplace. It is a smaller restaurant so the seating is very close together, much like New York City and Europe. I enjoyed the ambience right away. It was hip and trendy for a Plymouth restaurant which I loved. The hostesses and servers are all cute, young girls that were super sweet. We were greeted by our server, Gabby. She was a young, cute girl who took excellent care of us. She was really helpful in explaining the menu and why they don't have guacamole on the side, . We started off sharing a few different appetizers. We ordered a delicious salmon and avocado appetizer that I would totally return for. We also got the beet salad. These are smaller plates and meant for sharing. Both of those were delicious. As for a main course, my sister recommended we try the tacos. We got one of each, and they were all good. I specifically liked the braised beef. We wanted guacamole on the side but since they didn't do that they did give us half of an avocado sliced so we could put that in our tacos. They also recommended us getting black beans. We ordered that as well but it tasted too salty like they were cooked with bacon. My sister tried a craft cocktail with bourbon and it looked delicious. I got my usual, Kettle martini which was made perfectly. I would definitely return for cocktails I loved the environment and thought the cocktail menu was very interesting, I wish I explored outside of my comfort zone. I loved the appetizers, the tacos didn't blow my mind, but I did enjoy the service. Both of the owners came over to talk to us and ask us about our experience, which I always love and respect. I've finally had a chance to review this family-run hot-spot in Plymouth. Nick & Erin are great hosts and the staff are all very friendly. As you can probably tell from the restaurant's name, the food is Mexican-inspired and fresh. The tacos, of which I'm partial to the barbacoa brisket and carnitas, are amazing. My favorite meal thus far, however, is the Baja Burger. Just writing about it is starting to make me salivate. As for the drinks, the craft cocktails have inspired names and are all very good. Wow. Do not believe the hype. I went because of all the glowing reviews. The dishes over complicated yet somehow had bo flavor. I got the chimmichurri steak. Beans were under cooked and had no flavor, the steak only tasted like Char. Like i liked a dirty grill no flavor just burnt. The pork belly was okay, cooked well but again not seasoned at all. The chips and queso! Omg barely any salt on the chips and queso tasted like cream. Not a single thing was spicy the best thing i ate was the empanadas and it was Curry filled not even hispanic seasonings would not be surprised if those they ordered frozen because they were miles above every other thing i ate here. Great place. Took the family here for dinner. The food was very tasty, full of flavor. Everyone had a great time. I had the Carne Assad, my wife has the ceiche and tuna tacos. The kids ate the boring stuff, cheeseburger and Quesadilla (yawn). The staff was super responsive and attentive. This is the type of business we should be supporting during the pandemic. For the 1 per-center who found joy in being a hostile, totally unbearable and flat out annoying customer (Steph R.) to the staff at Su Casa please go to surrounding restaurants and eventually they will figure out that you are a cereal complainer and you will again find something to complain about! This is a gem in Plymouth. We stopped in the way back to the city from the cape and we were blown away. We ordered the chicken empanadas, 4 tacos (barbacoa, carnitas, octopus and cod) and the lobster avocado bowl. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
