I booked two blow dry appointments at Sip and Dry for my sister's rehearsal dinner--one of which was supposed to include a ponytail for my sister, the bride. I chose this blow dry bar because a ponytail is clearly listed as one of the available styles under the blowout section on their website. When we got there, they kept the bride waiting around for 20 minutes before finally informing us that they "didn't feel comfortable" doing a ponytail because they didn't have enough girls trained in that style. Seriously, a hair and beauty business with 6-8 creative professionals on staff at the time, and no one could do a simple ponytail? On the day of her rehearsal dinner! The bride ended up crying in the chair, and I started crying too, and no one working there cared or showed the slightest bit of empathy. When I expressed my disappointment on the way out, the girl at checkout (don't know her name, but she had pink hair) dismissively told me that ponytails are considered an "updo," and they didn't have enough girls trained in a ponytail to do my sister's. When I pointed out that ponytails are listed under the blowout section on their own website, she just looked away and didn't respond. No acknowledgment, no apology--just silent, rude indifference. The ponytail didn't include any pinning of hair, which is what they define as an "updo". They ruined what should have been a joyful, memorable part of my sister's wedding weekend. The place had a very strange vibe, was completely unprofessional, and I just can't understand how the people working are so bad at interacting with humans. I would never recommend Sip and Dry to anyone--especially not for anything remotely special.

They offer several "sips" including seasonal sips. The blowouts are always consistent and if you get a membership any extra you get during the month are only 40.00. I went to Julissa's Blow Dry Bar in late July after a recommendation and good reviews. Huge mistake. First, the salon charges separately for things that should be included -- no roller sets unless booked separately, and you pay for a haircut and blowout as two different services. My bill for a haircut, deep treatment, blowout, and tip? $130. Pricey, but I could've lived with that. What I can't live with is the chemically altered hair I now have. A week later, I washed my hair and smelled chemicals immediately. After towel drying, my curls were gone -- limp, stringy, and clearly chemically altered. This is not heat damage. I know the difference. Months of work restoring my curls, now done the drain. My hair was destroyed in one visit. Now I have to wear my hair straight for months while I try to rehab it. She did an amazing job. She took the time to examine my hair, explained exactly what needed to be done to correct it. She then gave me an amazing shampoo, with scalp massage, talk about relaxing. Haircut - he is such a perfectionist when cutting your hair and he knows what he is doing. My hair is very long (past mid back) and he was able to keep my length but give it the movement of shorter hair. I keep thinking he trimmed like a foot off with how well it's moving but he took maybe 3 inches off. Color - I highly recommend letting Allen pick your hair color. Not only can he seamlessly blend multiple colors together to give you amazing variation and depth but he can find the perfect colors to make your complexion pop and look amazing.
