Tara took my call on a Saturday and was able to set up an appointment for the upcoming Friday, which was awesome since I desperately needed a cut, and we were hoping for a Thursday or Friday evening appointment. They offer you Nutri-Grain bars and beverages as soon as you arrive. Sweet! Vibe All the girls have such a cool vibe and are so friendly. It's like they truly love what they do which is important because it makes everyone who visits feel welcome, positive, and happy to be there. It's like you want to be their friend. You want to stick around all day and gab. Wash & Style With Tara Tara did a fantastic job of washing my hair with a specific shampoo she knew would bring out my highlights. She was super sweet and easy to chat with - if you enjoy the salon experience, you know this is a thing, an important thing. Tara also styled my hair after Nicole worked her magic. Now, this may sound strange, but she styled it in a way that looked "like you just stepped out of a salon," yet aren't overly styled where you're legit depressed knowing, "No way will it ever look like this again." It was a super cute, attainable style. Haircut by Nicole Nicole, wow! Freakin' love her. So cool and down to earth. My friend said she was cool and wasn't kidding. Super sweet and so easy to chat with - again you don't want to leave! The girls make you feel so at home. 20 years ago, a stylist in downtown NYC blade-cut my hair and it never looked that good again. I've asked for it before and I guess it's either a dated or awkward way to cut hair. Nicole understood and gave me that messy texture I've been looking for. I'm a mess and like my hair to match that mess. LOL. She nailed it. Point being, she listened and gave me what I wanted! Not Just a Haircut! This was a fantastic experience. Glam Kitty Hair Studio is 10000000% the place to go and the place to be. They have completely transformed my daughter and my own hair, and the confidence we exude is literally priceless. Parking is super easy here cause it the place is located at a store complex and in this area most businesses have parking available. I called a couple of hours in advance I managed t get an appointment for cut and color not he same day! it was lucky of me cause it was a Sunday so most places in the area are either closed or busy. The decor here is great! they have a very rock and roll vibe and look, the music is rock, the colors are purple, you see guitars and plenty of leather, the staff here has a style and character from their heads that display fun hair colors all the way to their toes, with nice and black rock inspired outfits and accessories. As I came in the staff was very friendly and quick to let me know that I would need to wait for the next available professional. I did wait more than a half hour to be seen, meaning 30 minutes past my appointment time but the staff was keeping me updated and also offers me refreshments. They had some grain bar available and a menu of drinks they serve to their clients. I had to sign a paper before I could start my coloring and cut, it was like a waiver, I don't remember well what was written but if you call to make an appointment and are curious about it just ask on the appointment call what the waiver is for. My Master colorist was Haley, we had a quick consultation about my hair goals and I tried to be very realistic with her about the color I wanted to go for. She was confident that we could achieve it and so we went for it. I ended up only doing a very simple color retouch, and a cut to provide my hair more strength and health, as I work wearing a bun most of the time. Haley was super great and the attention she gave me was above and beyond. All the other Staff members were also very friendly as well as the customers, it was a pleasant place to get my service done. This place is definitely a hidden beauty gem that I wonder why is not dealing with lines outside turning the corner cause these ladies are amazing at what they do. I was lucky that I called and they managed to squeeze me in cause they were busy when I arrived for my appointment and I still had to wait. I absolutely recommend this place for someone who is new to coloring their hair. I have never done any coloring and A-Rae was so kind and willing to talk through different color styles until we found the one that would work for me. And the color, gurl! So vibrant and perfect! A-Rae really made the experience for me. That, and the other stylists in the salon were also very fun and kind and it really felt like a family vs a single stylist using a space for hairstyling. Update Sept 2019: I've gone for cut, color, and dermplaning and have been incredibly happy with all my experiences. Glam Kitty has an incredible staff that clearly love what they do. Great cuts and color for very reasonable prices. The salon is a fun purple space that allows you to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The hair stylists do a great job with fantasy colors and take the time to listen to customer requests so we walk out completely satisfied. Plus, I've never felt pressured to buy extra things like some salons do. Jaye, the owner is often around and offers additional services. Tried a new stylist and I should have read the writing on the wall that because she has 4 hair colors currently that she thinks everyone is okay changing hair colors. Not to mention the fact that I never leave unsatisfied and am always BEYOND infatuated with how my hair looks AND feels. She wasn't judgy or mean and didn't make me feel worse about the mess I'd made. She did a phenomenal job with my cut and color and gave me the hands down best brow wax I've ever had. She also asked me before we started if I had a price point in mind I felt comfortable with. No one's ever asked before! I don't typically enjoy salons. Not my vibe. This place is different. I've been going here for a while and when I do go, its upwards of 7-8 hrs I'm there and well over $350 each time for a color or foil and extensions placement. Last time I went, I didn't have the best experience. The stylist Nicole toned my golden blonde hair a disgusting Ashy gray color and I freaked out. Not knowing it could be fixed, I got upset, as I'm sure anyone else would. But hold on... apparently this Salon doesn't like it when you get upset over a mistake made by the stylist. Oh no. They just send you a thanks but no thanks for your business DM, calling you rude and that you have no business telling the stylist how to do her job! Oh I'm sorry, last time I checked it was my hard earned money I was giving you for your services and my hair. I'm for sure gonna tell you when you f*cked up my hair and make you fix it! Also I asked Nicole to give me curtain bangs.... they're cut at my eye level and not even blended. Any other stylist I've ever been to has NEVER taken 8 HOURS to color and place extensions! If you're going to keep a client there that long, at least offer them food! Don't sit there and eat your lunch/dinner in front of them while they're processing! I had an AMAZIN' time here =) I like that this place is not your typical salon. I usually hate going to salons and having to make fake bs chitchat with the stylist and or owner. This place was very sassy and down to earth. Everyone was genuinely nice and suprisingly real. They take care of you and at the same time aren't overchatty and leave you alone if you don't want to talk that much. I got a facial and brow wax by the owner Jaye and a red ombre by Ginny. They were both very sweet genuine people. The facial was super relaxing and I've been getting compliments on my dye job left and right. All the services were excellent. I really like that this place does edgy styles at an affordable price and am surprised that it is in Pinellas Park in some beat up stripmall.
