I booked two blow dry appointments at Sip and Dry for my sister's rehearsal dinner--one of which was supposed to include a ponytail for my sister, the bride. I chose this blow dry bar because a ponytail is clearly listed as one of the available styles under the blowout section on their website. When we got there, they kept the bride waiting around for 20 minutes before finally informing us that they "didn't feel comfortable" doing a ponytail because they didn't have enough girls trained in that style. Seriously, a hair and beauty business with 6-8 creative professionals on staff at the time, and no one could do a simple ponytail? On the day of her rehearsal dinner! The bride ended up crying in the chair, and I started crying too, and no one working there cared or showed the slightest bit of empathy. When I expressed my disappointment on the way out, the girl at checkout (don't know her name, but she had pink hair) dismissively told me that ponytails are considered an "updo," and they didn't have enough girls trained in a ponytail to do my sister's. When I pointed out that ponytails are listed under the blowout section on their own website, she just looked away and didn't respond. No acknowledgment, no apology--just silent, rude indifference. The ponytail didn't include any pinning of hair, which is what they define as an "updo". They ruined what should have been a joyful, memorable part of my sister's wedding weekend. The place had a very strange vibe, was completely unprofessional, and I just can't understand how the people working are so bad at interacting with humans. I would never recommend Sip and Dry to anyone--especially not for anything remotely special.

I have whiplash and I woke up today with my neck thrown out from getting my hair done there yesterday. I remember joking about my legs once to Alex about my legs looking like tree trunks. He made a corny joke and the whole room got quiet so he decided to make a jab about my legs (using someone's tree trunk as a boat ore). Anyways, the plan was to take off 2 inches ended up being more like 4 I asked for front shorter pieces and got full on curtain bangs. Not to mention I showed a pic of a platinum blonde with her base color peeking through and I ended up with a greyish dirty blonde. Also, the person who got a hair cut before me caused Alex to keep dropping the f bomb and complaining about them wanting their hair shorter and shorter but ended up getting part of it shaved bald. Like ok.. what do you say about me when I leave I already heard what you said while I was sitting there. Anyone can have an off day but that's not the first time I've heard him badmouthing clients but this was the worst yet not to mention not delivering after he said he could my hair to look like the pic in that appointment. Transparancy is a way better approach so people don't leave disappointed just saying.

I had my hair done by a stylist named Veronica. I found her on IG under the name BlondeByVeronica…read more I left 2 stars for Salty Roots pretty décor otherwise zero stars for Blonde by Veronica's ridiculous prices! My first communication with Veronica was attempting to make an appointment. She was booked into next month but some how managed to get me in that week without going on a cancellation list. I thought I was very lucky to get in right away. My appointment was at 1:30 but I was pushed back three times. By the time I sat in her chair it was 3:30 (2 hours later). First red Flag! I was surprised to meet such a young girl who referred to herself as a hair color expert. I sat in her chair. She complimented my Louis Vuitton bag and we briefly discussed partial highlights with olaplex, a toner, blow out and her suggested add on's. I was prepared to pay 250. for her "expertise". So, when she wrote the price break down on the back of the consent form I was SHOCKED! She wrote a small breakdown totaled at 395.00-450.00 (See pic). Second red flag! I immediately let her know that was not going to work for me. I was prepared to pay 250. tops! She agreed and cut out the add on's. We agreed on partial highlights, toner, trim and blow dry. She started the process at 3:38pm. I know the exact time because I texted my friend while she was mixing the bleach to tell him about her price gouging. We joked that we should quit our jobs and become hair dressers . Veronica and I had good conversation. She asked what I did for a living and we discussed many fun topics. She seemed like a sweet young girl. I felt very relaxed and excited to see the results of my hair. She placed foils on the crown of my head (not the back or sides, just on the top with a few on the front of my hairline. After sitting under heat for some time, we went to the bowl to rinse out the bleach. While she was washing and toning my hair she asked me what kind of cut I wanted. I said, just a trim, nothing fancy. She left me at the bowl for another 10 mins or so then came back Here's where things go left.... When she returned to do the final rinse her energy had clearly changed! She seemed anxious and in a bug hurry. She asked me if I wanted a blow out OR trim? I asked her to repeat herself a few times because I was not understanding. I was truly concerned and figured maybe something happened where she had to leave in a hurry. This wasn't the case as she rudely made it clear she had spent too much time on my hair (2 hours and 20 mins) and her time is money! So, she could only trim OR blow dry but not both! Another red flag! I asked her why she didn't tell me that during the consultation? She had no reply but kept saying she didn't charge me enough money! Since when is 100. per hour not a good enough wage? Something very suspicious going on here. ok now I'm pissed. We started bickering at the bowl! I reminded her I was her last appointment and she pushed back my time 2 hours later! Being in the service industry for the last 30 years I let her know real quick that I was not going to be treated disrespectfully and that she was being very unprofessional! After spending less than 3 hours in this salon, I left angered with wet hair! As I was leaving, she sarcastically said "good luck!" Here is the bottom line, This girl wants to charge Hollywood prices in St Pete. In hindsight, it's evident she is only on the hunt for clients to pay her exorbitant prices! Her money grubbing, price gouging is pitiful and desperate! I do NOT recommend Veronica!

Apparently she left the salon between my last visit and this one. I took a half a day off of work, drove the 30+ minutes to the salon, only to be told Chelsea's not there anymore and I no longer have an appointment. No call, text, or email (all of which they have and have used in the past) telling me my appointment was canceled. No heads up that my stylist left and asking if I wanted to switch to another one. Nothing. The receptionist was polite and let me know the manager wasn't in but she would let her know to contact me. I received a call later saying they would try to get me in with another master stylist - but then they asked what services I was getting! Chelsea is a master stylist - we talk about what we want to do, she makes it happen. I don't want or need to know the name of the services it goes under - I just want it done. I have spent thousands of dollars at this salon between my haircuts and color, my daughter's haircuts and tinsel application, and purchasing products. For them to cancel my appointment with no communication and then to apparently have no information available about my normal processes is just too much. While the stylists are lovely, the management is terrible. Find a stylist at a different Aveda salon where they value their customers.
