Honestly, if you ever decide to get a haircut from Charlene, please think twice. Not only she cut my son's hair into a helmet shape, she has no idea how to fade the back of men's heads. The back of my son's head looks like a chunk is missing. Now we have to find someone else to fix her mistake. What a waste of money and time. read more

Stylecuts - Back of the hair - Hair Salons Near Me - Waltham, Massachusetts

I was a walk in, but there was no one in the salon. I was directed to the chair to get my hair cut and the chair had not been clean from the last person. The Velcro on the cape had all kinds of hair and lint stuck in it. I was not super specific about what I wanted for a cut but gave the stylist a good description and pictures. I got a a hair cut not at all like the pictures I showed, and the shorter parts of the cut have long hairs coming out in all places. It was not trimmed around the ears or neck line. Just a careless cut in general. I will not go there again, paid a good amount for a careless cut, that I do not like and had to pay at another salon to get it fixed, now I have a super short cut and no way to style it until it grows out. Not much style from style cuts. read more

HATED NEVER EVER GO THIS IS A WARNING, i went there for a 1 INCH cut off you know a trim and i don't know her name but she cut 6 INCHES of this is not okay i can barley put it in a braid anymore and not to mention i have to straighten it everyday because it is even shorter when it is curly which is my natural hair IM SO MAD NEVER GOING BACK THANKS TO THIS LADY!!! read more

More than once I had the first appointment and no one showed up for 30 minutes or more. If they knew there was a problem it would have been nice to get an update or cancellation before I drove there. Unreliable and disappointing. As for the haircuts, I have had many different stylists. Some are good while others are mediocre. read more

Today was not good. The haircuts are pretty pricey here - $30 for a boy's cut. The hairstylist was new, and she did a very poor job on each of my kids. One of my boys asked her to stop cutting, but she told him that she was going to keep going with what he had originally asked for. We had had a good haircut in the past from Yolanda, but this other stylist was REALLY bad. My kids are both super unhappy. read more

Stylecuts - Wordt haircut ever - Hair Salons Near Me - Waltham, Massachusetts

The Waltham facility is clean and well 'groomed.' All the stylists have done a very job on me--as a 77 year old balding male that remains quite active and quite in shape. Charlene provides a mens haircut, a 'Camo' coloring then dry. Always perfect, or close to perfect, for the past several years... Stan., Weston, Mass. read more

Good cut from a nice person. Love how it looks, and will definitely come back again Lots of lunch choices nearby as well! read more

I've been going to this location (Charlene) for over 4 years now! Always happy with the haircut, the attention to detail is what brings me back each time! read more

I'm a pretty low-maintenence kind of girl, so I gotta love a cheap haircut that looks good. And no wait for an appointment either. The girl who cut my hair (Tina I think) was super nice and also hooked me up with coupons (on top of an already great price). Defintiely a safe bet for people who are just looking for a basic cut. EDIT...I went back for a second cut about a week ago. The girl cutting my hair (Amanda this time) was super sweet, but the manager who rang me up was a jackass and over-charged me. Huge thumbs down. read more

Called about 10 mins before I headed over - they took my name. I showed-up and two women were working. They both greeted me with a smile. The place is clean with personal TVs. The price is very reasonable. It seems to be mostly Waltham office park workers looking for a quick haricut. My haircut came out exceptional. I got a rinse after, so I could go back to work without feeling itchy. They also allowed me to style my hair. Easy, quick, affordable, and geared toward business professionals. read more

Flew in Boston for work. And guess what, the TSA took my hair conditioner. Had a quarter size of emergency conditioner & used hotel's. Well after attempting to blow dry it, split ends & breakage -ville just didn't help the awful version of Shakira-do. Shops were closed already. The next morning, ponytail all day at the office. Bad. Hair. Day. On way back from office, I saw this place. So I walked in & didn't have appointment. Please do something with my hair, I begged. Then a nice guy named Mark took the time to explain to me the different products that would help revive my hair. He was genuinely kind in educating me the process. I feel better that there's hope. Jenn did the Keratin treatment on my hair, wash & styled my hair. She did a fantastic job. She was pleasant the entire time, encouraging me on avoiding getting highlights until the hair is back to healthy again. When it was done, I smiled huge! And Mark even gave me a travel size strengthening shampoo. My goodness!! Are all Bostonians this nice?? Great service and the price is so affordable!! I may have to come here just to get my hair done when I'm back in town ... Thank you Mark & Jenn !! read more

I wasn't expecting a styled haircut when I came in for an emergency hair cut with no appointment. I just needed my mane cut off and was too unsure about how to do it myself. I told the girl (dark, wavy hair, short, pretty), whose name I forget but am such a fan now, that I needed it shortened and layered if possible. She calmly went through what she would do and she did that and more! My hair came out beautifully cut and styled and I was really happy with her work. Asian hair does not lend itself to hair cutting mistakes and she did an amazing job making all the layers, and angles and side bangs look perfect. She was friendly, but not too in my business and really made me feel comfortable and confident about being in her hands. Even more I was out in about 20 min! I spent $20 for a wash and cut and it was the best hair deal I've ever got. Of course a blow dry would cost more but I didn't need one. read more

I personally like this place for the price with a $2 coupon, it is 12.95 for a good haircut. Michelle, I guess, did my hair twice and rocked both times. I would go there without a doubt. For the person with wet hair comments and who gave it a 1 star, could you possible ask for a towel and dry your hair which is less damaging than the hot air from the dryer. Yes, I have been to a better barbershop, but still I prefer this place for the price. read more

This place rocks. Affordable, clean, and attentive service. The best part: TV's right next to the mirror. I watched a good part of the Red Sox World Series Parade on my lunch break! read more

This place is terrible for female haircuts. I asked the hairstylist, Charlene, to layer my hair because I wanted more volume. It was supposed to be a simple haircut because it doesn't require precision. Instead of vertically layering my hair with the top layers cut shorter than the layers beneath. The hairstylist cut my hair into two horizontal sections where the top layer is right above my ears with a clear line separating the top and the bottom layer. It looks like I have the Great Wall of China on the back of my head. I was mortified! I came in with long hair. Since the top layer is so high up, there is no way of saving it unless I cut my hair just below my ears. Because it takes 2 months to grow an inch, I am looking at 6 months before my hair is back to normal. I honestly advise female customers to stay away from this place. If the stylist doesn't understand what layering means, you can't expect them to do anything more advance. read more

Never again.... For guys: the basic cut is 14.99$ (which includes water to wet your hair and the cut). You then leave with soaking wet hair. To cut and dry they charge 31$ !!! So, in the dead of winter, it will cost you 31$ if you don't want to freeze to death outside... Also, they don't smile, don't talk to you and don't brush the cut hairs off your face or neck; you get to take those home. However, the cut was decent. Overall, I've never seen such poor service ... go to a real barber shop. read more

After scheduling two appointments at the same time for my niece and I Upon arrival I was told my "consultant" was running behind and so was my nieces. After waiting for over a half hour they finally took my niece while I was still waiting. After over am hour I was told that the person taking care of my nieces color would take care of my hair. She then decided that my treatment would take too long to be done along with my nieces. Over two hours now we are still waiting for my nieces color to take and I am not getting my treatment. Do not give th any business I certainly won't be back read more

After my barber closed up in 2007 in Waltham I had to find a new place. I prefer an actual Barber shop, however I really needed a hair cut and went to Stylecuts. Overall, this place really depends on who you have cutting your hair. Kristine is the best, she's friendly, once you get her talking. However I have had a few new girls who act like they just got out of beauty school. Far from practiced, but my hair cut is generally pretty easy, at least I would think so when it's a military hair cut (modified high and tight aka not so high but yes nice and tight). Yes they have TV's there, so if your not using the clippers you can watch the news or whatever's on. They do offer an assortment of up chargers, such as a neck shave (which my old Barber did for free) shampoo and put product in your hair. They do take appointments as well and you can request one of the stylist if she's working that day. I say she because the only man I've ever seen working there seems to be more management or owner than stylist. Overall it's good enough for me to come back to get my hair cut, but I wouldn't recommend my wife going for something more elaborate. read more

I mean you can NOT beat this for 19.95 for wash and cut. Shana did a great job and was fast and thorough and listened to exactly what I wanted. She also offered tons of tips on how to style curly hair and didn't try to sell me $60 products. Would def go back! read more

Erika in the Stylecuts Natick location is the best with boys' haircuts! My son has difficult hair, and she cut it into a style that is both easy to care for and cool for an eleven year old boy. We've tried for years to find someone who could cut his hair successfully, and now we won't go anywhere else. At $16.95, it's a great deal, too! Thanks for helping us conquer the cowlicks! read more

Good price, good haircut. Fine by me! I usually schedule an appointment, just so I don't have to wait. I did the Keratin Express treatment once, don't think it really did much, but for a simple haircut (nothing fancy), this is definitely a good place to go (and watch tv at the same time!). read more

First off, I get a basic finger length on top, 1-2 clippers on the side cut. Pretty basic haircut, but trust me it's not impossible to mess up. Saying that Stylecuts has never butchered my mane. I simply tell the stylist what I want and get exactly what I asked for. There are TVs at each chair, I typically catch the news. All the stylists have been very friendly to me. I typically have little to no wait when I arrive. I prefer Stylecuts over any other shop in Waltham. read more

I really like them here. They have done my highlights and cut twice. They are very professional, not snobby or pushy, and the end results are great! They also cut my 4 year old son's hair and they were very patient and also thorough. I have had 3 or 4 different stylists and I liked them all. Great price for great results. 5 stars from me! read more

Stylist incapable of trimming beards. Wasted 30 min waiting for a hair cut that never happened. For those that don't have beards, understand that in 15 years this is the first stylist I've every encountered (among dozens and dozens) that couldn't trim a beard. Seems like a basic requirement of the job. read more

Men's cuts: Value is very good. I don't mind paying $20 for a solid haircut, neck shave and shampoo (which isn't just a quick wash, they get in there for a solid minute or two). I always go for the combo for the value. I have had several different stylists and have never had a bad cut. The stylists are friendly and engaging, but take the hint if you'd just like to stay quiet and watch TV. Like any chain, the quality will be varying depending on the stylist, so you have to look at the overall value and consistency. At the end of the day, I would never go to a Supercuts or Great Cuts again if StyleCuts is an option. The one con I would say is that they should make it a hot neck shave, either by using a hot towel or heating the shaving cream. That would just make it a notch better. read more

This is the 3rd visit with rude service and I walked out. NO CUSTOMERS WAITING - "You can sit and I'll be with you shortly" - what am I a dog. After which I got up and walked out since they don't seem to need the business. My last cut was less than appealing at least buy a co read more

Poor client management. I was a walk-in without appointment and upon arrival was told that nobody was in front of me but one person had called ahead for an appointment at the same time. He was already 10 minutes late but they wanted to give him a few more minutes to show up. After 15 minutes of keeping me waiting (which would have been enough time to finish my buzz cut style) the customer walks in and I get bumped back. So far so good. I was told to wait for another 10 min or so. 20 min later the gentleman's haircut is done and I was expecting to get called up next. Not so fast, Mr.! Because by then the next scheduled customer was supposed to arrive - who was also late. They kept me waiting again and bumped me back another time when the second customer walked in. Frustrated, I left without having my hair cut. Had I known about this I would have left the moment I walked in, but originally I was told to wait 10 min. I felt that was poor management of client stream. The people who run this place have yet a great deal to learn. read more

Good haircuts. Jen is great and real cute too and there are a few other cuties there as well.

Style cuts did an awesome job on my hair, the price was great, staff was friendly and each station had a TV. I had never seen anything like it before. The shop was very clean and they take walk ins which was great too. My stylist was Lisa, she was easy to talk to, very personable, very young and pretty and cut my hair exactly as I asked, which I have no luck back home getting that done. Thanks Lisa I love you and style cuts and I will be back for another cut next time I'm in the area. Great job! read more

I thought this place was great. They have plasma TV's at the stations so I ended up watching the Red Sox pre-game while getting a hair cut. The girl cutting was hair was friendly and gave me a nice cut. She seemed like she had a lot of experience. And you can't beat the price. You would expect to pay a lot more for a place like this. Definitely a bargain. Also, it was very clean. I mean VERY clean. I definitely recommend it. read more

I needed a touch of color because my greys were coming in. I also needed a chance in hair style. Basically an update. I had researched salons with decent prices. I decided to go with Stylecuts. The second I walked in I felt comfortable. First this salon is very clean and second they have TV's on every station. I have never experienced this before. I sat on my chair and gave my stylist my concerns I want a change but not a huge one, I am conservative and she understood. I usually feel pressured but she made me feel comfortable and the result were more than I could of imagined. The staff was great, the salon was so clean and I think he was the owner asked me how my experience was? I am definitely coming back along with my 3 kids and husband. This is a true gem. Thank you Stylecuts for making a busy mom feel special and making me look beautiful. read more
