I was pleasantly surprised when I called to see if they had a cancellation for the day as I was leaving town shortly and they fit me in pretty much right away! The place is easy to find right amidst the downtown strip of businesses. Parking can be sparse close by during peak tourist season. Inside, decor is unremarkable but undistracting. Everyone was pleasant and not overly fake nice. My stylist, (her name unfortunately escapes me as this is the first time we've met, I'll update later) was great. She gave me tips and seemed genuinely interested in my responses to her questions about myself. Much like the healthcare industry, they have too adopted the streamline distribution of duties/tasks in order to maximize volume. You will most likely have 2 different people helping with your style when clients are overlapped. As with everything else increasing, I feel a $60 charge for taking a couple inches off and a few wisps of long layers around the face and a blow dry is a bit exorbitant but these are the times we live in now. All in all, I was happy with the results and my experience and greatful for their willingness to accommodate me on short notice. I'd return again! read more

This review is for Stephanie and my tinted eye lashes as well as a Brazilian wax. I've had waxing done by four different people through the years and I have to say hands down Stephanie is the best! I wanted her before we got started that I was a big chicken and she said no worries! Well, she made me feel like a rockstar because she was virtually painless! I didn't squint, Yelp, crinkle my face, nothing! Other awesome benefits include: awesome personality, does NOT double dip (which is a very important quality for me), and was very professional. I really wish I could pack her up in my luggage and take her back home with me! She also tinted my eye lashes. That was my first time and I didnt know what to expect. It was a fairly subtle transformation, yet it was just enough to help my face for those many days when I decide NOT to wear make-up! The Stylebar is home to a very professional and friendly staff. The owner is a lot of fun. She listened to what I wanted and did exactly that to my hair. They offer blowouts, cuts, color, brows and eyelashes, spray tanning and massages. They always offer me a drink; mimosas, beer, water, etc. If you're looking to pamper yourself, this is a great place to do it. I've already scheduled my next appointment! read more

I had a massage from Emily at the Stylebar. Let me rephrase: I had a life changing experience from Emily. I like firm pressure and am so used to telling a masseuse that and then just having them rub their hands over my back. Not Emily. It was absolutely the perfect mix of therapeutic and relaxing. I have chronic neck pain and muscle spasms and haven't gone a day in at least a year without pain. The day after my massage from Emily, I had AN ENTIRE DAY free of neck and shoulder pain. I have waited about six months to write this as I was soooo livid over the summer. I setup hair and makeup appointments here for my wedding on Schweitzer. After receiving a confirmation email the week of my wedding, I was not concerned about my appointment, but when we arrived, they were not prepared for us. They thought I had cancelled, because the wedding at the CDA location cancelled (although I had confirmed via their email system). The poor girl who was the only one in the shop was panicked upon checking their computer and seeing a large appointment for my wedding party, she made some calls, and got started. Then, the real problem started. Rather than getting a call and coming in immediately to support a wedding, both of the women who came in did their own makeup and hair first which I know, because they both mentioned it to me. That meant no one showed up for over an hour to help. That is entirely unacceptable. In the end, one of the women ended up having to drive three of us up the mountain. The whole thing was a disaster. It delayed my whole wedding day, cut down on picture time, my hair was not great and all the curls had to be redone before the ceremony as they had fallen out, and to top it off they charged all of us full price for hair and makeup. I would not trust this company with my wedding day again. read more
