5.75 hours. That's how long I was at this place to get a simple cut & color (with light foils). Appointment was at 9a, Emily (owner/stylist) was half hour late due to HER confusion with a different client. I told her what I wanted: that I liked my grey, I wanted a foil to lighten the drab natural brown still in my hair, and she ended up talking me into an all over DARKER color with highlights. After she went over lots of suggestions and coloring science, the strong impression I got was that the color she was applying would be vibrant even if it was slightly darker than my natural color, and not stick to my grey (since grey hair doesn't absorb the dye). I specifically asked for "color that is vibrant and harmonious with my grey [silver!] hair." I also added that I wanted a highlight shade slightly lighter than my natural brown to avoid grow-out issues because I am not made of money and can't afford to keep getting roots touched up and don't want dark hair! She made a big deal about how I'm too young to be grey, to which I adamantly disagreed. At 10:30 I was still sitting there waiting to get started. Let me also add that she arrived drinking an energy drink and had two more while I was there. She talked fast and fairly non-stop. When it was all said and done, I had hair that was way too dark for my complexion and zero grey! I felt like she railroaded me with her "professional opinions". I will say that the cut was decent. NO ONE in my circle of family and friends likes this color on me. I tried to like it, but after a few days I texted her, asking for her to fix it. She responded that she was under the impression I loved it. (I never said anything like that. I simply asked what happened to my grey and she said "I thought you wanted a darker color!" No, Emily, YOU wanted me to have a darker color.) She responded around bedtime saying sorry, she'll get back to me. Next day she texted saying she can't lighten the dark color except with lots of highlights and would call me when she had a break. That was almost a week ago. She ghosted me. I gave her many chances to get back to me and make it right. Since I have a wedding to attended in less than a week, I now get the joy of driving 1.5 hours away to pay MORE to get it fixed in time. It goes without saying that I do NOT recommend her services. I chose her because she was close to where I live and I'm disabled so driving is a hardship for me. Lesson learned. read more
