This was my first professional hair cut I ever had. The barber I came to see was very sweet, and gave me exactly the cut I wanted. They had upbeat music, and seemed to have a very good team. The barbers were very nice, and all chatted with each other a lot, and seemed to have a very good work environment. I will be coming back very soon to get another haircut. read more

I had stopped in at the Ponderay Great Clips a few years ago. Mo ome said "Hello". The staff looked at me like I was pond scum. Last week I thought I would try them again. I walked in, a young woman, Tonya, was at the cash register. She cheerfully said "Welcome to Great Clips!". I said that was a big change from a few years ago. She gave me a wonderful haircut, fixing what someone else, not me, had done to my hair. I will go back and have Tonya cut my hair. read more

I'm one of those guys that needs a haircut every three to four weeks. Unfortunately, for me my last barber was charging $40+ for a cut and a beard trim. Appointments were usually booked out 4-6 weeks in advance making it very inflexible. Then I met Bethany at Great Clips and I'll never go back. You get a great haircut whenever it fits into your schedule. All the staff are super friendly and work to get you a cut that you want. Just had my final haircut here. Got the OK from the "stylist" that she understood what I wanted. Next thing I feel a #5 buzz going up the center my the back of my head. NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO WHAT I ASKED FOR!!!! She tried and failed to fix it... I'm in entertainment and now have to walk around with an effed up haircut for 2 months. Had my wife try to salvage what she could, but even the fix up looks horrific. read more

I really want to give a 2 star rating but the problem isn't "that you've experienced better" the problem is you'll wish you hadn't gone in at all, but by then it will have been to late. On the plus side, Great Clips has given me the push I've needed for years to find a stylist I like and stick with them instead of rolling the dice on people as they pass through a chain haircut salon. +These negative reviews don't by any means reflect the stylist personally they are a symptom of the busines model and not the individuals. read more

I don't see why people give this place such bad reviews. They are AWESOME! Quick, convenient and super cheap. I've never paid under $20 for a haircut- ever. The stylist, I believe it was Jennifer... maybe Stephanie (I'm terrible at remembering names), only charged me $8! The salon keeps up with clean Covid guidelines. She sanitized her work station before I got in the seat and I was in & out within fifteen minutes. Can't stress enough how friendly and nice the salon environment is. Do not go here unless you know who is good and who isn't. I've had good experiences here in the past but I got my haircut today and asked for layers. Instead I got a haircut that looks like it was done with an axe, I look like Jennifer Aniston in the first season of friends mixed with a mom who let her kid at her hair (I'm a teenage girl so you can see how looking like a mom would be upsetting). I'm so upset... the ugliest I've ever felt. EDIT: I went back and had Jennifer fix my hair, she did a wonderful job and I'm so relieved. I stopped by today to get a hair cut, fortunately my hair grows back quickly so I'm "ok" with the assembly line style hair cuts they give! They are not "Great" but just ok, today I was met with a snotty rude trailer park dweller demanding my phone number, I refuse to give my phone number to these "people" I'll hold the unnecessary mask up over my face even though I have a health condition & restricting my air flow increases the stress on my system, but I will not give these "people" my phone number, I do not know them & you can be sure that they would not give me theirs (there is zero difference). I realize it's most likely their "manager" who makes these insane demands about masks & requiring a phone number (which I'm sure they are claiming it's so they can notify me if I'm exposed to the fictional COVID-19 at their business, I'm obviously not buying into that BS). Avoid this place like the plague at all costs, let them go under then maybe another mediocre assembly line hair "salon" will take their place! read more

Well, when you streamline your haircut you get what you pay for. They should put a NOT SO in front of their sign. It's almost like there's no requirement to cut hair. I guess if you can hold a pair of trimmers in your hand you are qualified. read more

I moved to town in March of 2019 and had to find a new place to get my cut, since traveling 14 hours to see my normal girl was not an option. They have an online early check in which helps get your name on the list even before you get there. Saves you anywhere from 15 to 30 min because they can get pretty popular at times. My favorite stylist is Holly. She listens to what I ask for and understands the look I'm trying to express. They take notes in the computer after every cut, so that the next time I come in they can remind me and themselves of what we did last time and if we want anything different. My son....who is half Puerto Rican....loved coming here to have his hair done. The last time and it will be the last time we are there , he was told no one knew how to do his hair. There were 4 stylists on the floor . They came to me and said there was no way they could do his hair. They turned us away and I will never, EVER go back. My son felt like a leper! I have been going to Ponderay Great Clips for over a year. The women who work there are friendly and competent (for the most part) but my one big complain is that they talk way too much amongst themselves while they are cutting hair!!!! I have talked to other people who feel the same way. Come on people, we want you to pay attention to our hair when you are cutting it, not be talking to your co-worker about what your kids did or where you are going to dinner. read more

I've been using their services for a long time and it has been very good until 3 weeks ago. I went in and was told the stylist didn't know how to do a razor cut. I told her to use scissors then. She stripped the back so short that it was less than 1/2 an inch long up to the top of my head. It was sheared. Then she left a little bird feather thing in the back/top of my head sticking up. The front was all wet from her spray bottle. She combed it over to the side and said, "I'm done!" It was 30 degrees out and I'm 80 years old. She couldn't find a hair dryer and sent me out with a wet head. In 3 days I was very ill with bronchitis. THIS THE WORST HAIR CUT I've EVER HAD! THIS NO NAME PERSON HAS RED DYED HAIR WITH ABOUT 4 INCES GROWING OUT, BLACK. AVOID HER AT ALL COST. My husband almost fainted when he saw the terrible cut. He wanted to buy me a wig! This person must not have a license to cut hair. Beware! The next day was my birthday and I was devastated. read more

Haircut is overpriced for the job, but decent. The wait is horrible! I checked in online an hour before I arrived, but still sat 30 minutes before I walked out. Not to mention the check-in lady was rude about how busy they were. I'm sorry for trying to do business here. I'll definitely go somewhere else from here on out. read more
