I've been going to Courtney for about 13 years, that last 11 of which I drive from the South Hill of Spokane to Sandpoint for her to do my hair. she's the absolute BEST at getting a natural coppery auburn, red with highlights like my hair used to be naturally. I go to Alex, beautiful blonde gal. I was super nervous about letting anyone cut my hair as my aunts have always done it my whole life. I explained to Alex that my hair is super thick and i'm tired of it! I wanted it thinned and layers but was super super scared to trust anyone (especially since my hair had never been thinned out) ... It's officially a year later and my hair is the healthiest it's been, the longest it's been in years and so beautiful. She does above and beyond when it comes to my hair and hears my needs, we recently spiced it up with some face layers and I could not be happier!! I LOOOOOVE Syringa Salon. I moved here from Scottsdale, AZ and had a terrible time finding a hairdresser that was as good as the one I went to in Phoenix. After many color sessions from awful stylists, I found Molly Benefield. She listened to what I wanted, gave me her expert opinion, and worked with me to get the right look. FINALLY. Molly is one of the few stylists in Sandpoint that actually keeps up on current trends. Plus, her personality is dynamite. Got a wonderful haircut from Tracy in this very cute salon while I was visiting from out of town! It was clear Tracy was very experienced (she used to work in Seattle as a stylist) and she listened to what I wanted. I have thin blonde hair and she did a great job giving me a cut that creates volume but looks good with just a wash and a comb. It seems that all the stylists work independently, so it was difficult to get someone on the phone at the salon, but they did return my call. I assume that most clients know their stylists and schedule directly with them, but since I was from out of town, it took a little more effort to get an appointment, as the first person I scheduled with canceled. If I went there again, I would definitely go back to Tacy. read more

It's taking me a while to decide what I wanted to write. I have been going there to the salon for a while. Ali is the person that always did my hair. I'm just going to be short and sweet I don't want to say too much about the situation. I just feel like I need to let everybody know that the last time I saw her, she did a color touch up and she was supposed to redo my highlights, she was having a hard time with her personal life and she just really screwed up my hair. I also felt like she did not even really care about what she did. I sent her pictures and everything. She told me to relax and whatever happened it'll wash out she never took any responsibility for messing up my hair. I had to get somebody else to fix it. I do not recommend anybody go see her however, I am not in the business of ruining peoples lives. Maybe other people can give her a chance and maybe she'll do them well. I found this Salon from researching local Salon's on the web and scheduled an appointment this morning. This Salon got me in for a haircut by 2:00 p.m on the same day. I described what type of stylist that I wanted and they scheduled me with the best stylist that I could have anticipated. The stylist name was Abby Slough. This stylist exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds! I am not an easily pleased person and I would even say sometimes unrealistic on my expectations. I told her how I wanted my hair style to be and she literally cut my hair exactly like the person in the photo that I shared with her. Her haircut was so precise that it made me laugh in conjunction with being very satisfied. If your looking for one of the best hair stylist in Sandpoint Idaho, she definitely get's my vote! Went there by a friend's recommendation. No one answered the phone so I left few v/m's to Courtney after a week or so Ali returned my call after I had left another message and a private message on their Facebook page. A week later Courtney finally returned my call saying she's on vacation, interesting nothing on the recording stated that she was on vacation. Ali and I went over my coloring, etc. 1st and 2nd time apt's no issues, color came out good. I don't blow dry my hair since it's very long and I don't have the time always going back to work. I put my hair on a bun and off I go. About a week ago I made another apt with Ali, when she started coloring my roots she was very aggressive with my hair, lots of pulling. Then came time to wash my hair, same thing very aggressive handling my hair, she finished and I proceeded to dry my hair with the towel and placing it into a bun as I always do for the last 10 years. Without going back to her chair I noticed my hair was tangled but I had few tangles before, as I paid my bill she offered me a tiny bottle of some leave in conditioner (weird). I thank her and left, back to work I went. I went to the bathroom to comb by hair that's when I noticed the huge mess! The right side half bottom of my hair was terribly tangled! Like it was put into a knot. I put some deep conditioner all over my hair put back into a bun and back to work, after about an hour I started trying to comb it again, no way I couldn't even put a wide tooth comb through it. I jumped in the shower placed more conditioner and tried again, nothing. At this point not knowing what to do next, I texted Ali, in the mean time my husband left to get me baby oil. When he returned I tried it- nothing. Back into the shower to rinse everything out again. Next, I have Paul Mitchel ginger oil, I put a huge amount of the oil on all the knots and started to press the knots trying to loosen up. After 4 hours, it finally started to give in and I was able to part tiny parts of my hair little by little. At the end I was left I with a hand full of broken hair in my hands but I was able to save my long hair! I'm sure my hair got knotted in the tub as she washed it, having long colored hair my hair should be treated with lots of care and discipline not rough and careless. Ali's reply was- she did nothing different to my hair, with only apologizes nothing else we ended our conversation. Yesterday, I received my credit card bill (full charge), I texted her asking if she was going to adjust my bill, as today's date no reply. read more
