If I could leave less than 1 star as a review I would. I reached out to the owner of the Salon, Crystal, and I explained what I was looking for in my hair. I gave very specific details on what has been done to my hair before. I even went in for a consultation, where we discussed my hair and did a test strand to see how it would lighten. I came in for my appointment. Crystal was running 10 minutes late. Crystal was extremely unprofessional, and complained about having to work 7 days in a row, how she works long hours, and how she frequently is not able to eat during the day. She would frequently walk away from me in the chair to have a conversation with other people in the salon. She was frequently texting on her watch while dying my hair. The smock fell off of my during my session and she commented that she "almost got dye on my shirt." While I was under the heat lamp, she said she was going to go outside to eat her lunch, and she would be back in 15 minutes. Leaving me completely alone in the salon. She told me that the automatic lights will shut off since there is no movement in the salon and that she didn't want me to be alarmed when I was sitting in the dark. She sprayed me with water multiple times while washing my hair. She told me she will need me to come back the following day so she can take an "after photo," since she couldn't take one that day due to the sun already being down. She did not ask me if I could come back, she was very demanding that I NEED to come back. After she finished my hair, I very politely explained that, "I hate to do this to you, but this is MUCH darker than I anticipated." Crystal's demeanor immediately changed to be extremely defensive. She had me pull up my inspiration photo, and said that the girl has dark hair in the photo. She spoke down to me, saying, "oh maybe you wanted an ombre, do you know what that is?" And then pulled up an ombre photo on her phone. I explained that I did not want an ombre, but I did want my hair to be lighter. She told me that she had to correct my hair, and completely gas lit my concerns. I asked her when she could fix it, she reluctantly pulled up her phone and gave me a date a week away, but she did not book the appointment. She told me that it is because of the lighting in the salon and because it is dark outside, so the lighting does not look like the photo, and I should "not worry about it, and not freak out." She then explained that normally she asks clients to not wash their hair for 48 hours, but, "maybe if I wash my hair sooner, it will make a difference." While explaining all of this, she was sitting down in a chair behind the register. She did not get up once to look at my hair. Then she proceeded to tell me that that total is $455.00, before tip. My booking said the price was $180+. Now, I am well aware that there might be additional services that cost more, however, there was ZERO communication of price increase before, or during my appointment. The next day, I attempted to call her, which she did not pick up and attempted to make time to come in and speak with her. Over text, she told me she was free between 1:00-1:15pm. When I told her that I already had plans during that time, she told me that was the only time she had. She was very cold and dismissive. Overall, I do not recommend this salon, and more specially, I do not recommend Crystal, the owner/stylist to touch anyones hair. She will overcharge you, not provide a quality service, and then gaslight you when you try to express your concerns about your hair. Oh, on top of that, after paying $455 for a botched coloring, three parts of my forehead are stained. read more
