I purchased extensions from Madi Carter in September 2023 with a "50% off all move-ups" deal. Initially, everything was great, but issues began when she started triple-booking herself everyday, ignored my appointment requests, and made scheduling as difficult as possible. In November, I waited 35 minutes at my scheduled time, only to discover she booked me on the wrong day. Subsequent attempts to contact her for an appointment were met with unresponsiveness, leading me to consider other stylists. She even posted available appointments on Instagram, and ignored when I expressed interest in a spot or any spots at all. Despite my full availability for January, Madi claimed scheduling conflicts, and suggested I find another stylist. She didn't want to schedule me in since she's clearly greedy, and didn't want to stick to her word of the original 50% off deal for all move up services. I do not recommend booking with Madi Carter. The salon is beautiful but the unprofessionalism and lack of communication was disappointing. My conversation with the owner, Hayley Haxton, failed to yield a resolution, as she incorrectly blamed the issues on my scheduling conflicts, despite concrete evidence showing Madi's lack of responsiveness. I was extremely disappointed in how I was treated at Modish by the owner, Haley and my stylist Juliet. I have been Juliet's client for almost half a year. She has been doing my color and extensions. My hair is super fine and whenever my extensions would come undone at the corners Juliet has been great about getting me in and fixing it. That being said, last Thursday I had to come in again because one side came undone so I needed it fixed. Last minute my husband had to leave for work so I had to take my 2 daughters with me. When Juliet and Haylee saw the girls w me they did not look happy but didn't say anything. As my girls, 4 and 6, set upfront quietly drawing, Juliet started doing my hair. Half way through, extensions off and beads placed back in, my daughter asked me to use the restroom. I took her and when we got back to my surprise Juliet tells me I need to leave now. She proceeded to take my hair beads out while telling we need to leave because kids aren't allowed in the salon. When I asked why not, they aren't causing any trouble, I was told because it's a code violation and a safety hazard and the salon could get in trouble. So I ask to talk to Haley the owner. Haley proceeds to tell me the same thing. But I, as someone who has a hair license, know that it is not true, it's not a code violation and I tell her that. To which she proceeds to tell me it's against their policy rules. Ive have never seen their policy rules and if that's the case I should have been told that as soon as I got there, not half way through my appointment. Anyway, I got kicked out of her salon in the middle of the service all because I had my kids there. I understand that maybe they don't want kids there, it's her salon and she can make her own rules. But I had to go in because my extensions were hanging half way off on one side hurting my head and I needed it fixed. On top of it all neither Haley nor Juliet seemed apologetic about needing me to leave. Kicking me out after half of a service because my daughters were there( sitting quietly) was a bit absurd and discriminatory. Very upsetting tht I was treated like that n have my kids witness it. Modish is being portrayed as a top notch salon, but it's been clear that they don't care about their clients, just about having a certain image and having sky high prices. read more

Most of my hair is grey and due to the hurricanes (2024) I was way past due for a color and I needed new extensions. I obsess about my hair and I'm super picky after previous bad experiences. I am and was not an easy case for Angi but she nailed it like the pro she is! Angi gave me the best custom color treatment I've ever had. Seriously amazing! I never leave negative reviews, but the girls that are looking to come here to feel beautiful need a heads up about what I went through. My stylist was Stacey Turner. She did my hair multiple times and I was always happy with the results. I decided to ask for something a little bit different than the blonde highlights I usually get. I wanted something a little bit darker. We did a darker gloss after the usual highlight to tone it down. I wasn't a huge fan of it, it wasn't really what I wanted. It was really unflattering. I didn't want to say anything in the chair because I was afraid of her reaction (foreshadowing) and I'm super non-confrontational. But I guess she could see it on my face that I didn't like it. She told me "It's ok, it will lighten up after a couple of washes!" followed by her jokingly saying "I'm not bleaching it back for you, so you're gonna have to accept your dark blonde moment!" Weird vibes but ok! So obviously, in my head I'm like "Well, I guess this is in my own hands now, so I'll wash it a couple times like she told me! And it'll be fine!" So after waiting a few days I did just that. The few shampoos I did stripped the color out, but not in the way I needed. It left my roots orange! I texted her a picture confused, and she said "Well, it looks normal to me, it's probably because you washed it too much." So I'm like obviously there was some sort of communication error. At this point it's getting clearer and clearer to me she wasn't willing to help. I ended up biting the bullet and ended up getting it corrected by another stylist. The other stylist did her best, but there were still spots of orange roots. I had another appointment with Stacey already booked for the future, I definitely should have let her go, but she's been my stylist for so long and I wanted to give her a second chance. I send her a message explaining how I had to get it fixed by another stylist, and asked if the orange roots will maybe come out in my next highlight appointment. Not once did I ever ask her for a refund or for her to fix it. The response? A giant wall of text about how we haven't been seeing "eye to eye" on my hair color. And that because I attempted to get it corrected, it's not her responsibility anymore, and drum roll...she canceled all of our future appointments. Which I don't understand, she never made it her responsibility in the first place. When I tried to reach out first she shot me down. I'm not sure what else I was supposed to do! I was so loyal to her, even though she was late literally every single appointment. I paid her thousands of dollars, because when I was in her chair she made me feel like we had an awesome client stylist relationship! She seems very sweet, but when it goes wrong, forget it. I really have no idea how I'm going to trust another stylist again. I was clearly disposable to her as a client. My response to the owners reply is that I don't know where you saw that I was continuously unhappy. I said in the first few sentences of the review that I was always happy with the results before this. It honestly just shows how little you care about your clientele. Do better, for real. read more

Not only is Lacey a talented artist but also a professional, courteous , and gratuitous stylist. So pleased with how my hair turned out. She excels at dimensional color. I had my hair done by Jadi Cave and was completely over charged for a hair cut. I saw the receipt later on showing an extra $65 for a haircut that I never got. When I asked her why she charged $65 for an entire haircut when she trimmed the back bottom of my hair (30 seconds) she told me I am paying for her expertise and weather it is a piece cut off or she shaves my whole head it is $65. Honestly, just sounds completely greedy. Basically she made $130/hr off me for 3 hours of work. I do not mind paying for work done but overcharging a person for something you both know was not worth remotely even $10 of your time is horrible. Make sure to ask before someone what it will cost for a 30 second job before you let them. She completely ruined my experience with this salon. read more

These girls are all so talented and I have never loved my hair so much I get complements everywhere I go and recommend everyone I know to come here. I've been going to Haley for a few years now after having some serious hair disasters. I've bleached my hair for years and had just about every extension method there is, both of which caused severe damage to my hair. What I didn't know, I could still bleach my hair and have extensions and improve the health of my hair. These girls make sure they uphold the integrity of your hair but still get you what you want. My natural hair before coming here was completely broken off and about 6 inches shorter than it is currently. These girls are always keeping up on their trainings and providing the best services to all of their clients. I have often found that some salons have results that only appear good on Instagram, but that is not the case here. My hair is Instagram worthy all the time even with my weak picture taking skills. I never was given the opportunity to usethis salon, but when trying to set up an appointment, I was basically told they were unable to cut my hair because it was wavy/curly and brunette. I had sent a pic of my hair to one stylist who first said she didn't have any availability at the moment but could set something up in future. But, when she saw pics of my hair she suddenly couldn't fit me in and told me to see a curl specialist or ask some of the other stylists at the salon. I tried messaging the salon and was told sorry but none of their stylists are experienced with wavy hair. I was really shocked at this response since I find it very hard to believe. But from this experience it is clear that they are not a welcoming establishment that practices a form of discrimination. Unless you are blonde with straight, baylalged hair with extensions, don't bother calling. It feels like mean girls in middle school all over again! read more
