I purchased a living social deal and made my appointment. I got a message the morning of my appt cancelling because the stylist I was booked with called out. I freaked out... it was my birthday and was going out to dinner later that night. I needed my hair cut. I had it all planned, the big reveal of my drastic cut and my dreams were being crushed with the cancellation. So I asked to speak to the manager. I spoke to Yafa who was kind and understanding to the tantrum I began throwing (sorry Yafa). She told me she could squeeze me in much later in the day. I was desperate and accepted. When I arrived Yafa told me she was backed up and I had to wait, and I was still just happy to be getting my cut. I waited a while, but didn't mind because she told me up front and I could see she was hustling and doing a great job with the other clients in her chair. She finally gets to me and was pleasant considering she was soo busy. I showed her 2 photos of what I wanted and she got to cutting. SHE NAILED IT and yet it was one of the fastest cuts I ever got. She communicated the whole way thru and suggested some extra layers which I gladly accepted. I love my cut, and so does everyone else. I'm still getting compliments a week later. So long story short. ... I would highly recommend this place. Yafa was accomodating, fast, and did an excellent job. And I forgot to mention the salon was cute and super clean. I'm a tad bit picky when it comes to who I let touch my hair...why? We've all been there...really bad cut, rude, bad color, not what you wanted. Well, this is the first salon that I've been to in a long time that I really really love! I went here on a whim over the summer and I have never regretted it. I've been seen by Devorah, Albina, and most recently Yaffa and they have always listened to me, given me great cuts, color, blow outs and mani's and always make me feel welcome and included. (They even offer you coffee, tea, cookies, and chocolate...hellooooo!) And above all...my hair is healthier and shinier when I get out than before I got there...meaning they use quality products girls! Lots of salons use cheap sub-par products or cut corners for extra profit. Not this place, ladies. And my blow outs LAST. Not a few hours, not a day...but until the next time I wash it. And let me tell you, i have that hair that doesnt hold a curl or a style. I dont know how they do it. But they've got it. Decor is beautiful, spacious and its so cleeeeannn. No hair lying around on the floor, on their brushes or someone elses hair on your gown when they cover you up! I always leave feeling my best, and that's priceless to me! Def my only go to. I never thought my hair could be fixed. It had been through many colors. The latest it was before I came to the salon was an ombré gone wrong from another salon, because I wanted to tone down my bleached out look. I hated my hair and I didn't know where to go but I saw great reviews for this salon and decided to give it a shot after a good consultation. I wanted my natural base color with a lot of blonde ombré. I thought it just not could be done on my hair because it had been colored and highlighted so much. But Yaffa exceeded my expectations and made my uneven, processed hair into something almost identical to the photos I brought. It looks beautiful and still feels healthy. I did not lose a lot of hair after the color was washed out. I did not have to wait long before I was seated and taken care of. They offer coffee and water and have plenty of magazines. Yaffa is open to answering all questions and explaining the process. (I've had stylists at other salons who don't like to explain things and as a consumer I think I deserve to know what I am paying for-I find it unprofessional when they refuse to.) My hair looks beautiful, just like I wanted but never thought I could have. The prices here were also quite reasonable. It's not super cuts but it's quite fair and I am very happy. Also, they actually listen to what you want your hair to be and don't just ignore your wishes. Some stylists refuse to listen to what I want but Yaffa did my hair exactly how I wanted. I recommend this place to anyone. I am so happy with my color and the blowout looks great too. Never been so happy walking out of a salon in my life. I've been here before and had good experiences. Today, however, I was butchered. I came with pics and am not so naive that I believe that it's going to be the exact same look because my hair, texture, thickness, will likely be different than the people in the photos, but the idea was there. Short hair, longer on the top and sides, clean in the back. I got shaved sides and back and longish on the top, uneven side burns, and the top back is uneven and so much thicker than the rest of the back that it looks like a bowl cut from the back. All I kept hearing was, "I'm just blending it." Not blended. It looks terrible and I'm so disappointed. This was a new person to me and I'm not likely to return to her. Little update: Yaffa called me and apologized and asked me to come in for it to be fixed. Very thoughtful and of course I will. Another update: And I returned, and have returned several times since. Yaffa fixed my hair the first time 5 months ago and I've gone back several times and only see her. She is wonderful. She gets what I'm looking for. Produces results quickly and is great when I ask for a little shorter here or there. I'm so very pleased with the style and work she does. I've read some of the other reviews that haven't been so positive and I can't disagree more. I find her respectful to customers and her staff, I think she makes efforts to trust them and their skills (and as an employer myself we all make mistakes in hiring that we don't know about until after the hiring is done), and she listens. I find her to be reasonably priced and I never feel like I'm being sold anything. She uses great products and I've asked her about them, not the other way around. I also like that they keep records on purchases and time from one cut to another because I now book my next appointment when I'm done with this appointment. It's great.
