This beach is SO popular there's always a line to get in to park. The parking lot is very small. You can park along the main road but be mindful of where - there are no parking signs all around. We finally made it this weekend. We went early and found a spot - but probably only because it was COLD! Didn't matter. We walked the beach anyway on that cold windy day. It's pretty beach with different shells than you can find down the way at Englewood Beach, Blind Pass Beach or Manasota Key Beach. In our 10 min walk I scooped up a bunch of shells and TONS of sharks teeth. Hoping to make it back on a warm sunny day :) read more

Stump Pass Beach is a hidden Florida gulf coast gem! From the beautiful blue water, light to mild waves, and abundant sand with seashells, it's the perfect spot to start and end your day. As it's an FL state Park, you will need to pay for parking and follow all state park rules. Park rangers patrol the park/beach. The number of people varies based on the time of the season. It can be filled with young families, to the snowbirds... to at times possibly just you sitting in the sands and waves. This park is one of the most calm and peaceful beaches I've ever been to! The sights were absolutely breathtaking, although we didn't see any stumps - we may not have walked far enough, but we did walk nearly half a mile. There were thousands of sharks teeth to pick up if you looked closely enough! Be sure to look in the shell beds for them! The abandoned boat was a great photo opportunity and the fact it was so empty there made it even better! The water was very shallow in most places, which made me feel safer going out father into the water than usual. I highly recommend if you are nearby to spend an afternoon here! read more

Remote, very beautiful. It's an inexpensive way to experience one of our FL parks. Make sure to arrive early for parking. There was a line 20 minutes before they even opened to get in. My son was able to spot a shark while we were walking in one of the park's inlet areas. read more

So happy we were able to find a parking spot as parking spots are slim. Very clean pristine beach with plenty of shells and soft sand. There are bathrooms and you can rent kayaks so this is very nice . You pay three dollars to park all day and its on the honor system. Come visit but get here early for easy parking. Beautiful, remote beach near Englewood that offers great shore fishing, sun lounging, and swimming. The parking lot is tiny so either get there early or expect to wait. This is the scary part and why this review only warrants three stars. You could find yourself waiting for 10-20 minutes for a parking spot or hours, yes that is hours with a "s". If you are in line waiting, it all depends on when the people before you choose to leave their spot. With other local beaches close by (Englewood, Manasota) that offer the same experience (sand, surf, ocean) with a much higher parking capacity, I would not recommend this park if you have to wait significant amounts of time. Parking is only $3 a day so super cheap. Since parking is such a nightmare, this beach tends to be less full than other local beaches that we have experienced. There is plenty of space to sprawl out and sun bathe, search for shells, and swim. If you like to explore there are some neat boardwalks that take you through the beach mangroves and along Lemon Bay. You can access the beach on the gulf side or the quieter shores of Lemon Bay for swimming. If you are lucky, you might even see a manatee or dolphin swimming in the bay area. A local kayak rental shop is onsite if you would like to cruise Lemon Bay. We rented kayaks for an additional fee one day and got very close to some dolphins which was pretty cool. If you want to see dolphins, this is almost a guarantee as they feed in the area on a regular basis. Clean, basic restrooms are onsite as well. We enjoyed our time but we were also lucky to snag parking with little wait times. Nice, quiet beach if you are willing to fight the hassle and risks of a very tiny parking lot. read more

I didn't get to spend much time here because it was getting late. I did however get to see the sunset here. It was as beautiful as ever. There's lots of foliage on the side of this beach. Apparently, this side of the beach is where you can find shark teeth. I wish I Knew that at the time. I would have been searching for them as others were. There is a public parking lot here and bathrooms. There are also meters here as well. This side has a clear sign that says no pets allowed. They are allowed in the park, just not in the beach. There is an intercoastal side where you will see where the waverunners zoom around. It's closer to where the bathrooms are. It's pretty, full of nature, and quite rustic. read more

Plenty of beach access here (no dogs) as the point sticks out 1.3 miles from the parking (which is limited). The highlight is the trail that weaves through natural vegetation and ends at the point. Boaters also enjoy pulling their boats and anchoring off the beach on the intercoastal side of the point. But on the Gulf side, you can enjoy the pelicans diving, the sandpipers scurrying along with the surf rolling in, and the famous pure white sand. On the trail, we encountered a gopher tortoise and of course lots of tiny scurrying lizards. There is also a kayak rental. #realflorida read more

We've been lucky enough to stay right near this little slice of beach heaven multiple times. The beach is large and there is a lot of it to walk (miles!). Only two sets of bathrooms; one at the main beach and then one at the entrance of the park. They are not close to one another. Parking is SLIM after about 11am since it fills up quickly, probably the only downsize to that area. The beach itself is walking distance to multiple beach shops, bars, restaurants and a corner store. The sand is soft and clean and the water is almost see thru. It feels a little like Bermuda! Great spot to watch the sunset! We've seen so many dolphins and bald eagle in that area. The pass is gorgeous from the beach or parked on a boat for the day. It gets a little busy on weekends but don't let it deter you if you have never been. If you want to walk the whole park I would suggest shoes since there are some spots full of shells. If you can walk it it's absolutely worth it! read more

This places deserves 5 stars for beauty and peacefulness but I can't give it because there is literally parking for 30-40 cars with no time limit. Every tag today comes from the area, which is fine, but unlimited time means few can experience its beauty. Spouse and I sat in the car for a half hour or more. I will day the ranger is AWESOME. He didn't put up with squat from folks trying to skip line. read more

Gorgeous beach full of seashells... Turquoise water that is perfect for swimming as you can go pretty far out and still not be too deep.... BUT unfortunately the beach is washing away. There isn't much room to do a lot of lounging because the sand is literally being eroded away. The last time we were here, there a beautiful blue heron that came over and hung out with us. We were fishing and and he was hoping for a bite, so of course we shared:) see pictures. You really need to be here by 8AM if you want a parking spot because the lot fills up quickly and you will wait in line for a spot if you don't come early. Take a few dollars as you have to pay to use this beach as it is a state park. read more

Extremely beautiful state park! Well kept and very clean. The state park allows your pet, but not on the beach. The state park is like its own little island once you get on it. The walkway is extremely nice and interesting. It gives you the option to be on one side which is the inter-coastal or the other which is the beach. This state park is the perfect place to watch the sunset. And you can see dolphins here quite often too, who doesn't like to see dolphins!!! Their parking lot is very small, and they do charge a $3 entrance fee, it's hard to get parking here sometimes, but the next beach is just right down the road and has a huge lot (.75 cents an hour parking). We just parked there and walked up. Very nice walk between the two. read more

It's a great little state park! Like others have said, the parking lot is teeny tiny So get there early if you want a spot. We had a great time looking for shark teeth and playing in the ocean. We found a little cut through that brought you right to the other side of the island which was MUCH calmer than the ocean side. read more

Unfortunately we didn't get to see or explore this beach. Drove all the way from fort Myers and the parking lot was so full ( super small anyways) that we couldn't find a spot to park even on a Thursday in the beginning of May at 1230. I didn't see anyone collecting "state Park fees either" so I'm left to assume anyone can go there cause the beach right down the street charges for parking. We might try it another time but I don't know if it would even be worth the l g drive just to lose out to a small parking lot. read more

One of the best beaches in Florida, warm water, small waves makes it great for kids! And hiking trails to the inlet for exploration, plus fresh water showers so you dont drive home salty and sandy! Beautiful beach and walking area. The parking lot is a bit small and limited but the off season renders easy parking. From the parking lot, there is about a 50 to 100 yrd walk to the beach. The beach seems endless and supplies plenty of room for visitors. Walking on this beach will be pleasing for those who like to beach comb for shells. In addition to shells a friend of mine advised that we could find sharks teeth. Indeed we did, they are hard to find but within two hours we had located about a dozen small teeth. If you are looking for sharks teeth, they are brown and black, not white. After our time on the beach and hunting for sharks teeth, we headed back and used the free rinse off areas and restrooms. read more

Beautiful beach at the far end of Manasota Key. Calm water and tons of shells. The bathrooms are well kept. You can launch your kayak also.

I love taking my paddle board from here and quickly getting across ski alley to rag alley which is calm and free from fast boat traffic. There is a bathroom and access to the beach as well. The downside is the parking. In "season" it is like war for a spot and adds a good amount of tension to your day. Even if you find a spot and go play in the water, when you get back to your car you had better move fast cause there are other people impatiently wanting your spot. read more

This is where we found the most sea shells, and shark teeth, with the least amount of people around! The water was so pretty, you could see to the bottom as far as you walked out. This was my favorite, compared to englewood beach a few miles down. The park closes at sunset (8:15pm) but you can get an additional pass and stay as long as you like! read more

An amazing treasure !!! Went on a cloudy day in winter and had no problem parking but the next day was sunny and there was no parking.The beautiful stumps are at the end of the parks point,very enjoyable walk maybe 30 minutes, and took the beach route coming back, a little faster. Very pretty location- hike to get to the stumps is 1.3 miles one way so be prepared to walk through sandy trails in the woods or along the beach. Also, sun sets at 8 right now and park closes at 8- we actually went to watch sunset and got locked in the park at 7:55 pm. I would have like to be given time after sunset to walk the mile back to the parking lot - it would be better to watch the sun set elsewhere and just hang out here during the daylight hours. read more
