Ms. Gloria is an incredible director, and always ready to listen and help with any concerns. My son had previously attended Country Home (Medical Center) and La Petite (Alamo Heights), but since attending MSCDC, he has really grown by leaps and bounds! In the two-year-old class, his teacher, Ms. Cindy, was nothing short of phenomenal! She genuinely cares deeply for the development and all-around well being of her students- plus, my son picked up potty training pretty quickly in this class, and I give the teachers due credit for that! Since moving into the 3+ class, my child has continued to blow me away with his knowledge, kindness, manners, cooperativeness, and abilities. At least two or three times a week he will tell me a fact or piece of knowledge that shocks me and when I ask where he learned that, he usually replies "I learned it at school". His teachers, Ms. Hilda and Ms. Samantha spend so much time on educating and challenging the children, even at their young age, to think through problems and scenarios. He is gaining critical thinking skills and it's so amazing to watch his mind form. This isn't just a daycare. MSCDC really builds a strong foundation for education and community/social interaction. And my son is happy- most importantly. He loves all of "his teachers," which, to him, includes the entire staff of MSCDC. As a non-religious person, I admit, I was somewhat hesitant to enroll my son in a daycare housed within a church, but over the years, I have found that Madison Square Presbyterian Church is actually a really wonderful, open-minded and open-hearted environment. While some activities are faith-based (VBS for a week in the summer, the birth of Jesus story at Christmas time, etc.), most of his time at daycare is not focused on religion. I appreciate this very much. He is made aware of the fundamentals and figures of Christianity, but it is not forced upon him or emphasized heavily. This has the benefit of teaching him excellent universal values without delving too deeply into the religious specifics. The school is secure, and I feel safe leaving my most precious cargo with them each day. There are two code-locked doors, (the outside door is usually unlocked during drop-off and pick-up hours, but the inner door to the classrooms is always locked), and your child must be checked in and out each day by guardians' fingerprint. MSCDC is a very kind, loving, friendly and enriching environment, and I am SO HAPPY to watch my son grow & learn at this facility. I recommend this facility to everyone I know, and now I'm recommending it to the Yelp community of those I don't know! We love MSCDC!
