My kid loves it, and always talks about how much fun she had with Terri and Katie and Lourdes each time she comes home from school. All the teachers and staff there are amazing and keep you up to informed. Katie is one of my favorites, and keep us "in the know" with out us even asking. Wendy and Jo do an amazing job behind the scenes. I love that I get weekly emails about everything that's going on at the school and her class. If you are looking for a great school to call home ACORN is the place! They do have a wait list and going on a tour is a must. I recommend going online and check dates for the open house or call.

Bottom line, this school is different, and you are impacted by that as soon as you pull into the driveway. From the playground to the entrance, children are encouraged to play with their hands and truly experience learning. They had a change of a director recently who let me just say is an absolute gem of a human being. She genuinely loves the children and the well-being of the children in school. My older daughter's teacher was fantastic from the get-go and within a few weeks , my speech delayed and extremely shy daughter started talking and thriving! She now won't be quite whereas for the first several weeks, she would not utter a single word. My younger daughter was in the pre primary class and it was an incredible blessing to have a change of staff. The old staff would leave my baby girl at the front door to cry for hours on end and right when I wanted to pull her out, I was informed that her after care teacher would be taking over. Let me just say, that this was the best thing that happened to us. My baby girl who absolutely despised going to school, suddenly began asking me to take her to school so she can see her "teacher". Ms. Vanessa genuinely bonded with their kids and created an experience of true joy for the kids and I am forever grateful for this transformation my daughter underwent! The after care staff has also been amazing as well! Ms. Grace, Ms. Alexis are champs for being so patient with the kiddos and engaging in creative activities. My kids are thriving and it's all because of the environment the new director, Ms. Erika created. Her number one concern is the well being of the kiddos and she is incredibly hands on! She has an incredible relationship with them and is actually one of the people my kids can't stop talking about! I will say, I have had to bring certain things to admin's attention like needing more frequent diaper changes to prevent diaper rash and although I wasn't pleased I had to say this I was extremely happy to see that my complaint and solutions were accepted with smiles and the situation was resolved quickly and I haven't had issues since. I can say Admin and teachers truly want your baby to be happy here and are willing to not only listen to your concerns and feedback but take action to correct things on their end. And yes, I'm a helicopter mom and it's very obvious and they don't judge (at least not to my face lol)

Anyways just wanted to point out the gossip culture in this school all employees just acting like high school students. Then when they sent me to camp bullis, they all paraded around the ONLY man in the school. Another little high school party. In the end thank god I didn't get the position I honestly didn't even want it. I'm just annoyed of the time they made me waist and since yelp is open for opinions I decided to leave mine. On top of the SAD hourly pay $13 an hour haha I would never want to be apart of this grown adult high school culture. The place itself was very cute and it seemed very fun for children. They had a pretty cool facility with a nice playground area and the classrooms looked fun and clean. The programs they had seemed really good and it was surprising to me that they even had daycare for infants. The pricing also seemed fair which they had several options. The only thing that was displeasing was some of the staffs appearances was off. I understand not everyone can dress the part but there was staff that looked like they just rolled out of bed, one guy in a classroom who was the obvious teacher/staff was sitting there rolling and twiddling his hair with the children just looking for his attention. I also noticed a lady who instructed the dance portion of the day had grabbed a little girl by her arm and displayed somewhat of aggression and frustration. Look I get it it's hard watching kids and many at that but it just didn't sit right with me. The staff at the Lilypad have become my village at this point. The way they love and care for my boy is incredible. His language, social and emotional skills are ahead for his age and while some of that may just be his nature, I am positive that The Lilypad has a huge part in nurturing that as well. My child is always excited for school in the morning, and he has definitely bonded with more than one of his teachers during his time there.
