TLDR: overall average/good piercing experience with a few hiccups, such as the extreme price and customer service issues. i had my ears pierced by a woman with blue hair, don't remember her name [edit: her name was Tina]. she told me she had 15 years of experience with piercings and i could see that she had a lot, so i felt safe in her hands. The procedure was quick and easy. I only experienced a little bit of pain, but she did her best to make me not feel anything. The only negative things I have to say about the place were the front staff members (we heard them talking bad about us after we went to the back, which is just purely unprofessional and embarrassing for them). The other con to this is the steep price. it was $114 for my piercings AND I GOT THE CHEAPEST OPTIONS. they claim $35 on their website but of course it's not what it seems, as it is $50 if you do two piercings and jewelry starts at $30 each for the tiniest studs ever. if you want something not basic, you'd have to go into the $80 or $120 section, which quickly adds up, especially just for the first piercing jewelry that will not be worn again after the piercing heals! and this subtotal is not even including the after care spray, which they try to sell to you, even though you can get it for half the price at CVS or Walmart. plus, the only jewelry they have is titanium. they claim to have gold but when i asked she said it was only gold-plated and it was titanium underneath...and we all know how that works. no silver options whatsoever. overall, i had a pretty good experience minus some bad customer service and a ridiculously high price tag, but i don't know if i'd go back to get more piercings here. but i cannot complain about the actually piercing service, it was quick and moderately painless so BIG THANK YOU to the kind woman who pierced me; even though she kind of had ab attitude, you could still tell she was very good at her job. date of service: 3/24/2023 staff member: tina read more

Overall great experience, my only complaint would be crowding simply cause at the time of my piercing it was Covid peak and the space is small so there is really only so much they could do. My piercer did a fabulous job with placement and walk me through the process. It's been about 5/6 months and I have another appointment scheduled already because overall I did enjoy the experience they also have SUCH a good collection of jewelry. Super cute read more

I had such a great experience here. Let me just say it has been about 27 years since my last piercing. I was blessed with Jacqueline as my expert. She was so knowledgeable and had great patience with me. Her customer service was top notch. I got 3 piercings in the anti helix and she made them perfect. I appreciate her time measuring them multiple times to make sure they were even. I had the expected tenderness post piercing but it has been 2 weeks and I'm doing great. I'm not feeling pain! I have heard so many horror stories about that area but Jacqueline made all the difference! I will definitely be back! read more

I initially came in just to replace an earring and ended up leaving with 2 more lobe piercings. Jax was so funny, sweet, and kind and made the whole experience so fun and comfortable. I will be back soon to get some more piercings! read more

My friend and I went here last week for new piercings and had a great experience. Jo did both of ours, she was professional, friendly, and honestly made the process one of the least painful piercings I've gotten. Just as a heads up, there is only one person permitted in the piercing room. I thought we would be able to provide each other some emotional support but that was not the case. So if you are nervous, just be aware, you won't have a familiar hand to hold. But if you ask for Jo, I know her calming presence will get you through it! I also asked for some help with earscaping and she knew the products and was able to offer some insight and guidance on what would look good together. All around a great experience and I will be back for more earscaping! read more

This location just opened and I'm honestly so happy with my experience! Jacqueline was my piercer and she is great at earscaping which is so important to building your perfect ear stack. This was my first time going to STUDS and I was very impressed! The staff at the front was really welcoming and walked me through the process. I will admit, the jewelry can get pricey considering it will likely be replaced with a different piece so I opted for the CZ Titanium piercings in Aurora. Jax was my piercer and she was AWESOME! She was very thorough and shared all the do's and don'ts with a super upbeat attitude. Overall, SUPER HAPPY with the results so far, and the piercings are SO linear! We were both really excited at how good it looked. Definitely will come back to get the other lobe done! read more

I have always had sensitive ears/skin and I've had a problem with piercings getting rejected because traditional piercers always tend to use surgical steel. Studs uses high grade titanium for their piercings and it is such a relief. I got my daith pierced a few days ago and Tina was quick and relatively painless. It was all very sanitary and clean and she was just an all around great person. I would 100000% get pierced by her again. read more

I came into Studs wanting a third lobe piercing on my left ear and also ended up with a "new first" which I didn't even know was a thing! I actually met my piercer, Jax, before this visit when she checked on my right-side tragus and helped me pick a new earring for it. She took great care of me this time around as well, from helping me pick jewelry based on the earrings I was already wearing and encouraging me through the piercing process. Jax was intentional with her suggestions and was very patient with me. She is a true artist and if I ever decide to get another piercing, I'd want it to be done by her! read more

Jo was my piercer for my helix! It was my first time at Studs and getting a piercing that wasn't my first 2 piercing that I got when I was a child! She was so kind, welcoming and patient! The process was a minimum pain of 3/10, it felt like getting a flu shot. Overall, experience was a 9/10! read more

My daughter, Maia, and I went to STUDS for her 17th birthday to get a couple piercings and was scheduled with Jax. JAX WAS GREAT. I had no idea what to expect at a place like this and Jax exceeded my expectations. She was patient, kind, super informative and smart and Jax absolutely loves what she does. What Jax does is art! With my birthday this month, I too will now be coming back to get a couple new pieces with Jax!! #jaxsrocks read more

I'd been wanting some upper ear piercings and came across Studs in my google search. Yes it's a boutique so yes their jewelry is a bit pricier than some you may find at other places but overall their pricing is very fair, and the staff very helpful. I stopped by without an appointment I was able to get in and back out within an hour, it would have been quicker if I'd made an appt. I can not wait to go back for more the whole process was so easy. read more

My piercer & the lady at the front desk were so knowledgeable & kind! This was my second time coming in for piercings & each time has gone truly well for me! They were both very patient with me & my piercing decisions & made me feel comfortable in what I decided to go with! I feel like Studs will continue to be my piercing shop! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I was charged incorrectly, I didn't receive my promo discount which I didn't notice until I left the shop, so I had to reach out to corporate which took 24 hours because they don't have a direct line at the shop. However, it was rectified and I did receive the promo refund. read more

I took my daughter to get her piercing at the Rice STUDS location. Our appointment had to be rescheduled by the store. We had plenty of notice and successfully rescheduled the appointment. From check-in to piercing to check out, everything went smoothly and professionally. The technician was very careful in placing the mark on the ears and explained everything she was doing. My daughter is very pleased with the piercing! read more

So so so welcoming and friendly. I came in to get my third lobe piercing and ended up changing my jewelry. They make sure to talk you through the entire process before agreeing to move forward. 10/10 highly recommended I've been anticipating getting another piercing but really wanted to have someone help me with what would look best on me. I believe I was with jacquline this time and she was very patient with me being indecisive on placement. My appointment was for two piercings but I ended up getting one and she helped me realize it was time to change my tragus from years ago so I ended up buying a new ring for that one. Anyways, I'm excited to already go in for another one. I'm sad you can only get two at a time or you have to wait 8 weeks after any 2nd one you get but I understand the reasons. See y'all next time! Thanks again read more

I visited STUDS to pick out some new earrings and ended up getting a "stacked lobe" piercing too. Jax was my piercer and she was AMAZING. Her positive, upbeat nature was refreshing and she was very patient and answered all my questions. Her placement was on point . Looking forward to coming back for my next piercing. My only suggestion is make an appointment a head of time. I didn't and was still able to get in pretty quickly but others came after me had to come back another day because it was close to closing and appointments were full. read more

Visited this location 2 weeks ago and was very satisfied with the service from the front desk staff to my awesome piercer Jax. The store has a great (and very varied) selection of earings for all budgets. When it was time to get pierced Jax explained everything she was doing in detail and the procedure was fast and barely hurt. She made sure I liked the piercing position and that it matched my ear shape and other piercings. I will be definetly be going back for more piercings! Ps. My piercings are healing great! I do suggest getting the travel size saline spray for after-care. Also allow yourself plenty of time to find parking, parking lots gets busy in Rice Village! But the location is super easy to find and parking is close by. read more

My original appointment was cancelled 3 hours before it was suppose to be due to maintenance issues. Thankfully I was able to reschedule it for a couple days later (as I was visiting from out of town). I was given $35 off for the inconvenience which was nice - especially given the prices of the earrings. (There are some that aren't that bad in price but the ones you get pierced with are on the pricey side. (I was under the impression you could choose any earring to get pierced with but they let you choose from a small selection) I got pierced by Tina who was lovely. They made us wear masks while getting pierced which was unexpected. I didn't love the first impression vibe of this place as we walked in as there were 3-4 girls just standing at the front that didn't give the most welcoming vibe but all the reviews I've seen were really good so I let it slide (although had I not had an appointment I might've changed my mind and left). I got a flat helix and a tragus piercing - the flat helix wasn't bad at all but holy cow did that tragus hurt read more

I wanted to get a piercing, but wasn't sure what to get so I stopped by STUDS. I was greeted by a friendly staff who immediately acknowledged me! I was trying to secure a walk in appointment, but they are so dope that they didn't have availability until later in the day. I planned to go back at a later date and then headed over to Le Labo to check out their City Exclusives line. While there I ran into a vibrant soul who's energy was amazing! We started to chat and I noticed her perfectly "earscaped" ear and I asked if she knew of a place that I could get pierced. She responded with a big smile while telling me she is a piercer and works at STUDS! What laughed and chatted a bit more and she helped me book an appointment for the next day while also suggesting types of piercings that would look good on me! It was fate!! I showed up today and asked for "Jax". She was just as friendly as she was the day before. She helped me choose jewelry and walked me through every step of the process. She took her time and I was in and out in a flash! "Jax" is very gentle and her energy will make anyone smile. If you need an ear piercing go check her out over at STUDS! Today was my 2nd time at this location and both times i was pierced by artist Jacqueline Riley. I have never felt more confident in a decision. I had previously had lobe surgery and i was going in to get my ear re-pierced. She explained to me the risk of re-piercing my ear because of a mistake my surgeon had made. She made feel so comfortable and gave me alternate options so that i could feel at my very best. I cant rave enough about her. She is simply the best. I highly recommend her. Very nice spot. The staff was polite, helpful and attentive. Jo did a great job! Quick and painless!!

I had such a pleasant experience here. My tragus earring loosened yesterday and I couldn't put it back on. I have a snowboarding trip tomorrow and was desperately looking for a replacement earring that I could wear comfortably and not have to worry about it loosening anymore. Amazon didn't have any 14k hoops that were 18g that would arrive by tomorrow, so I went to google to see what store would carry what I needed. Studs came up, and after checking their website, they had exactly what I was looking for. Located right next to shake shack, the store itself is fairly small. There is plenty of staff to help you find what you are looking for. My earring was $100 even and it was $15 to change it out to the new one. Jo assisted me in doing so. She was very gentle and told me to let her know if she was causing any pain. My piercing is still less than a year old so feeling pressure was to be expected. She did a flawless job. Highly recommend. I may consider coming here to get future piercings. Their earring selection is also suuuper cute. They even give you an aftercare bag! Ms. Jacqueline "Jax" and the crew at STUDS definitely make you feel right at home! I was unsure which piercing I wanted, and looking for something to balance my current look. She recommended the snug (when I was initially thinking a flat), and they way she lined it up with my conch is chef's kiss!
