I contacted Alan Sanderson at Pacificbeatstudios.com I set an appointment to tour the facilities and explain my vision for the 7 song EP. The place is very comfortable, with wood and and an earthy vibe, which all artists know is almost more important than the gear. Alan's many years in the business allow him to immediately grasp your vision and help you take it to the next level. This is a first class facility, with bathroom, snack area and temperature controlled. He had all the gear setup when we arrived to record. We did 7 songs in 4 hours and it took another 6 hours of editing, mixing mastering to get what I know to be the best recording possible. I highly recommend you bypass other studios and go to a pro that will ensure the finest finished product possible. I wanted to surprise my son with time at a recording studio for his Bday/Graduation present. He had…read morebeen creating music in his bedroom for over a year.. and needed the change of scenery and inspiration! Nicolas made booking the studio smooth and painless. He answered all my questions and was always available for the ones I forgot to ask. Nicolas was patient with me as I wasn't sure what my son would need. He found an engineer that would match with my son's style of music. Prior to his studio time, my son was contacted by the engineer, his genre of music making was discussed and then time was confirmed. :) Thank you to the Engineer Idriss "DD" that worked with my son. He learned a lot and had a great time. Thank you for being so patient and making the first time in the studio a great experience! He was excited and proud of his studio recordings! From inquiring, to booking, to creating, then paying... it was done all professionally . The facility is clean and has nice equipment too! Thank you Signature Sound. This will be the first of many more sessions for my son!

These guys' website gives priced packages too, not 'call for a quote', which is nice to see. The only complaint I have is that it's impossible to get the band to leave...I'm pretty sure most of them would live there if they could! Another awesome factor is the extensive amount of equipment the studio has and how amazing the owners are at letting you use their gear to get the best sound. The vintage fender rhodes is definitely my favorite. We've enjoyed having practices there and will definitely be recording our album there as well! Best studio in San Diego by far!

First off let me say, to be in an urban area, the quality of the Batkave Studio blew my mind! I…read morewasn't expecting to walk into such a good environment, but surprisingly my experience was FLAWLESS!!! Not only does the BATKAVE have top-notch equipment, but JAZ made feel welcome & very at home!!! The song that I recorded there with JAZ came out better than I could ever hope for! Being able to hold a note or two helped, but without the EXPERTISE of JAZ with his VOCAL ARRANGEMENT, my song would have just been mediocre. The sound quality is GREAT, my mix came out GREAT, he even equilized my beat for better overall sound! Jaz is truly one of (if not) SAN DIEGO'S WEST KEPT SECRET!!! Jaz took me step by step through each vocal, giving me & at times correcting my notes, but letting me do what it is I wanted to do with my song, more coaching than changing. I eneded up with the song I brought to to him, coming out 10 times better than what I recorded on my own. He made me actually sound good! My project has to be recorded with JAZ, I just don't trust anyone else with it!!! JAZ is truly a phenomenal PRODUCER, ENGINEER,VOCAL ARRANGER & all around BUSINESS MAN!!! I appreciate the fact mostly that he's an honest guy, if it didn't sound good he said so (in a not hurtful way) & corrected it! Alot of engineers just click buttons & recieve thier payment! Jaz actually cares about the product he works on (whether he produced himself or not), & that's saying alot!!! I dare you to just try working with him once, it'll change the way you look at your music... I DARE YOU!!! Steve-O.G.
