I started straightening my hair since I was 13 years old in the Philippines. Back then, salons have used this very strong chemical that consistently caused my scalp to scab. Rita really took the time to understand me and how I handle my hair (or don't!) and how my hair likes to behave. She took her time and the result was that my hair is behaving really well! She was very thorough in how she cut it and was careful not to go too short. She cut it dry (but straightened), which was different for me, but I think it worked out well. I didn't get it washed and styled, but did use a round brush on the ends when I got home. It looks even better than this pic when it is freshly styled. I did NOT get my color done that day. All the salons were booked for a blow out at "after work", specially for curly mid length Hispanic hair (and lost of it!). They took me in and two of them did my hair at the same time! I was out in half hour and it was PERFECT! I asked for extra clean hair since it was at least 5 days dirty and she really got in there. Told her she's stuck with me now. Will very definitely be back at least weekly!

I went back to get a balayage with Lauren and unfortunately that didn't turn out the way I hoped. I have dark hair and I wanted golden blond with the balayage. I showed a picture of what I wanted. Turns out the process wasn't left on long enough and I ended up with orange hair! I was so so upset. Went back and Lauren re-glazed my hair for free and it made it a bit better but was still orange. Went back again but to a different colorist and she said the same thing about not leaving the chemicals on long enough. She fixed my hair and it came out great! Went back to same stylist for a balayage touch up and again I was super happy with the results.

I've come here about a dozen or more times and my stellar stylist/colorist Maria always does such an amazing job! The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere and décor is warm, inviting and comfortable. On a chilly day head over to the Keurig and make yourself something to sip on while you cozy up to the fireplace in-between treatments. To be honest my hair is important and in many ways defines my style, so it's comforting to know that the Christopher Moore Salon uses only the very best in hair care products and equipment...that's what initially sealed the deal for me. It's just bad practice from a business standpoint. So, if the man behind the counter is the owner, I'm severely unimpressed with his business acumen. If he's an employee, he needs to be trained on what views to keep to himself in a place of business because some people may be disgusted by your views. Your political position is irrelevant. It's simply unprofessional to discuss while at work. On the flipside, if this is the type of business where employees are encouraged to share their political views with customers or with fellow employees out in the open, it's not a place that I would like to continue to patronize.
