I came in for a manicure pedicure. For the manicure, I wanted builder gel with design on a couple of my nails and pedicure. Just a regular gel pedicure Pedicure: if I come back again, it's only exclusively to get a pedicure done and that to a basic gel pedicure. And that's because of the 20% of discount that I can get. Other than that, even the pedicure was suboptimal. The massage was just a lady rubbing her finger around in circles around my foot and a little bit of my ankle. No pressure whatsoever and didn't even massage my calf. On top of that, everyone around me was getting a neck massage after or some sort of back massage. I didn't get anything like that. The pedicure cost for what I get is still pretty expensive including the 20% off discount where I might as well go somewhere else get everything I get for the same exact cost. Manicure: I'm actually embarrassed right now to show my nails off for the next month. I do nails at home so I have somewhat of an idea as to how the quality of the builder gel should look as well as certain nail paint and nail design. I got a cat eye done, and I can see the brush strokes of the nail paint on my nails of the cat eye. I can also see the difference of the layers that she did on my nails. I can see the basic nail paint then I can see on the side of my nail where she didn't cover my entire nail with the cat eye color. On top of that my nails are not rounded evenly. They are all not equal in length. The nail paint isn't even applied evenly. It's applied at an angle so you can tell where it's close to touching my cuticle to where there's a solid gap between my cuticle area and the nail polish. The design isn't even remotely close to what I showed her. When I made the appointment, I asked them to book me with someone who can do nail art because I've had bad experience with nail art not looking remotely close to what I show. They promised they would book me with someone who's experienced. I hate to say this, but I could have done a better nail art job by myself. The cherry on top for me was when I had to apply my own cuticle oil on my own nails. At the end of the day if I ever come back here, it's to get a basic pedicure done with the 20% off discount. They are not good at doing cat eye. I'm not saying this based off of my experience. I'm also saying it based off a couple of friends who got cat eye here and were disappointed. The level of work I got done with the 20% off discount is how much I pay at a regular nail salon so I might as well just go to regular nail salon especially if they up-charge here to then give me a " 20% off ".

The Secret is out!!!!…read more Location: Near the heartbeat of the Texas Medical Center this place is hard to miss. On Holcombe in the same shopping center as CVS, if you are there, you are in the right place. Parking: Since this Shopping Center is so popular you may have a hard time finding a front spot, but because the parking lot is large, you will definitely get one. Just wait patiently for one or park a bit farther an get some steps in. Ambiance: This place embodies a garden them from start with silk rose bouquets, cherry blossoms and the like, this place is decorated for you to get lost in eden! This place must have like 100 nail bays, it seems huge. Service: Im almost always a walkin so I come in, give my name and number and wait to be seated. Today was my lucky day! I didnt have to wait long at all, which was amazing. I picked my color and we were ready to roll. I got the Paradise Pedicure which includes paraffin. Just coming from a 10K last weekend, it was much needed. Will I go back?: Absolutely! This is the only nail salon that does not make my legs itch with the products they use. Not sure what products they are using different than others, but I am quite cautious. I get a different person each time so I don't have anyone to recommend. I have been quite satisfied with the folks I have received.

1 Star -- Declining Quality, Misleading Charges, Damaged Natural Nails and Greedy Practices…read more I went to Naliq Nail Bar (South Braeswood) on 10/04/25 for a refill and pedicure and paid $200.60 total ($170 before tip). This was my second visit and it will be my last. The first time I came, I actually left a 5-star review because my nails looked great at first. But even then, I had concerns I chose to overlook. The acrylic felt cheap and low quality compared to what I normally wear. I typically use CND Warm Pink, but instead of a true nude acrylic, they used clear acrylic that turned purple with the monomer and then painted gel on top to make it appear nude. The pedicure polish was also applied poorly and had to be redone multiple times, and they even charged me for "length" when my nails were already short. This time, those red flags became full blown problems. I asked for the same pink nude base and pointy shape as before, but the tech completely changed both without asking. My nails are now rounded, the base color is milky and uneven, and the overlay is thick and heavy. The receipt lists special shape, cat eye, French, and chrome, but charging $15 each for both cat eye and French doesn't make sense when the cat eye polish was only applied to half the nail tips. I also requested a cut down, but no length was removed. The tech used a hand file instead of a drill, then filed under my natural nails, thinning them so badly that when I remove this set, they may not even be strong enough for another overlay. The 3D gold chrome design was also layered incorrectly, leaving doubled uneven lines instead of the clean raised look from my inspo photo. For $170 before tip, I expected professional technique and care. Instead, I left with weakened nails, the wrong color and shape, and an inflated bill. I've attached photos and my receipt so others can see what this salon considers "premium" service. I tried giving them grace after my first visit, but this confirmed what I suspected: cheap products, inconsistent techniques, and inflated pricing. Never again. Let's call it what it is, $110 for a refill felt like punishment for being 15 minutes late. If time was really an issue, I should have been offered a reschedule, not rushed work. I was charged $5 extra for a "special shape" after clearly asking for pointy nails and showing a photo, yet still ended up with rounded, grandma shaped nails. And I could have let that slide if the art had been immaculate, but it wasn't. The gold chrome 3D design looks nothing like my inspo photo. You can't blame lateness to justify poor quality and overcharging for a result that doesn't even match what was requested. Make it make sense. Then I paid $55 for my pedicure, and they still added a $5 gel removal charge even though I didn't have them paint my toes. Regular polish was included, but I declined it because of a small green spot on my toe. So why charge for removing gel when no polish was applied? We should have been even. That just shows how greedy this salon is, nickel and diming clients on top of inflated prices, then still expecting a tip.

The shop is pretty spacious, there were chandeliers, Christmas decorations, marble tile floor. All the stations are well kept and clean. I got seated right away, my nail tech began to remove the existing design I had on (also Gel X). Note: there is a removal fee for gel. After the removal process of finished, I showed her the design I wanted, she assured that she can do it. We began the nail prep process, which was very efficient - she is definitely a pro! Note: there is a fee for cuticle care. I really appreciate her helping me pick out the colors and offering her opinion on what the colors will look like on real nails. She then carefully picked out the Gel X extension for each nail and applied them. 2 of them are a little crooked but this is a known issue with my nail beds, usually a nail tech would need to pay really close attention to get it aligned perfectly. The design part took the longest (as expected). She did a great job, took my feedback and brought it to life. It didn't turn out exactly like the inspiration, but the result was beautiful. I have received so many compliments in my nails! It has been 5 1/2 weeks, they are still holding strong - none is lifted, only minor chips from me being rough on them. Overall, I had a lovely experience at Dorado. There are a couple fees here and there, like extra for gold flakes, cuticle cut, existing design removal, coffin shape that bring up the total. Keep that in mind if you're looking to do designs. I felt that the extra fee for coffin shape could be waived since the Gel X extension is already in coffin shape, but that's just my opinion. Tip: Once you sign up with your phone number, they occasionally send out special offers so keep an eye on those.

I asked for a luxe pedicure she gave me a rush job. At first she stated she couldn't do it, due to an incident that happened at her home. I was getting ready to leave. Then, she stated she could do it. I got a shellac pink on my hand and feet. Wendy basically stated that African American people do not pick a light color. They like brighter colors like blue, green, orange basically a bold color. I felt it was very stereotypical. All people get all colors. I came back the next day for the manicure. I had to ask her several times to get the skin off of nails. She did a horrible job. She kept saying she would get the dry skin after. I feel like if you don't want to do the job right. Do not take the customer. I will post a picture of the side of my nails after the manicure. Wendy, kept stating I will get it later. Wendy, also asked me for a tip after the manicure. If you do a good job. People will give you a tip. You don't have to ask. The pictures were taken right after the pedicure. The vibe was ok. I also have a tip for the pedicure yesterday. The tip is also that someone brought you business in to your place of work. A tip is earned.
