I only stayed briefly at the fair and after a cup of coffee and a cigarette I had a wander down the Islington High Street and the sidestreets.... I stumbled across Kemble Jewellers and entered because there was a poster displaying a prize draw for a watch. After being greeted with a friendly smile, I wrote my name and email address on a business-sized card and put it in the basket. I did not have to buy anything. Imagine my delight, when the following Friday after a hard week of work I had an email telling me I'd won! I went in to Kembles to collect and the watch exceeded expectations - it's exquisite! A GUESS Denim men's watch worth about 140 Pounds. The friendly member of staff took my photograph for the facebook page. I put about 1 Pound in the charity tin. What a happy day. The watch is beautiful and what a useful prize.

It's a fairly large store and frequently seems to have new ranges available. The clothes are very competitively priced and have a great selection from the latest fashion to the more traditional skirts and trouser suits. There is also a wide selection of footwear in this branch, along with a children's section, a menswear section and a lingerie and nightwear department. Towards the back of the store you can usually find some sale items at even cheaper prices. The only gripe I have is that we had to queue for several minutes at the checkout yesterday, and this has often been the case when I've shopped in here at the weekend. But it's worth it for the good value clothes on offer.

And the list goes on and on. They also carry top designer brands with their men's collection, so if you go with your boyfriend or any kind of male company they will have something to look at and maybe even purchase! It is a great store to visit but expect high prices, as everything has a designer tag and the money that goes along with that.

It was the only shop locally which could supply the bicycle I wanted from stock. They checked it over and gave my son some good advice about looking after it.They were obviously knowledgeable staff which always is a bonus . I paid a bit more than I needed to for the accessories (£10 for a lock I found elsewhere for £5.99 )but the bicycle was about the right price.They offer a free 'first service' within six weeks of buying the bike which we did not take up as my son had not ridden the bike much.Good service though.Boy did I feel old!

So less snacks and such that you get at the common station locations. Lots of magazines, a small selection of (mostly paperback) books, slightly overpriced stationery, & various bits abd bobs for office and home. It is neither amazing nor horrible. They don't always have the same magazines in, which is annoying when I stop in to look for things published quarterly and they only get it 2 of the 4 quarters. But the sales staff are nice enough and WH Smith quite often have a free something deal if you're on O2 and use their Rewards app. So I've gotten a number if gratis goodies from this place. It's fulfilling its genre in the area. So it works.

Nothing wrong with generous discounts over Easter though and I made a special trip into town to pick up a laundry basket I had spotted online. Five stars to the staff at the downstairs tills who went out of their way to assist me. The discount wasn't clear from the display (prices are guaranteed to be the same as on the website, good to know) and they picked up a boxed item from storage, then even added some string to make it easier to transport. I was a bit concerned to see both Habitat and Argos product numbers displayed on the box (apparently they are now both owned by the same group), instantly devaluing the item in my mind (am I a snob?!). But with the 30% off the Habitat version still saved me £10 over Argos - phew. The King's Road branch has just closed and I wonder how much longer Habitat will hold out next to Heal's.

The christmas light range has just come out, and I want all of the lights because they can make christmas good, no matter what. I think. Well they look beautiful anyway. The new habitat on Regent Street is set out like an art gallery apparently... will have to give it a little visit! What gets my goat the most is the bed linen and bed spreads and general bed things. They are amazing. Amazing patterns by various designers. Could make anyones bedroom look like the comfiest haven in the world. I found my dream bed throw.Oh my god! It was on sale! For £159. Damn. There are little decorative things I could afford, but the only thing I really WANT (or maybe even need...) is that silk bedspread. One day... one day.
