I had my hair done by Amanda twice and the second time was the give her another chance but that was…read morea mistake. I've been bleaching my hair for years, and unfortunately this was the worst experience I've had. The amount of bleach applied to my hair was excessive, it felt incredibly heavy while processing, and I ended up losing several inches of hair afterward due to the damage. One thing that really concerned me was that the bleach application started on the front ends of my hair. From my understanding, the ends are the most fragile part of the hair and generally shouldn't be the first area to receive bleach since they'll process the longest. Given the amount of breakage I experienced, this made me question the application technique. Because this has never happened before. I was also disappointed with the aftercare. Once my hair was washed, only a few sprays of product were applied, certainly not enough to cover my hair (real), which reaches the middle of my back. After such an intensive lightening service, I expected more conditioning and protective products to help restore moisture. Lastly, I wasn't a fan of the JZ styles shampoo and conditioner that were used. I completely understand wanting to promote and sell the salon's own product line, but when I'm paying for a professional salon service, I expect high-quality, professional salon products to be used throughout the appointment. Overall, I left with significantly damaged hair, lost length that took years to grow, and an experience that did not meet the standard I expect from a professional salon.

I was very disappointed in my experience with the instructors at Renaissance Academie. There is…read morepotential for burns in hair and skin treatments, whether from chemicals or tools. I was burned during treatment at Renaissance Academie last year. A year later, I am still scarred. The teachers, who are licensed professionals, handled the situation horribly. The one who was present at the front desk when I was charged for my service of burns told me that she had seen this happen before. Then I was later told the school had never had this happen before. I believe the state requires first aid training in curriculum and licensing. I received no cool compress. I received not a single bandage or sterile covering for my open wounds to protect the skin from bacteria and infection. I had to get oral and topical prescription antibiotics. If proper first aid basic care is not a state or accreditation requirement for licensed esthetics teachers, it should be. I think licensed professionals trained in skin care, and educating others in skin care, should know the difference between intact skin and open wounds. Based on my experience and encounters with the teachers and their poor handling and advising in the situation, I would personally be concerned about who is teaching or supervising service.

When I moved to Park City almost two years ago, I was genuinely worried about finding someone who…read morecould match the level of care I was used to in Florida. My previous facialist was exceptional, and I wasn't sure I'd ever find that again. Then I found Amy. Amy has every quality you hope for in a true skin expert--and then some. She is highly knowledgeable with a strong scientific foundation, incredibly experienced, and has that rare ability to understand exactly what your skin needs the moment she sees it. She's also incredibly strategic in how she approaches treatments. I've learned so much from her about how different steps and modalities build on each other to create real, cumulative results, especially in a high altitude, dry mountain climate like Park City. She focuses on things like collagen support and keeping the skin barrier healthy--concepts I never thought about until she explained them in such a simple, approachable way. And honestly, I was hooked, because the dry climate here is no joke. Her touch is gentle yet confident, her treatments are thoughtful and effective, and the results are consistently outstanding. What sets her apart even more is who she is as a person: kind, honest, warm, and genuinely invested in her clients. She never rushes, never oversells, and always explains the "why" behind what she's doing. You feel cared for, understood, and completely at ease in her hands. I can say without hesitation that Amy is the best of the best. Park City is unbelievably lucky to have her!

When I called Mary Lou she promptly answered the phone and was a total sweetheart! When you are a new client she sits down and has a one on one conversation about your goals and what you want to achieve; she also helps you find interventions that you can do at home yourself. Her care is very holistic and she doesn't believe in aggressive measures. She has a lot of products but she doesn't even pressure you to buy them at all.
