She began applying foils then started removing them almost immediately after placing them. I politely asked whether my hair had lifted enough, as I'm usually placed under a dryer for 10-15 minutes to process. She replied, "I'm really slow at foils, so you should be ready." After rinsing, I could tell something was off right away--my hair looked significantly darker than before. When it came time for styling, I asked for a big, bouncy blowout, but instead my hair was dried mostly by hand with her raking her fingers through my hair, with only a few sections near my face touched up with a round brush. The result was brown, frizzy, and flat. When I expressed concern--especially since my hair appeared about four shades darker and still had a clear line where my roots were--she said, "This is what I had time for today. Sorry your hair didn't lift enough." It honestly feels like instead of lightening my roots, she darkened the rest of my hair to try to blend them. The front desk booked with a color correction specialist, which tells me it was clear that something went wrong. I am attaching photos--they really show how far off the result is from what I expected. I also noticed a $30 charge for "an extra bowl of color" which seems to be a theme throughout every review I am reading. I would not care about this if my hair had not ended up brown. And to answer the question- yes I paid full price and gave a 18% tip. After being booked with a color correction specialist I received 3 messages - 2 texts and 1 email - stating they had my credit card on file and that if I did not cancel within the 48 hour period I would be charged full price for services. I am not even sure what they charge for color correction- when they booked me they did not quote a price for how much they planned to charge me to fix my hair.

I sent pictures of what I was looking for, they acted like no problem, we can do this. Then the time came, I came in all washed, dried, curled and ready to go for a beautiful updo (hoping). I was stressed because never but once have I had a successful updo. I felt good this was going to work. NOPE! Not this time. We had to re do several times, and finally I just threw in the towel, paid $74 which included a tip, for an updo that ruined my night. I kept it up because i had no time to take down. But every picture of me is HORRIBLE. I hated it. So sad. They are young and inexperienced, or ... IDK. Whatever it is, it isn't good.

It is super natural and perfect for the event I am attending. She is awesome and knows her stuff. Beware of liking your makeup so much you won't want to take it off at the end of the night. Megan also did my hair and she spent so much time making sure everything was perfect. It looks so good and she very carefully curled my hair with two different curl sizes so my hair has more dimension! She also added texturing spray, wax, so it stays in place. I am obsessed!!!! Some salons have a very pretentious vibe. I'm from CA and a lot of salons intimidate me. Maika, Megan, Saylor (the receptionist) are so sweet, so nice, so skilled and SOO funny! I wish I could bring home this salon and these lovely ladies with me :(. If I ever come back here, this will be my first stop!

When I learned of her mistake I went to beauty zone in person (less than 3 hours after her appt) and apologized for her behavior. She could not remember where she went or if she paid with card or the check I gave her (in case they didn't take a card). While at beauty zone, the person I spoke with said nothing about a no show fee. A couple days later I see a Mastercard charge from BZ for $165. I went there in person and learned that was their fee -- even though my wife dementia mistake occurred. I understand the inconvenience and money lost by the stylist. I also feel knowing the circumstances the charge is excessive. She paid $283 to the salon she dropped in on (thinking it was beauty zone) and now another $165 for nothing. This is a significant amount of money for retired seniors. The person I spoke with at beauty zone would not waive or reduce the penalty fee even knowing the dementia related rationale and my previous visit. We live in park city 3.5 months a year and will not be utilizing BZ services ever again. Want to bring this to other people's attention to be aware of this business practice.
