This is my honest review of my 1st experience here at Studio Evolve Tattoo. 1st the place is very clean, everyone there is very friendly and makes you feel good about getting your tattoo done there by the great artists that are there. I have 3 other tattoos I had gotten at another place and love them very much. Never had any complications at all. Went to the same place but they could not do what I wanted so I opted to go elsewhere. I searched almost all tattoo places here in virginia beach, VA even visited them, researched the places and artists etc.... Did not get a good vibe on many or they suggested doing my tat that I wanted a different way but I was determined to find a place who could do what I wanted. after all you want something you are happy with. Then I came across Studio Evolve Tattoo. I called and they said to come in and have a consult with a artist to see what they can do for me. met 1 gentleman and he said he could do it no problem but he was booked for several months so there was another artist available and I met with him. he said he could do it as well and had availability for me. I went in On May 6th,2016 1 day before my birthday to get it done. It went very well and I was very happy with the outcome of what he did !!! Exactly as I wanted. I followed the aftercare to the T as told (and as I did with the others I have) so I knew what it would Take to heal properly. Everything went well until 5 days in it took a turn. ( I want to stress I am not blaming anyone for what has conspired at all ! It's just something that happened with this particular tat I got ) It started scabbing as normal but looked more than usual. It got heavy scabs on it and some areas did peel as normal but took a long time for the scabs to fall off on their own. It could have been caused by too much ointment at the beginning, or not getting it completely cleaned in the 1st days, or a little heavy hand going over the tat in spots, or did not let it dry longer between washings and applying ointment / lotion etc.... There are many reasons this could have happened and I could have contributed to the way it is healing, no one is perfect. Tried to contact the artist via email, facebook, studio thru email but never got a response so someone else finally responded to my questions and answered me. then The wonderful owner / artist stepped in and started communicating with me and guided me step by step on caring for this.... I emailed countless emails to him and every time he responded with what to do throughout this whole thing to date. I know I'm probably a pain with so many questions etc.... but he still responds in a professional manner and a fantastic attitude. This experience will not stop me from going there to get another one at all. To me, the best time to get a new tattoo (my opinion) is in the winter months or early spring to give it enough healing time without having to worry about going out in the sun, swimming etc.. I love summer and am outside all the time. I WILL GO BACK WITH NO HESITATION. This Is a place that goes above and beyond to help with any issues, does their best to give you what you want in a tattoo and so on..... Oh... and they are very reasonable and and on spot with their pricing... every artist there has different pricing protocalls but it is well worth it !!! read more

First off the vibes at this studio are the best vibes ever. They have a great group of artists and you just feel at home. Now to go-off on the incredibly talented Corinna Sayward (@corinnaelise.tattoos). I booked her for the first time back in September because I was going to be in VB for the weekend (I live in NJ). We immediately hit it off and I was blown away by her talent that I rebooked with her 2 months later. I told her my concept and the inspiration but had no photos to back it up. I gave her complete creative liberty with a rough guideline of where I wanted it and how big. What she created was as if she took up residency in my head. She drew exactly what I was thinking and her execution was FLAWLESS. It took approx 2hrs and it looked phenomenal when she was done(it still looked phenomenal)!! The healing process was one of the easiest ones for both of my tattoos done by her and truly highlights her expertise and knowledge. Everyday I look at my tattoos by her and am just constantly blown away. My biggest complaint is that she's based in VB. But honestly the 7hr drive to her is worth it!! She does also travel and do residencies. She also is just a genuinely dope human being who provides great conversation to pass the time. Also can I just say incredibly affordable! Corinna always has stuck within budget for me and honestly everytime I go to pay am shocked that she isn't more for how talented she is (which is fine means I can tip her more). read more

I was only in town for a short time, but this shop made the entire experience seamless from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and professional. The atmosphere was clean, organized, and comfortable -- you can tell they take pride in what they do. I had a tight schedule and needed to adjust my appointment (with reasonable notice), and they were extremely accommodating and patient. That level of understanding and flexibility meant a lot, especially since I was working with limited time. My consultation and tattoo were with Jeff, and I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience. He's an exceptionally talented artist whose attention to detail and precision really stand out. He took the time to make sure everything was exactly how I envisioned it, and the quality of his work is immaculate. On top of that, he's a super cool, down-to-earth guy who makes the whole process comfortable and easy. This was truly a great experience. If I'm ever back in the area, I won't hesitate to book with him again. Highly recommend this shop and especially Jeff if you're looking for top-tier work. read more

This is by far, the best tattoo shop in the area. The staff is awesome and friendly, the environment is very welcoming and clean, and the talent of the artists is unsurpassed by any others, hands down! I have been getting tattooed by Andy Chambers for over 5 years, and of the 2 shops he's been with, this one makes the other look like a dirt-floored-garage-studio. The atmosphere is always bright and adventurous. They even host art shows for local artists of various mediums. (Photographers, painters, sculptors etc.) Pairs of artists share rooms which allows the customer to experience somewhat of a private session without the nuisance of other customers just coming in to take a look. I highly recommend this shop for anyone who wants a high quality custom tattoo. You may have to schedule in advance to get your tattoo, but it's worth the wait for superior work. read more

I went to studio evolve for my first ever tattoo because a family member of mine highly recommended them. They did not disappoint! The shop itself looks great! Nice and artsy and clean! And everyone there was so nice! I went in with only a vague idea of the tattoo I wanted. Their receptionist asked me what kind of style I was looking for and recommended I get my piece done by Mattlock Lopes. And she was right to do so. His art is incredible and he is VERY easy to get tattooed by. He took my idea and gave me everything I wanted and then some! I Had a problem with other places I had gone to for the piece and either I didn't like the overall vibes of the other places or the artists tried to change the piece too much. But not with Studio Evolve. I would suggest them to anyone and everyone! read more

This is the best tattoo shop I've been to! I had been looking to get a tattoo for my birthday and looked at a few other places before this one, but the others didn't seem as eager to help me. The staff at Studio Evolve is so quick to help you with your tattoo needs and they really take the time to make sure everything is exactly how you want it. The receptionists are very nice and helpful with any questions you may have. Kevin did my anklet tattoo and he did an amazing job. He is very precise and a perfectionist with his work. Also great to know that he offers free retouching if anything were to fade over the years. This is now going to be my go-to tattoo shop for my next pieces I plan to get. I highly recommend this shop to everyone. Thanks again! :) read more

this studio is truly state of the art! It's incredibly clean and sanitary as well as modern with semi private rooms. The artists are AMAZING! I've been tattooed by Tanane, Sierra, Gabe and Jon. And I'll be coming back to get tattooed by Marshall and Randy and Johnnyi! The entire staff is fun and Studio Evolve is so much more than a tattoo shop....they are changing the ways tattooing is performed! It's the only place I'll get a tattoo and I make sure my friends and family get theirs there, too. The prices are fair and reasonable, the artists are incredible, everything is sterile and new, and I always leave knowing I have an original piece of artwork that is guaranteed to look amazing forever!!! check them out on www.studioevolvetattoo.com read more

From the moment I walked in the door Studio Evolve was warm and inviting. The front desk staff were nice and friendly. The shop is very clean, spacious and has tons of amazing artwork on display. I had a consultation with Mattlock to kick him my idea, he genuinely seemed excited to work on the piece. I set up an appt with ease, they even called to remind me of my appt. Mattlock nailed the piece and I'm amazed at how detailed he was. Studio Evolve has so many artist to choose from whether you want realism, new school, American Traditional they can meet your needs. I would without a doubt recommend Studio Evolve for your tattoo needs. Thank you Mattlock and everyone at Studio Evolve for the amazing experience. read more

Studio Evolve is an amazing tattoo shop. I came in to get a tattoo last Friday from one of the apprentices Kasey May and was shocked how easy the process was. The front desk was so kind and the vibe was so relaxed. Kasey was PHENOMENAL, she is so sweet and really takes her time to check in with you and make sure you're happy during the process. The tattoo she created for me was perfect, for a free tattoo I'm amazed how much effort and time she put in. Even her mentor checked on me during the process. Kasey was so fun to chat with during the tattoo as well and I'm in love with my new tattoo. I love her and I will definitely be coming back to get more tattoos from her! read more

I started getting tattooed by Gabriel Cece a few years ago and have followed him to his own shop. Studio Evolve is super clean, and a great atmosphere. The staff is so friendly, professional, and makes you feel right at home...comfortable. I am currently getting a new tattoo by Tanane Whitfield. They both have their own unique style to fit anyone's needs. And the prices are very reasonable for the area we are in. I recommend both artists to everyone I meet. I won't go anywhere else to get my custom tattoos. Nobody else will ever have the same tattoo since every single one is custom and different. No flash art here. read more

I will have to tell you that I am very skeptical about going to any new places, especially ones that my friends refer me to. Randy Templin is an awesome artist. I had an idea of a tribute to my Grandfather who has been an inspiration to my family for all these years. Randy's drawing was everything that I could have imagined. I have went to other tattoo places around Hampton Roads but Studio Evolve has really exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for the overall package I would love to recommend this place. Just look at their website http://studioevolvetattoo.com/ read more

A professional tattoo studio with an abundance of excellent artists. Their website is easy to navigate with plenty of subject matter to see examples of each artists work. I've had multiple sessions with Nikki Canady (I'm not done yet) and her work is so awesome I just had to show it off. First, she brightened up an old tattoo so quickly I can hardly believe it! Next I asked for a word in graffiti art style and she tattooed it so much better than I could have expected! I can't wait to finish the rest of my arm! Thanks Nikki and Studio Evolve read more

Intensely Clean. Super Bright. Airy. Professional. Friendly. Welcoming. All of this, and more are descriptors one could use about Studio Evolve. I've had 7 tattoos, and the majority of them were done at Studio Evolve, and I keep coming back because it's, quite frankly, the best of the best. Currently, I'm working on a back piece with Gabe that has far exceeded my expectations and I know is going to be amazing. The front staff is friendly and relaxed and everyone I've met is top notch. I highly recommend Studio Evolve! read more

Love, Love, Love Studio Evolve. Best Artists in Hampton Roads. I have a half sleeve that the amazing Marshall Sinclair did for me. He was able to capture what I wanted and then some. I am a life long follower of him, and back every artist there up 100%. Friends that I have sent to him and to others are just amazed and stoked to have beautiful artwork that they can display forever. My husband even has had stunning work done on his rib cage from Marshall. Don't go anywhere else, you wont be disappointed!!!! read more

Studio Evolve is the best Tattoo experience in Hampton Roads. I shopped around at many shops before deciding to go with Studio Evolve. This shop is hands down the best shop for me. It is always clean, have a great vibe, and is staffed with stellar artists. The people there are kind and professional. The shop owner Gabriel CeCe is my tattoo artist. He has taken my ideas to whole new heights with his creativity and attention to detail. After many sessions I've nothing but super-terrific experiences here. read more

I looked long and hard for an artist capable of biomechanical work. I found one, his name is Marshall. He's a true professional that does excellent work. Moreover, he can carry on an intelligent conversation. BONUS! He's prettty chill, and is prepared with designs, etc. I have now found my artist for furture works. As you know, that is no mean feat. Additionally, the shop itself is clean and maintained by a courteous and helpful staff. I highly recommend this shop and specifically Marshall. read more

I'm about half way through a chest piece with Gabe and I have to say that I have no interest in going to any other shop than studio evolve. Gabe takes pride in his art and in his shop. You can tell because all the tattoos are awesome and all his artist are really friendly and professional. The only down side to this is how far they are booked but trust me its worth the wait. Whatever style or size you want I guarantee there's an artist at studio evolve who can do the piece your looking for. read more

When I first pulled in to the parking lot, I thought my GPS was broke! You don't often see a tattoo shop in an office park!! Walking in you're met with nice, low volume music... hard wood floors... a receptionist behind a desk. Miles away from any other shop I've ever been to!! The staff is amazing, easy to set-up appointments, and always on time! Whether your first or one-hundredth, you should absolutely go to Studio Evolve! Your only regret will be not going sooner!! read more
