Also helped me to see if I can find some cushions the patio bench seat. Service was excellent for Toronto retail. I didn't catch her name but she helped me get an estimate for what the delivery fee would be and I had the option to take 2 chairs home and come pick up the rest another day. Part 2 of my pick up, she recognized me and helped me take the dining table out of its box so I can fit it in my car and carry it out easier. She carried all the way outside of the store. She's petite and I wasn't expecting her to help me right out the door and she did! I can't say the same happens at other stores even if it's someone taller stronger, they may not help carry out something so willingly. Thanks for the great shopping experience!

During my move, I worked close to their old location on Ossington, and drew so much inspiration from their aesthetic during my lunch breaks. I bought everything from mirrors to picture frames to dishes to adorable trinkets to bath towels. I even painted my new bedroom the exact same Benjamin Moore green that they had in their storefront window. The space of their newer location on Dundas is wonderful (aka much more room for cute things). Highly recommend. Everyone is always friendly and helpful as well.

How could I NOT go into this store!? Looks-wise it's just like the standard HomeGoods we're used to in the States... except its bigger and better. And really roomy. Sometimes these types of stores are so packed you can barely move around - not this location. Set in a lower level/basement like space it felt modern and comfortable. Walking in - I instantly wished I had brought an extra duffle bag. Between the aisles of pillows, the kitchen/dining section, and the picture frames - I was in heaven. Fortunately for Hubs they also have tons of furniture, so he was able to find a {super cute} chair up front to relax in while I wandered. B/c my luggage could not accommodate all that I had seen I settled on a really beautiful picture frame to commemorate our visit to Toronto. Check out was super easy - seeing as how they had several cashiers available. And my frame, after $$ conversion was only $7. Yay for HomeSense!

I've been such a fan of their products, and it was great to see their full selection on view! We were only browsing today but their products aren't the cheapest, but they aren't the most expensive either. My sister asked the sales associate if they sold water, as it was quite hot this day, and since they didn't sell refreshments they offered to refill out bottle! It was so sweet of her. I do purchase their products, so will be sure to look at their hanging shelves when I'm back home!

My friend and I carried it from this store to my apartment, roughly two blocks away. It was that heavy, but it was a minimalistic, practical item that looked good in a tiny space. Over a decade ago, I used to attend musicals in the entertainment district. I would often visit the Umbra store before a show. I got everything from the Bungee to photo frames. To this day, I travel with a Bungee, which stores various US credit cards and currency. I often swap them out with my Canadian ones when I'm am stateside, and vice-versa when I return home. The bungee part has never weakened after all these years. There isn't any parking by this store. I had parked across the street under Shoppers Drug Mart. I walked over to check this store out. It felt the same, except that the top floor is now a clearance section. I was so happy. I love penguins have been a fan of Umbra's penguin liquid soap pump since its inception in 2008. This clearance section had a modern version of the penguin pump dispenser, including an automatic version. These dispensers were 50% off. I got one of each. The only item that I didn't like was a coiled stool. It was not comfortable sitting on it. It was in the clearance section. Only folks who want to replace the coiled top with a comfortable cushion would be inclined to buy one. This store is kind of like a museum. It was fun seeing when items were first introduce by year and how they have endured. The Bungee and penguin pumps are two such items. It was nice seeing jewellery racks and vessels for plants and more. I tend to get inspired sprucing up my place whenever I see Umbra products. Strumba caught my attention, which is Umbra's version of the kalimba. If I didn't own a kalimba already, I would have bought the Strumba. It's a fun, small instrument to play. There's so much coolness at this store. Doorstoppers. Chess sets. Shoe racks. Tipsy bottle openers to match the sipper. I had the nicest man at the checkout. I paid with a credit card. He placed my items in a paper bag with handles and came out of his area to hand it to me. It was such a classy move and was a nice touch. I wished him a great evening. He reciprocated. I left happy with my clearance items. I hope to not wait over a decade to return to this store. Of note, my soap dispensers are awesome. (389)

An important note: if you are looking for bamboo, you have come to the right place. I have always found the Plaiter Place to have lots of bamboo products and sticks of various sizes. Bu then, I went in recently and came out with salad tongs and a cheese knives. You never know what you're going to get. I think it all came out to less than $15, so definitely great bang for your buck.

This shop, is the total opposite. Immaculate. There isn't even any dust on any of the products, AMAZING. Everything is organized, neat, labeled, it looks like someone's home with the cute little handwritten signs saying: Please don't open! Please don't touch! You break item, you buy item! Great place for bamboo and everything to do with bamboo. I also love the paper lanterns there, and if I had an apartment I'd totally decorate it with a bamboo or paper lantern umbrella.. it's just gorgeous. Love. LOVE. Love. Also, the prices are uber cheap. $0.89 for a little bamboo spoon! Most places like Williams Sonoma would charge you $3 because it's an "eco-friendly sexy product". Here, bamboo it is what it is -- a cheap, renewable, green resource. I also like that they're frugal and eco-friendly. They wrap whatever you buy in newspaper rather than give you a bag. Love.
