The staff here is highly unprofessional. My wedding party of 5 women had their hair done, and only 1 of them were happy with the styling at the end of the day. As the bride, I had taken the time (and expense) to do a practice up-do and makeup with my stylist prior to my wedding day, and I had loved both. On the day of my wedding, however, he did my hair in a very different and very disappointing way - it ruined several of my wedding pictures due to its tackiness. Additionally, the stylists argued with my mother and sister that the styles they wanted could not be done, persuading them to have a different hairstyle done. My sister and my mother of course hated what the stylists ended up doing. They asked for a redo, considering that their original requests had been ignored, and the owner of the salon actually yelled at my mother and told her they couldn't change their hair anymore. The owner is a tacky, horrible woman. I do not recommend this salon for weddings, cuts, colors, anything! You are treated poorly as a customer, the quality of work is not worth the price, and several of the stylists are incapable of doing hair well. I decided to try my luck at this salon, because it got several Best Of Buffalo rewards for nail services. I looked at their menu and noticed they did artificial nails, so I went there today to get a full set. My friend and I walk in and were ignored by the 4 people at the counter for about a minute or two, then I asked if I could get a full set and she abruptly tells me, "we don't do artificial nails, we only do manicures and the shellac." IT'S ON YOUR WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!! I went in there specifically for this and they don't offer it????? What is that?? The other women was very nice and explained the shellac process to me and things of that nature. You might want to call ahead to make sure they do what they say they do on their website. I've gotten several services at 806 but it is by far my favorite place for a mani-pedi. The studio is both welcoming and relaxing and everyone is so friendly. My gel nails lasted for weeks longer than other places I have tried! read more

I received a gift for a One-Hour Swedish Message I called repeatly got machine, left message with phone number to call me back and guess what, no phone called returned and gift has expired. So I guess what not such a great deal and will stick to southtowns. Very upset that gift went unused! read more

I am writing a review, because this place seemed to me, a little ridiculous. I live in Boston, MA but am getting married in Buffalo in two weeks. I came in here on a Saturday with my Mother, looking for a place for myself and my bridal party to get our hair/make-up done. I stood and spoke to a woman named Vanessa who assured me of how amazing this place was, how they work on the hair of models, etc., as I had expressed I was looking for somewhere sheek and contemporary to have my hair done. She told me that she was not sure if the "owners" would be able to accomodate my wedding party, as, multiple times she said, "we don't open untill 10am on Fridays". I gave her all of my info to give to her owners, and I waited for them to call me back as she said they would by Tuesday. They did not get back to me, so I followed up on Wed. The same woman I spoke to answered the phone, and I was a bit peeved that they had not gotten back to me, as I am now trying to book my wedding day! She said she would, once again, talk to the owners to see if they could come in that Friday. Once again, I did not here back from her. Finally, I called Thursday, and wanted to know what the heck was going on. She said she would ask the owners and call me back in 5-10 minutes...SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK!! I thought this was one of the most UN-PROFESSIONAL Experiences I have ever had with a hair styling salon. It was as if they were doing me a favor to "potentially" work on my wedding party!! AND they were asking for 50% deposit for everybody UPFRONT! This place is not at all as it seems. I don't care if you have good hair stylists...there are 100 other awesome places to go in the area! These people need to come down of the high horse and get with program! I would never recommended this place and would advise people to stay away of false customer service!! Bad News!! read more

I tried this place because I purchased a coupon from Groupon. The staff seemed really nice when I went in. I got a facial but the lady doing the facial wasn't very warm or friendly; she never smiled and and when she was doing the extraction it didn't bother her that I was cringing or in pain. I got a massage and the room was freezing. I had to ask the masseus to turn up the heat because I had goose flesh all over. She put on a warming blanket! Everytime I exposed a body part, it froze and it was the most uncomfortable massage I've ever received! I guess you get what you pay for. read more

I was a first time customer to the salon looking to get a balayage after seeing many great reviews. When I called, they got me right in- one of the only pluses to this salon. I specifically asked for a golden balayage, however in the end the highlights were BARELY even noticeable, just a few very small pieces, that were more of an orange-y color than the golden i requested. Nothing at all like the photos I showed. The stylist at the end even said "it's very subtle". Not a huge deal. I called back a few days later, nicely explaining that "very subtle" just really wasn't what I was looking for. She said no problem, the stylist can get you right in and pop in some brighter color for no charge - I was so impressed with that!! At the second appointment, I again requested a balayage, but more of a golden color, and brought more photos. I was so shocked when I saw the results I couldn't speak. She had dyed MY ENTIRE HEAD, minus 2 inches of my roots, a BRIGHT YELLOW. She immediately stated that she thought "we needed to go darker". The color, after being "fixed", ended up being a "beige blond" that was still yellowish in color. Again, nothing like the color I requested, twice now. But lets get back to the fact that my entire head was dyed this color. This was NOT a balayage! 2 salons I went to after the fact looking to get it corrected each stated it looked like a "ridiculously high ombre". To top it off, leaving the salon, they ended up charging me for another full balayage!! I went home, feeling hopeful, thinking that maybe I just needed to look at it in better light, but no. It was terrible. I was in tears. I sent a message to the salon with photos and a description of what I wanted vs what I ended up with, and asked to have the owner contact me. The owner did call, but I missed the call due to traveling and she left a voicemail. I called back within the hour and left her a voicemail. I didn't hear back for several days, so I again called and left another voicemail. I did this several more times. That was now almost 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard back after leaving multiple messages. Highly unprofessional. Whether this was a severe amount of miscommunication or a profound lack of skills, I'm not sure. But either way, if stylist cannot understand what a customer wants to this degree, or if they are this unskilled, they should not be behind the chair. I also absolutely cannot believe the unprofessionalism of the owner on top of it. I would not recommend this salon if you want someone who can understand what you are looking for and deliver that. read more

I got a tip before I moved to Buffalo about this salon. I went there when I moved and have never looked back. After reading other reviews, I think the reviewers were probably a bit pretentious themselves. One really needs to have a relaxed attitude there. All the staff do. I've never had a bad haircut. The color is spot-on. I feel welcomed when I visit. I've been going to Jen since I arrived, but would entrust my hair to anyone working. The owners are fantastic (despite other reviews) and Vanessa and Holly rock that reception desk like it's no one's business. Obviously, I can't mention every person who works there, but it's always such a positive experience. Wine while I wait...another glass while my color is soaking in. What more could a girl want?! They've been voted best salon in Buffalo for Best of Buffalo. Definitely check them out. Let your guard down and relax....you're being treated. P.S. It helps if you're not so tight lipped too. Talk to your hairdresser...They all have some crazy stories to tell you. read more

This place i am currently suing due to them BURNING OFF MY HAIR W bleach. I always had to tone my own hair and when they burned off my hair which i took FOREVER to grow they tried to make me think something was medically wrong w me as to why my hair was falling out in clumps!! DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON IF U LOVE YOUR HAIR! Then to boot they tried to charge me more than every before when this happened cause they knew i would NEVER go back there! I personally know some of them and Lisa b and Chris c on here above posts are employees at studio 806, I was going there for 2 yrs before this happened (Only when my other colorist was out of town- I was never a regular, THANK GOD, I would be bald)!!!and don't know eryones name and position. That should be your only clue TO STAY AWAY. When they have to write their "Only good reviews" Email me if u have any questions.
