I purchased a livingsocial or groupon (I forget which one) for $99 for a Global Keratin Treatment. A treatment that has been recommended to me several times in the past at other salons, but for $300- $350 because of the length and thickness of my hair. I was told before the treatment process began that it would be $50 extra because of the amount of hair I have. $149 I could live with, especially if it lasts several months and my hair is more manageable. Jen took care of me, start to finish, in two hours. She was professional, kind and I would return to the salon to have her repeat the keratin treatment in the future. I also had a chance to check out the cabana for couples massage outside in the garden. Great idea, I plan on setting up a date night for dinner and massage this summer. Overall, it is a great place with an eclectic atmosphere and friendly staff. read more

I had the worst manicure of my life here, including ones I gave myself when I was 5. He let my hands soak way too long and when he tried to file them, my nails started tearing. Just remembering it gives me the willies. While we chatted, the guy told me he had literally been hired off the street when he walked by and Karen asked, "have you ever done hair?" Also, the nail polish was old a disgusting and wouldn't go on smoothly. So after over soaking, I got to have nail polish remover strip everything that was left from my nail, at least twice, before we finally finished. It looked awful but I didn't want more nail polish remover, so I bit my tongue. I had also scheduled a pedicure and massage in this visit. I was there four hours!!! The massage was good but the pedicure as also subpar. He may have said it was his first. There was nothing fancy or nice about it. While I was spending an entire day "relaxing" here, I got to hear Karen fighting with a woman who had just had her hair colored and was upset at how it turned out. Karen kept telling her that her hair was too destroyed from straightening it while wet and frying it...and said this over and over for about forty five minutes. I wanted to like this place but it is bizarre, the staff are...I don't know where they come from, but she hires a guy to do hair and then apparently tells him to go ahead and do manicures because there is nothing to it. On 5/5/2013, I decided to try a nail salon in my brand new neighborhood. I wanted to like this place SO badly. It's super convenient to the new apartment, and I love that I can walk to it. I called before I left to make sure they took walk-ins (they did). I should have asked if they had a nail tech available or even on duty. When I arrived, the owner greeted me and then frantically started making phone calls to find a nail tech. When one wasn't available, she and her newly hired (still in cosmetology school) assistant began my pedicure. The owner left Melissa (her assistant) to do *everything* in the pedicure expect paint (which Melissa said she was not good at). The problem was the Melissa had been on the job LESS THAN A WEEK and had no idea what she was doing. She was sweet, eager to please, but the owner should NEVER have left her alone to do the pedicure. I was charged $30 for a pedicure where I had to paint my own toes (the owner came over to do the polish and called it "good" when FOUR of my toes were missing paint on the sides) AND I had to clip my own toe nails (Melissa was afraid of the clippers and didn't want to use them). DO NOT IGNORE THE REVIEWS FOR THIS PLACE. DO NOT GO HERE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. It's not just me. It will be you too. Allentown REALLY needs a good nail place. Any suggestions? read more

This place is just so weird. From the outside, you wouldn't guess it is a salon/spa. I had passed it before and just thought it sold ugly clothing but it is in fact so much more. It is overflowing with weird knick-knacks and the place is very dusty. I am rather allergic to dust, so this made it hard to enjoy my time inside the building. The bathroom is a shell phantasm and if you like shells or the beach, you will love it. Everyone else will be weirded out. I have been here twice both with groupons/living social deals for massages. (The owner told me last time that they won't be doing any more groupons.) I would not go here otherwise because it is a little pricey. I have found everyone working here to be quite nice though. They were quite attentive and prompt. I think they have two massage therapists. The first time I went, I had the guy and it was in their outdoor cabana. Now, the outdoor part I really liked and could see that it would be nice to have a bridal party outing here or something along those lines - but it is risky endeavor to book something like that because you are dependent on the weather. The guy was fine. There is nothing memorable about the massage -- just relaxing. My second time there I had the woman and was inside for a hot stone massage. It was not worth the extra price for the hot stones. She laid them on my back and wrapped my feet with cloths & stones. She also massaged with the stones. This did nothing for me. It was a very gentle massage and I left with just as many knots in my back as when I arrived. I see no reason to return here. read more

I purchased a GROUPON deal for a Global Keratin treatment that was being offered by EBS. The promotion for the treatment was $99. The fine print for the deal was that extra charges may apply for very long or very thick hair. I have neither, so I couldnt pass this deal by. I had never heard of the salon or seen it despite shopping/living in the Elmwood area for about 3 years. When I called to make my appointment, I called at 9:30 am on a Tuesday and it rang a number of times before someone picked up and just said "hello?" in a pretty abrupt voice. Thinking that I must have had the wrong number because who would answer the phone at a business like that, I said sorry, and hung up. About 20 minutes later, someone called me back from the number and said "sorry we missed your call", etc, "can we schedule you for an appointment?" I made the appointment, despite being bewildered about the person that answered the phone, the call back, etc. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the manager who took my groupon print out and then brought me upstairs to where the hair station chairs where. I sat down and she explained to everyone in the salon how the treatment was administered. Then she told me that there was going to be an extra 50 dollar charge because of the length of my hair, which is just past my shoulders and very fine. I was very surprised and very upset. The manager asked if that was going to be O.K.? I had to agree, because I had already paid the $99 for the groupon so I had no choice. Then a very young girl took me over to get my hair washed, which was done with ice cold water. To my dismay, the young girl took me back over to the chair as I learned that she would be the one administering the treatment. The entire time the girl was working on my hair she was signing loudly (and badly) along to the bizarre music that was being played throughout the salon. She didn't utter more than 10 words to me throughout our nearly 3 hours together, instead spoke to the other employees as they sat around and watched her work on me. I am usually not one for the chit chat while getting my hair done but I thought that this was pretty rude. The salon overall was very messy and cluttered. There was a very small work space with only 2 hair stations. The rest of the space was filled with a million couches and chairs, rugs ( rugs in a hair salon?), dead/ dying plants and a ton of mismatched artwork/ statues/ figurines, etc. There was a dining room table in the middle of the room where the hair stations where with a ton of the figurines, and a full set of wine glasses and dishes and bowls (it was unclear what the were doing there). When I was set to leave, the manager asked how I'd be paying. I told her credit and she said she'd have to take my credit card into the basement to do it on the computer, despite having a seemingly full register on the counter at the entrance. She disappeared into the basement for about 10 minutes and then gave me a receipt on a printed out piece of paper. Overall, it was a very odd experience- I'm very upset about being charged the extra $50 for no reason. The treatment ended up coming out okay so far. I will see in the coming weeks how long its lasts. read more

Awful experience. Not worth a penny. Unexperienced hair stylists....never again! Save your money!!!!!

We went for a swedish massage and had them done as a couples massage outside in the cabana. They tout themselves as having the only outdoor cabana massage in Buffalo. It is worth it. They know what they're doing and it's very relaxing. read more

I purchased a 'Seize the Deal" deal for a facial here. I scheduled my appointment and the was called 2 days later and asked to come in earlier, which I wasn't able to do. It didn't stop Karen from calling me AGAIN the next day and asked me to come earlier. I should have cancelled right then and there. On my appointment date, I was greeted with "Do you have your coupon?" and clearly I was messing up her life by being there at the time I booked. Again- I should have left. My facial sucked. It was rushed and sloppy and Karen either had her Ipod on very loud, or her phone was on in her pocket because I hear muffled music the entire time. She seemed to be rushing through each step. This was especially evident when the peppermint (?) toner LANDED IN MY EYE!. That was bad enough but the sigh when asked if I wanted some eye drops almost put me over the edge. She went to get them, stopping to answer the phone and then to speak to someone in the salon while my eye was burning like crazy. When she returned, I asked to please finish as I had had enough. While checking out, she started pushing their massage services on me and tried to get me to book another facial! Seriously? I'm standing in front of her with a VERY red and watery left eye and globs of exfollient in my hair( which I discovered when I got in to my car) none of which she even apologized for, and she's trying to get me to come back? No thank you. Save your money folks. read more

The woman was nice but she kept rescheduling our eyelash app. And then finally when she was able to do them, that same night they started falling out .. By the time I woke up the next day they were all over my pillow. She said that last about a month or TWO... I then contacted her and told her this and she said she'll buy new glue.. It's been two weeks and I still haven't gotten the new lashes, because she always has some excuse to why she isn't able to that day. I will never go here again read more

This was an awful experience. Not only did the stylist seem like he didn't know how to do my hair, but they also did a terrible job with my eyebrows. The lady that did it ripped off a good chunk of my brow, and when I told her how bad it looked she had the nerve to say it looked better than when I came in! It looked like I let a child wax my eyebrows! It took a long time for them to grow back in. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've been coming to Everything Beauty Salon for a little while now. I went there on a whim to get my hair cut and I have been returning ever since. The manager and her staff are very friendly, and very helpful. They really make you feel at home. Jenny took care of my haircuts each time and each time I have left feeling satisfied. I cannot speak for any other salon treatments they offer (nails, hair treatments, spa, etc) but for a nice cut, wash and style Jenny is your girl! She is very modern and knows what is current and fresh when it comes to styling your hair. read more

I had the worst salon experience of my life here. I had met the owner at her thrift shop, called for a cut, color and style service for myself and a beard trim and haircut for my roommate. I specified that I wanted to go silver, asked if that was a color I needed to bring myself as I'm aware it might not be standard, I was assured they had it but she stated a stylist wasn't in that day but she would call him to see if he would come in stating he was the best. he did which impressed and pleased me however he couldn't understand the cut my roommate or myself wanted (male and female) he had to be talked through it with pictures and still failed, bleached my hair unnecessarily which he admitted during the second round of cutting my hair to be the correct cut, completely failed my roommates cut which was a simple mens cut with a fade, and refused the beard trim up. after bleaching my hair realized they did not have the color I wanted. so the owner went to sally's to get semi-permanent hair dye, which turned out to be wash out booster of some sort that will come out in two washes. she told me about how she would be firing another employee, which was completely unprofessional then went on about how I should consider how great their place is because they went so out of their way to help me, also charged me full price for everything including 2 bleaches because the measurement of bleach or something(fyi I had less than shoulder length, very fine hair) the owner and stylist have great personalities that being said I would NEVER recommend and my roommate and I personally will never return. read more
