I've been a member here for the past 2 years. I'm moving now and have to switch gyms, so I thought…read moreI'd share what I like about this place before I go. My experience with Fitness 19 AC has been well! I've gained some muscle, enhanced my workout routines, and even gotten to know some people along the way. This gym offers a great amount of equipment: squat racks, benches, tons of dumbbells, a green, and lots of machines (pec fly, cable, Smith, etc). When some of the more popular items are taken, I can usually pivot to an alternative device to prevent losing time. Their equipment is mostly well-maintained, with machines getting fixed quickly after being down. The staff working here, for the most part, are friendly and helpful. I've never been trained by them, but everyone I see with a trainer usually has a smile on their face. I never had any issues with staff members and even got to know some of them by name. I was able to lock in a decent rate with Fitness 19, and their price to value ratio will probably never be beaten. There were basically no hidden fees, just sign up and pay month to month. Frankly, I've been spoiled, and the process of signing up for a new gym will be painful because there is so much nonsense out there! Cancelling was easy too, granted that I had been attending for over a year. I met many people there, and usually if you attend regularly (which you should if you're trying to improve), you'll see the same people over and over again. This is a great place if you want to foster relationships with gym homies. Every gym goer I spoke with here was super friendly, even the gargantuan guys who bench 300+. If I had to critique one thing about this location, it would be sanitation. I'm a clean freak, so perhaps I'm biased, but I wish their [men's] restrooms smelled better (lots of protein powder and pre workout lol). That, and their drinking fountain water tastes off to me (may want to see if there is a filter to check or something like that); there is also calcium deposits around the mouth pieces too. These factors didn't stop me from enjoying my time at Fitness 19, however, if they were mitigated, I would have enjoyed it all the more. Overall, I'd check this place out if you're looking to improve health and fitness for a great price! I'm no longer in the area, but I can say that Fitness 19 AC played a big part in my life. Thanks, guys. Tl:dr Pros: - Decent amount of equipment - Friendly staff - Excellent value, price-wise - Good and friendly gym culture Cons: - Sanitation - Long wait times for popular equipment

I've been going to this gym for the past few years- it's got a lot of pros, but some serious cons…read morethat are making me consider cancelling my membership and trying out another gym altogether... Let's start with the pros. PROS: super reasonable pricing, especially for everything you get. Friendly & helpful staff. Love that they have a turf area as well as a studio/ mirrored area for classes, and it's good extra floor space when classes aren't in session. Nice that they have a sauna, red light therapy, tanning booth, hydromassage, and IN Body scan available. Good range of equipment/ plate loaded machines, squat racks, cardio machines, TRX, you name it. CONS: Here's what's making me reconsider my membership... the bathroom cleanliness is pretty unbearable. It's always been pretty dirty but I've been able to suck it up and tolerate it. Within the past month, I've started to notice black mold in the showers (unmistakably- it's fuzzy and everything), moldy and smelly shower curtains, wads of hair that don't get moved for weeks (indicating they're clearly not cleaning), and yesterday there were little black bugs on the shower floors that sort of looked like small black silverfish? The mats outside of the showers finally got cleaned a couple months ago, but they're starting to get that soapy/ moldy build up again. The sauna floor is extremely dirty as well and I'm not sure how often they clean it... makes me worry what we're breathing in. They also don't have any recycling bins despite California law and all of the cans and plastic they accumulate. :( These concerns have been brought up internally numerous times by many members of the gym and nothing seems to be improving. I'm super bummed because I otherwise love the gym, but I just need to keep my health and safety in mind. I shower here every morning before work and I don't want to be breathing in black mold... Hope they do something soon- it's a serious health code violation at this point.

I'm just going to settle on 3 stars here, an average of all my experiences. Long story short, if…read moreyou go to the ER while you are here or shortly after, you have to immediately return with a copy of a doctor's note or email it. You need to do this asap and specify freezes on all services. If you have Kids Klub, END IT. I went to Vivian who was there the last time I had an ER visit a couple years ago: this past December, I was injured again suddenly on site during a training appointment (due to my body/health situation, not my trainer or an exercise injury) and I let her know I was getting a ride to the ER this time instead of an ambulance, since it was a was a touch less urgent. She was responsive this day and seemed to enter the freezes correctly. I dropped off the first note 2 days later to support a freeze for a couple months since a major surgery would get scheduled. I was told I had an 8" growth and cancer in my blood and had to wait the entire winter holidays for further info until doctors were back in the hospital. A few weeks later the billing began... I called Vivian and mentioned my bank was informed of my condition and knew to not pay the bills until a certain date. She laughed and said I'd be billed later anyways. I felt like "I have cancer again, I could die this time with this huge growth. She's laughing at me." I know it was not personal, but forgive me, I'll never forget the feeling of thinking I might die and getting this is the response while asking for help. My health is poor after surviving breast cancer treatments in 2020 and they wrecked parts of my body but eradicated an aggressive form of breast cancer. I don't want to go into how bad the type is, but the odds are very bad with that type and they use the highest doses of their most aggressive chemo to eradicate the cancer. That's why I struggle and have gone to the ER twice in a couple years. But working out improves my condition, so it's essential. I'm so glad I found out a few days later that the current ER test was a misdiagnosis. I eventually received a big surgery, recovered and called in to sort out the bills that were waiting for me. Because I was experienced in navigating the disorganized billing practices, it was a smaller bill this time. I reached a teleservice rep who had her manager Mark look into it and it was fixed after 3 phone calls for a full refund. I know it's not personal. But I've decided that clearly this is not customer service at all. This is just workers, protecting themselves and the company and you just have to advocate super quick, do the footwork and calls and take notes, document, stay on it, trust nothing, stay positive and confirm and be persistent. Most businesses exhibit hospitality and customer service at an average level. Often if a medical incident occurs you'll get a compassionate response and excellent customer care. Not here, you will get compassion at first and solutions that fall through. Then they will lose confidence and be strained but still attempt to help. Eventually, it requires an escalation and manager intervention to correct the situation. The in-gym customer service experience will be good about situational things like everyday interactions. But if your issue has ANYTHING to do with billing, there is no safety net no matter how serious your medical situation. Had I only had a normal membership instead of a training membership too, I probably could have just canceled or never been the wiser. I'm actually hopeful no one ever has to experience this zone that they are weak at. But if you do, stay flexible, positive, and stay on it. Good luck and good health! I saw billing fees,

Currently there is a urinal out of order, it has been out of order for 3 months. Previously the only other urinal was out of order and had not been addressed or cleaned . It was disgusting. Stale urine sitting for weeks is not acceptable in a public restroom. I have encountered hair in the sinks, toothpaste on the countertop, unclean floors and the showers smell like mildew/mold. I would never use the showers or lockers for fear of disease or bugs. This facility is absolutely repulsive. Do better Planet Fitness Vallejo!

But every experience so far has been great! There's plenty of cardio machines available at all times. From what I've seen people are respectful and wipe down the equipment after use. The biggest bonus is you can bring a guest with you every time. It's like a two in one membership! In the multiples times I've been here I've only seen one machine out of service. Certain machines are very popular/almost always in use like the assisted pull up. I think there may only be one of those. There's a vending machine with drinks available. The people working at the front have been polite. Be warned there are signs not to leave any valuables in the lockers. Keep them with you at all times. Even in early-mid January this gym wasn't that crowded.

The front wheel makes a terrible clanging sound that is as disturbing to the people around me as it is to me. Please fix the machine promptly and seriously consider getting getting an additional one upstairs. For a fitness center of this size one more is the bare minimum. There are often people waiting to use this one frequently. Otherwise a great place to work out! The staff is friendly and it is clean and bright. .

I love the classes/instructors here (Roberto, Ari, Beth & Marta, Benny!) & the remodeled sauna! However I don't feel they are fully family friendly and more profit driven. My eldest daughter and I got in a fatal car accident last year. we both required surgery and as we recovered being able to return to moving our bodies we upgraded our plan so that we can bring a guest; recover, get stronger together. One evening we got stopped and blonde lady working at the front desk asked for her ID that she did not have on her so she said my daughter could not work out because she is underage (under 18) and to add her to our plan it would be an additional $40 per month! on top of the $80 we pay. Just imagine being told you can bring an extra person for an additional $10/month. Have been paying & bringing your child for months and then boom suddenly you can't. This is the second or third time I've had an issue here at Vallejo in Shape. I have 4 kids & carving out the time & coverage to consistently come to the gym- trying to keep my health first. I would like to just pay the fee & show up. The primary reason for me to add a guest to our plan is for safety especially at night or 5am when its dark and there is no sun out. I mean a 16 year old can work and drive but not work out for the same amount of a guest 18 or over? This just put a wrench in our lifestyle, health & safety. Truly disappointing. No longer highly motivated or excited to come to this gym anymore.

Pike Fitness had a pop-up at Vallejo 2nd Saturdays and I was working the booth right behind them…read more They had a jumping contest with a vertical jump trainer. I signed a waiver, which felt weird for something like that. Now I know why. Their shoddy equipment was set up in a low spot in the grass and was so unstable they had a staff member sit on it to keep it from tipping. There was also a bolt sticking out of the front. See attached photo for what a real vertical jump tester looks like (notice no bolt sticking out). When I jumped, I stepped forward slightly (not a run, there was barely room to move), and when I landed, that bolt sliced my pants and left an 8-inch cut up my thigh. I sat down at my booth, clearly injured. Two strangers came to check on me. Pike Fitness staff? Nothing. They saw me sit down, saw I was hurt, and completely ignored it. Later, I passed by their booth and mentioned I'd been cut. They acted like it was no big deal. Now they're responding saying I "ran and launched" myself and refused their help. Total lie. I stepped, I jumped, I got hurt, and they didn't care. They can try to blame me all they want, but their setup was dangerous and their staff was careless. A waiver doesn't excuse negligence. If this is how they operate in public, I wouldn't trust them inside a gym either. Avoid Pike Fitness.
