Took the pictures and during the selection, we liked one picture and the workers here liked another. There was a discussion between a natural smile (our pick) versus one with a clearer eyes (but a slight frown - their pick). They convinced us to choose the latter/their pick promising us to fix the frown via photoshop. When we picked up the photos, the picture didn't even look like our child. Then we asked for the original version since they butchered it and they asked for $30 extra for the files. So you're not going to have a discussion then you're going to do something against the customers wishes and then have them pay extra on top of that? There are so many photo studios in Ktown. The studio lighting made a huge difference and she was very patient while I fixed myself in the mirror. After looking through many different studios I decided on Studio 2000. We took a family photo while taking photos for her first birthday (dohl) and I cannot stress enough hoe difficult it was and yet the photographer and staff were very gentle and accommodating throughout the entire session. In total, we were probably there for 3+ hours. My daughter loathed the hanbok and cried until she turned blue. The lights flashing, strangers around her, and the nee environment really made her agitated. We decided to come back another day to continue the session and went downstairs to the food court for lunch. We noticed she was feeling a lot better and ran back upstairs to the studio asking if we can finish up the session now. They happily finished the session and left with smiles. There was a small mishap in communication and long story short I ended up driving from Thousand Oaks in heavy traffic and left empty-handed. However, they acknowledged their mistake and in the end provided what I needed and gifted me an extra photo for their inconvenience. Really great photography group. We have been doing 100 day and 1 year birthday photos as well as family portraits. This place is phenomenal and are very understanding about your needs. I always feel that they treat me well and they are not trying to nickel and dime. Some places do not let you have the large format photos but they were willing to work with us so that we could have the large edited photos. The prices were very fair. We are always impressed with their product. I have tried a competitor and I didn't have as good a customer experience. I highly recommend these guys for your photographic needs. read more

Overall very happy with my experience!! Went for a professional profile picture. My sister and mom got their passport photos here before and so that's how I knew of the place. For the profile picture they take a lot both sitting and standing and also let you change your hairstyle(tucking in or out of ears). The photographer took over 100 pictures and while taking the pictures gave lots if feedback (i.e. suggesting different smiles etc). After, you go through consecutive passes to pick the best shot which she edits (miraculously) and emails you the picture!! read more

At first, when I called them up, unlike other Koreatown studios, the service was very friendly! I even got my passport picture taken here and I am NEVER returning to Costco Passport pictures anymore. Here's the deal: 1. Photographer Huh is amazing. she knows the rules of passport photo inside and out. 2. The photo comes out beautifully and she'll take it again if you are not happy. 3. This lady.... has god gifted hand! she touches up your face in less than 10 sec. I can't even do that! and voila, you are 10 years younger! 4. All this... only took 5 min... I mean.. seriously? 5. Total for 4 photos....$10.... seriously? Wow... that's it? 6. Parking validated. BAM. Photographer Huh treated me very well. Instead of treating me as a competitor photographer, she welcomed me and even taught me some tips about equipments and photography. The Chinese Consulate's Office is 2-3 blocks away from Studio 2000, making this a very convenient stop if you are ever in need of passport photos. I was able to get in and out in about 10 minutes with 4 passport photos for $10.90. The staff is also obvious exports at this because they were knowledgeable about photo requirements for various VISAs and Passport applications. **tldr; DEFINITELY AVOID IF YOU ARE NOT KOREAN. On a surprising side note, what I realized from this ORDEAL is that if you are NOT a Korean speaker, definitely AVOID this place. As the owner regretfully sent the original, full-sized resolution file to my friend, she said to me in Korean; "I am only doing this for you because you are a Korean speaker." Regardless of what language one speaks, are you not supposed to treat your customers with the proper service that was promised and agreed upon by you and the customer? This business clearly failed to do so. As a Korean American, I was ultimately embarrassed for these two individuals that have tarnished the reputation of korean businesses for my friend. --- I dont write reviews but my experience here was DISGUSTING I had to write one. Came in here with a non-Korean speaking friend who needed a digital passport photo. What I thought to be quick and simple procedure turned out to be a big EMBARRASSMENT as I witnessed the most UNPROFESSIONAL and DISHONEST business practice I have ever seen. We told them we only needed a digital copy and these were the prices that they originally told us: $10 for 2 photos and for 4 physical prints $30 for 2 photos and only ONE digital copies by email Doesn't it seem counter intuitive that the prints, which require special photograph paper and ink, are 3X cheaper than the digital copies which require nothing? After reading the positive reviews for this place, we were not too concerned about the exaggerated prices, although we found other studios that provided digital passport photos at a fraction of the cost. We decided to take the photos at this studio because we expected easy and professional service as stated by other reviews. But we were wrong. The photographer seemed to be in her 50s and I assume that she was the owner. She took no longer than 10 seconds to take two shots of my friend. When my friend asked her if he could take extra 1 or 2 more photos, since we were the only customers there at the time and they did not seem busy, so that he can choose the best out of them, the photographer smirked at us and said: "this is not a volunteering center." She could have said this in a polite way that it would be an additional charge. Rude. Once my friend paid the exaggerated and ridiculous price of $30 for ONE DIGITAL COPY out of the 2 photos he took, another lady (in her mid 20s) emailed him the photo. We expected to get a full resolution photo that we should get from a "PROFESSIONAL" photo studio, however, when my friend opened the photo, the resolution was so heavily lowered that any photoshop would make the photo look broken. It was obvious that they had lowered the quality before sending is the photo. The photo was not even 1MB. The quality of the photo for the price we paid was so mediocre that we questioned why not just set up a studio at home and take a photo with an iPhone, which would still have better quality than what we received. Hilarious. We asked the lady why the photo that she had sent us was not in the original resolution and then she tells us bluntly that we needed to pay an extra $50 if we wanted the FULL, original resolution. She did NOT mention this prior to our payment. This was totally ridiculous and once we started arguing with them why she had not told us this before, the lady just rolled her eyes and gave us attitude. She then started talking to the other woman very rudely of us in Korean, and I guess she did not realize that I spoke Korean at that time. She began to raise her voice which was UNNECESSARY AND UNPROFESSIONAL, and that led to my friend raising his voice once he realized the situation would not be resolved. Then, the woman (probably the owner) began raising her voice and tried to make us to leave without receiving what we had paid for. To give the benefit of the doubt, I will assume that there must have been some miscommunication on both parties. Rather than trying to resolve the issue as any just business would do, this business literally tried to kick us out after receiving our payment in an act of blatant robbery. I had a worst experience in my life in this place. People in this studio were RUDE, IRRESPONSIBLE, and UNPROFESSIONAL either. They've changed their words before and after contract and tried to fool the customer by using inarticulate words in the contract. When we demanded an explanation, they've admitted that there had been a miscommunication in the contract, but said that they are still not responsible for anything at all. Moreover, the owner of the studio came out and told her employers to send us back. In other word, she literally tried to kick her customers out when she knows that we spent our whole morning to get ready for this picture day (that's been contracted a week ago!) with hundreds of dollars spent for our hair, dress, and everything!!! We just waled out after we found another studio immediately with half the price of this studio with better offer in 3 minutes of researching in mobile. The saled price this studio offered for a family picture in size around 16"x24" was about $600 with a frame, with all other pics in a CD, but we did get to have about 20"x30" family picture with a frame+ 4 other pictures "PRINTED" and "FRAMED" with a similar price. Again, the worst thing is that this owner actually did tell her customers to go back home when she saw her customers dressed up with all the hair setup just for this picture day. RUDE, IRRESPONSIBLE, and UNPROFESSIONAL. Just spend 3 minutes to research for another studio for much better experience in your life. read more

Def a fan! I just called to make sure that they can take Canadian passport photos as the specs are slightly different from US ones. They were already aware and very confident so I ran over. I was in and out in 10 minutes, there's a huge parking lot and they validate parking; it's in the same building as Natura spa. A hidden gem of the 3rd floor at the Koreatown Plaza. The family and I arrived around 2 clk in the afternoon during peak business hours on saturday. The photography staff was extremely kind and welcoming. I enjoyed the customer service and most importantly the assistance of our 1 year old daughter's (Tor) Han-bok dress session. The dress was a perfect fit and no difficulties. The staff was very helpful in getting our daughter to perform for that "perfectly cute" picture. It's a great place to have professional photos done. Walked in, emailed my headshot (USB wasn't working, my fault), they uploaded it, printed it, and handed it to me innnnn less than five minutes? I was under the impression that the cost was $10.70 for four passport pictures based on a yelp review that I read which I thought was very reasonable but when I got there I asked how much and was told it was $20 for four passport pictures. $20 is the highest I've seen anywhere in Los Angeles for passport pictures. But because I was already there I paid and got them. The pictures and service were good and overall I'm satisfied with them. They do some touch up to make your pictures look even better. If I could give Studio 2000 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat. I needed a photo for my medical school applications and wanted it to look professional. I also wanted to take some pictures during my prime (I am 25, getting older every day!) but felt too embarrassed and ashamed of appearing pompous or the fear of spending money on photos and inevitably receiving ugly photos depicting my true self. I made an appointment and stalled- for a very long time. I repeatedly changed my mind and asked the same question over and over in my embarrassment of wanting to have pictures taken of myself. Despite taking up much of time of the the ladies that work here, they were very patient and kind as they explained the packages that I could choose from. Photography is a pricey business- especially if you get a good photographer with the right equipment and knowledge of light and shadow. I had a fun time posing despite my awkward nature, and am more than satisfied (more like the ecstatic) with the photos that I received. Thanks to the wonderful staff here, I had an enjoyable evening and made some lasting memories that the future me will surely thank the me from the past. We had to do our youngest 1 year Korean picture and unfortunately the place we had our eldests done moved out of state. Studio 2000 was the only place in such a hurry to offer these type of pictures, as I needed them done in a pinch to bring back for my in laws to Korea end of this month. I was so optimistic and positive going in however the energy quickly shifted. The photographer did not have a good vibe. She didn't try to let my daughter warm up nor was she engaging, instead it became overbearing to my two daughters. It was in a mall, so no natural lighting and lots of flash that really distracted and blinded our kids. Still, the photographer just kept snapping away and was stubborned to listen to our suggestions. I'm with my girls 24/7 and know them best. They wanted my husband near my youngest when she was crying and reaching for me, however I was instructed to stay in the back but complained about her crying and wouldn't let me console her?! They wouldn't listen and wanted to do the typical corny poses that my husband and I didn't like. We ourselves do not like to take pictures, so we wanted someone we both felt comfortable in. Finally they let us do one pose and even though the pictures aren't great, it's what we suggested that happens to be the only great photo there is. I felt overall I could have done a better job at it myself. It felt so rushed, in n out within less than a hour. Please do yourself a favor and do not go here. The end product and service they provide is not anything special. If the people coming here really need passport pictures take yourself to Walgreens, guarantee you the workers there won't have bad breath and be all in your face trying to sell you more. I'm glad I stuck with the basic package and was really contemplating on upgrading but decided to hold off.
