What more could you ask for from a dentist. I have a night guard and they allow me to bring it in for a good cleaning when I come in every 6 months for my regular cleaning. Not being blessed with great teeth, I recall the early days of my visits to the dentist's office. The dreaded dental drills that were dangling by an array of cantilever arms and pulleys that appeared they could double as an aerobatic array for "The Flying Wallendas." A dental drilling assembly that in all probably was being driven by the same mechanical system as the foot-pedal treadle sewing machine in use by my grandmother at the time. Local anesthesia, that the dentist assured you would certainly numb the tooth, was soon followed by the dreaded words "this won't hurt." Dread and horrific piercing pain were my constant companions when visiting the dentist's office. Fortunately, those days are over. The modern drills and anesthetics of today WORK, and a visit to the dentist's office is without the trials and tribulations of the past. Those modern tools in the hands of a seasoned professional like Doctor "Jake" make a visit to his office a pleasant experience. I was referred by my dentist in Washington to whom I was referred by my daughter. Since my arrival in the valley almost 12 years ago Jake has been our family dentist, and when I find a great dentist, I will refer those I know and care about. Jake and his staff have performed just about every dental procedure possible on my teeth, heck I could be the poster boy featured in a dental publication for aftermarket parts and procedures. All kidding aside, Jake and the staff are true professionals, positive, understanding, and they listen. They appreciate that every patient is an individual with differing cares, concerns and a dental history and treat them accordingly. Professional, proficient, personable, and patient oriented. I don't have any complaints about the front…read moredesk reception, as that was the most professional within the whole practice, BUT as far as the back office staff from the X-ray tech to the dentist, it couldn't be more lacking in professionalism!! The X-ray tech must have been new and still training on the job, as she continued to try and do X-rays with the old mouth plates from years past, and proceeded to repeat over and over again, not being able to get proper images. I have a protrusion on the roof of my mouth that I was born with called a torus palatinus; not all that uncommon, and that should have been her first sign that it was going to be more difficult to take X-rays in the manner she continued to try numerous times. It wasn't until I asked her if they had the newer X-ray technique where the X-ray machine circles the head and gets the images that way. WELL, lo and behold they did and I finally got them taken the way they should have from the very beginning. The dentist finally came in to see me following the xrays, and if my intuition was correct, she was tired & exhausted and really didn't want to see another patient. She proceeded to start the exam, DID NOT INTRODUCE herself, poked around for a very short time then told me l needed to see a periodontist. Needless to say, I am seeking a 2nd opinion. I am a retired RN and I was shocked at the lack of professionalism within that office. Anyone who takes the time to read my review among others in regard to this practice, I suggest run fast and far to another dental practice before you go here.
