It is several hours long which can be hard for young kids to sit through. But it is fun to see the kids show what they have learned and get comfortable in front of crowds. The Dance Academy shares a business with a preschool which two of my kids have attended. It has been a great way for the kids to prepare for kindergarten and meet new friends.

We always traveled with the group and had a great time. I have never come across a more genuine, caring and giving person. After reading some of the reviews I am broken hearted that people are posting these outright lies because I know Heidi and I feel that someone very ugly is behind this. When my daughter couldn't participate in the normal way for one production, they found another way for her to not only be included, but to feel valued. I love that they have an amazing homeschool program along with their after school classes. They also have private lessons and sewing classes! They make their own costumes and are great at teaching kids to sew through fun and professional projects. They did an absolutely FANTASTIC job - performing with all their heart on a black-floored stage with the setting sun blaring at them in triple digit heat!! What a show!! They all danced and tumbled and even SANG!! They had lovely voices and performed contemporary tunes as well as some classics! I especially loved their Abba tribute! What a phenomenal show! The company also has a theater in town where they put on all sorts of plays and shows - and even major productions like Les Misérables and High School Musical! They also offer all kinds of dance lessons, singing and acting too. They even have aerial silks classes - which even my adult son has done a few times - he loves it as a good workout - he says it kicks his butt haha! Anytime I come to town to visit my son, I always try to catch anything this company is putting on - the owners are awesome people - they work hard and are so talented! We used the space for the first time for a group of 10 adults for a ceramics painting activity. The ceramics were to be glazed and baked after we left. We were directed to put our initials on the bottom of the piece, then as we checked out the initials were entered into the computer and attached to a list of our pieces. It seems as if the business is good at making sure the correct pieces stay with the person they're supposed to. At the beginning of the process an employee directed us on the process, which was relaxed and fun. After a description of the different kinds of paints, the time is open free time to paint as you'd like. The employees are available for questions if needed. For 10 adults the activity ended up being $288.77, so an average of just under $30 apiece. That price will be marginally different for all groups depending on the pieces they pick to passing. Definitely worth a fun, different activity and cute little space. I'd do it again.

There hasn't been a scale for at least two months. This is gym after all, why would you need a scale? But those annoyances compared to the total lack of janitorial services. When I got there this morning I told them there was no toilet paper. After I worked out and went back into the locker room there is a poor guy stuck in the stall yelling for help... Still no toilet paper. There is no trash can in the bathroom/locker room, the showers are almost always out of soap, and worst of all the flower area is disgusting. I have no idea how often it gets cleaned, but it is apparent the answer is rarely. I have mentioned all these things to staff multiple times and only get a shoulder shrug or an excuse. Why do I go there you ask? Fair question. In two weeks I am moving and will no longer attend Vasa. I just haven't wanted to go through a new initiation with a different gym when I knew I was moving. Join Vasa at your own risk.
