However, the management is simply atrocious and unforgiving, especially considering this is for K-12 dancers who have other commitments. In November of 2012, I was accepted to go tour Washington, D.C. on scholarship with my United States Representative. Obviously, that's an incredible and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Unfortunately, it meant that I was going to miss a Ward Christmas party performance. I told the management in October about my trip. Nothing was done about it and two weeks before the performance, they were scrambling to find someone to learn my position. Instead of cooperating with me, I was replaced on the High School team that I had tried out for and paid to be on by two Jr. High girls (the daughter of the costumer and her best friend) not only for the performance that I missed and the following concert (which I would have understood, because I missed the penultimate practice as well), but for the remainder of the year. It was absurd. Despite my complaints, the manager would do nothing. In addition to this, my brother joined a team for a semester in 2012. The coach decided to choreograph in a somersault... at 6'1", my brother's physique is not able to easily do somersaults. He was hurting himself just trying. The coach wouldn't change the choreography to accommodate his team, and the manager would only lecture my brother for not doing it. Eventually my brother was literally kicked off of the team because he wouldn't 'cooperate.' I would look elsewhere for ballroom dance lessons.

Those years covered many different maturity levels and the drama associated with teenage life added lots of opportunities to grow both socially and physically. The staff at DCB were always there to partner with us in parenting our kids through incredible dance seasons. DCB is a great place to learn and also coach your kids in their talents.

She does correct the students and she very much teaches technique which helps them improve. On a soccer/basketball/football team the coaches correct the players so why can't a dance teacher? For students to progress they need correction. Once again, none of my girls have ever cried and they look forward to dance each week. They come home and show me what they have learned. I recommend her if you want your child to learn the technique of classic dance.

LaRae is aweful to the girls. She spends more time telling than teaching, degrading than lifting…read moreup, and criticizing than promoting. Eventually, your girl will get a tough skin, but why would you want your eight year old to cry during each class till she is used to it. Her website claims, "The school demands the best of each student, expecting that each student work to his or her highest potential. In return, the school gives the care and attention each student deserves." The demand part is true, maybe a little too high for an 8 year old that is just learning, but the care and attention portion is 100% false. The website brags about many girls going on to do auditions to amazing schools but the only one mentioned on the website by name is the owner. Which makes me wonder if it is one child that did all these amazing things or has a really been many girls doing these amazing things. And is it their natural talent, or is LaRae's horrible attitude and demands to " fix it !" really helping these girls?

My kids are still at this ballet school!! By the end of the 24-25 season they will be 9 and 11. I…read moreenrolled them as soon as they turned 3 for the upcoming season. The school is now in its 10th year of business. My girls have done well in elementary school. They never struggled with reading or math, or making friends at school. I do believe enrolling them in a good ballet school has a lot to do with it because ballet teaches memorization, repetition, practice, confidence, be social, and permission to be creative. Highly recommend this place for your child. Older students are respectful and good role models around the younger students. Everything at the school from costumes, choreography, and music are age appropriate At the younger levels it's more of music and movement lessons, getting kids to enjoy dancing and overcome stage fright. As they get older they stay in class longer learning more ballet. The school now offers acro and musical dance theater as add-ons to ballet lessons. They also do Disneyland parade trips, you don't have to be a student at the school for the Disneyland parade. Haven't done the Disneyland trips yet or MDT but the girls do like acro. My favorite though is... END OF YEAR RECITAL The end of year summer recital is NOT TO BE MISSED. 5 star, 2 thumbs up. Each production gets better and better each year! If you never enroll your kids here, at minimum go to the CBC end of year show, well worth your time to go. It is usually held the 3rd weekend in June for two nights. Location varies but they will put that info out on their instagram page. The CBC productions are fun and kid friendly, since they dance to music from Disney movies but also have nods to excerpts from traditional ballet productions of Alice & Wonderland, Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, Rapunzel & Aladdin! The owner is a professional choreographer, so instead of just seeing routines of each & every class one after the other, the owner integrates several levels together in some of the performances during the show; younger students would be like the corps de ballet doing their dance while the older students do their solos and pas de deux. You need to watch in person to understand this. It is beautiful and unforgettable to watch, just like a professional ballet production. I'm impressed with the creativity and thought put into all the performances. Several of our family and friends come out to attend and say they enjoy it better than watching a Broadway show, hah! Obviously it's student run, they're not professionals but they have so much joy performing and work very hard to prepare. Absolutely buy tickets to support the students who work so hard and dance for the joy and artistry of it.

I loved dancing there, to this day it's the best ballet and contemporary dance instruction I have received. I have made very valuable friends and unforgettable memories at this dance studio! All of the instructors are amazing and give constructive criticism individually so that each dancer can improve and feel that all the instructors genuinely want us to evolve and become amazing dancers. It is a wonderful environment here because there isn't any unhealthy competition between each other and I know from talking to others and from personal experience that the days when we had class were the best days of the week! I can't wait to go back and visit, I would definitely recommend Classical Ballet Conservatory to anyone and everyone!
