Anywho, we came for the fudge cuz I'm too cheap to pay shipping when I can just fly from NoDak to St Louis, rent a car for $60/day filled with $5/gallon fuel to drive 3hrs then need a hotel - MFer... We got 4 kinds (Lemon Bar / Dark Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt - top pick / Peanut Butter / Chocolate) plus some interesting taffy. The mango chile is delish & the dill pickle was a winner. Yeah, explains WHY we went, hmm. The cashier kicked back good banter. I was pleasantly surprised given other reviews that staff interaction was forced and obnoxious. The fudge? Yeah, it really is good!

The store is so cute! The mix of nostalgic candy, rare finds, antiques, ice cream, coffee, and bulk items can be overwelming, but in a positive way. It is almost like a candy / treat store and a museum all in one. On this trip, I got some coffee sample packets for my husband's Easter basket, a frappe for each of us, and a couple of candies for the household. The shop is bursting with products, so the aisles are a bit tight for passing people stopped to check out the fun products. Caledonia is a charming little village with shops, eats, and several outdoor adventures in the area.

When we visited, it was decorated for Christmas, giving it a cozy, vintage holiday vibe. The shelves were filled with childhood candies (even candy cigarettes). They also have an impressive selection of coffees from around the world -- and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. The handmade ice cream bar is a must-try. We ordered an ice cream flight with five samples, perfect for sharing since we couldn't decide on just one of the many delicious flavors. The assortment of chocolates looked amazing too. Upstairs, you can stroll through a collection of antiques that add even more charm to the place. We really enjoyed our visit -- it's a place that makes you slow down, take it all in, and maybe leave with a few extra treats you didn't plan on.

I had a packet of Chocolate Covered Pretzels and another packet containing a Chocolate Covered Oreo. Typically I was a glass of cold milk with my Oreo, but this one from the Candy Factory was perfect just being dipped in chocolate. The pretzels gave me a nice mix of savory and sweet. The two pack had one dipped in Milk Chocolate and another in, White Chocolate. I surprised myself, by liking the White Chocolate best. It seemed to have a sweeter taste, which went well with the salty pretzel. While out exploring downtown Columbia, I stopped by to give their Chocolate Covered Strawberries a tasting. OMG - so good. The chocolate shell had a good crunch and the berry was super juicy. I feel bad that I did not, take a picture of the deliciousness. The customer service was attentive and the associates were eager to recommend their favorites. If you love chocolate, you gotta stop by Candy Factory.

We've been shopping here for years for ourselves and for gift giving and have never been disappointed. For the quality, the prices are not too bad either, you have the option to either buy individual items or order by the pound (around $20 a pound last I checked). The service is always friendly and helpful, and the store is nice and cozy. Highly recommended!
