CHARLESTON MUSIC HALL - ONE OF THE BEST VENUES IN CHARLESTON!…read more We've been to the Charleston Music Hall quite a few times over the years, and somehow I've never gotten around to leaving them a review -- so it's definitely time! We were back again Saturday night to see The Fab Four Beatles tribute, and what an absolutely incredible show. It also reminded me just how much we love this venue. The Charleston Music Hall is such a great place to see a concert or show. It has that beautiful historic Charleston character, the atmosphere is fantastic, and one of the things I really love is that there honestly doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. The views are great from the main floor as well as the balcony, and the size of the venue makes everything feel much more intimate than going to a huge arena. We've attended several different events here over the years, and it's always been a great experience. They bring in an awesome variety of bands, tribute acts, comedians, shows and other entertainment, so it's definitely worth keeping an eye on their calendar. Another huge plus is the location. You're right in downtown Charleston and surrounded by some of the best restaurants, pubs and bars in the city, so it's incredibly easy to turn a show into an entire night out. Grab dinner beforehand, enjoy the show, then walk somewhere nearby afterward for a drink -- which is exactly what we love doing! Our night seeing The Fab Four was another perfect example. Fantastic seats, an incredible performance and a great atmosphere from beginning to end. If you live in Charleston or you're visiting and see something on the schedule that interests you, GO! This is one of those venues that really adds something special to the experience. Five stars and three thumbs up from us! Highly recommend the Charleston Music Hall -- one of our favorite places in Charleston to catch a show!

To me, a five star rating is a given to a business that exemplifies passion, inspiration and strong…read morecommitment to its customers. Midtown Productions exhibits all these traits. Led by a career theater patron, performer and owner, Sheri and her team truly believes in the art of live theater. It has a responsibility to entertain, educate and derive emotional connection. Their actors and selection of plays each season are selected to be diverse, engaging and find a way to connect with the audience. Structured in cabaret style seating, a staff of workers and volunteers that go above and beyond to make you feel at home and strong intimate performances, Midtown is a gift to the Charleston area community. Offering champagne, wine, sodas and maybe coffee if you ask nicely, along with cheese and meat snacks, this is a complete evening out. The location on the outside may fool you because it is a little out of the way on a remote business road. If you are familiar with the area, it is right next to Striped Pig Distillery. If you have not been part of a performance at Midtown, I highly recommend it.

Several Months ago we saw 'Jesus Christ Superstar'-- an afternoon performance with junior student…read morecast... What an experience! The energy of that performance equaled the original on Broadway we saw on Broadway. Today's performance of 'It's Only A Play' was a joy! My sides are still aching from the jokes, fun and foolishness + loads so improve lines. Well Done Guys... such energy. My pals were a bit suspect when we drove just past a plain looking building in the heart of the warehouse district of Azalea Dr. It's @1/4 Mile off I-26 /Exit 216/Cosgrove Rd. The parking lot looks tiny, but don't be fooled, there's plenty of room. Once inside, you'll meet a bunch of friendly folks. Will Call was a breeze & the barkeep gets three cheers-- good drinks, a joke or two and a tapas plate of cheeses, fruit and chiros. There isn't a bad seat in the house. Great set on a raised stage + excellent sound system for us old geezers. Audience were a mix of young and old. Now let's get to the play-- you missed a fun time if you didn't see it... that is all... mike drop Your next shot is coming with PLAID TIDINGS a Holiday Musical December 1-17; the Sondheim's COMPANY a dark comedy about leaving bachelorhood behind. And, NO I'm not connected with the show-- they were just that good and I enjoy small local theater.
