She encouraged us to book a full appointment, so we did. We then had a 90-minute appointment that consisted mostly of discussing our daughter's medical history and current health issues, but no treatment plan or concrete recommendations were provided. The only action taken was ordering a blood draw. It took a full week just to receive the requisition form, something our other doctors always provide the same or next day. When the requisition finally arrived, we noticed tests were ordered that we had specifically said were not needed (such as cortisol and thyroid panels), because our daughter's endocrinologist regularly monitors those. After the blood draw, communication essentially stopped. We emailed a week later asking if results had been received and also asked for guidance ordering a stool test, mentioning that we wanted to schedule our next appointment once that was done and also mentioning that our daughter isn't doing well. We never received any reply. Even after blood results were available and uploaded in our patient portal, there was no follow-up, and no review of the findings, even though there were some abnormal blood markers. The office simply never contacted us again. Given the lack of communication, lack of guidance, and absence of a treatment plan, we cannot recommend this provider. We felt our daughter was ultimately abandoned without any follow-through despite her not feeling well and our attempt to move forward with care.

We proceeded with a PRP injection, which I learned that there was actual homework/prep work for me to do BEFORE the treatment that the hip MD didn't even tell me about! Such things like stopping NSAIDs, drinking, fasting, etc. to help make the PRP injection more successful. I would not have known this if it weren't for Dr. Ferrante. The injection went smoothly and I experienced significant pain relief. I will return to do the other hip now that I know how successful it is. I know PRP injections are expensive, but definitely worth the price (insurance doesn't pay for them thru a MD anyways). She made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as you can- these injections are sore) thru out the procedure, and increased my trust by providing me with a lot of information about what to expect before/during/after, and of course following up. Of note, when I came in for a hip follow up, she noticed I had a wrist brace on, and took initiative to inquire about this new injury and brainstormed a special taping to help offload/support the area (again, something that the orthopedic PA didn't think about) which also provided more stability/less pain for my wrist. She offered another treatment option for it if occupational therapy didn't help. As someone on a fixed income; this MATTERS. Aloha original review: I was excited to see Dr. Lipat from her website, reviews etc. but was very disappointed when I actually saw her in person ...WHY? Because she says she is a chiropractor as well as energy healing, etc.--so I expected a more thorough evaluation and varied treatment. But after telling her I had a health challenge and was just coming off traditional treatment, wanting to get my energy back, and that my neck was out and hurting...she informed me she only does mainly 'energy healing' now. So, I lay down for her session, only to realize she was reading a form, doing vague muscle testing and going down a list I assume was for every patient. She checked what was good/not etc from that. She READ prepared affirmations then, for an hour? Then sprayed me with some Bach flower remedies. All I got out of this very $$$ (170.00) hour was a guided meditation I could have done at home. I gave her a hug and HOPED somehow she DID something. The staff member who initially gathered my information was absolutely wonderful. He was kind, patient, and welcoming, which immediately put me at ease. My provider, Marilee Kuulei Owens, FNP, was exceptional. She took the time to sit with me, talk with me, and truly listen. I never once felt dismissed or rushed, and I deeply appreciated that she did not immediately attribute all of my concerns solely to my weight - something that can unfortunately happen far too often. Instead, she asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully, and answered every question I had with care and respect. My first visit was an incredibly positive experience. Two weeks later, I returned for my well-woman visit, something that gives me a great deal of anxiety. Ms. Owens was amazing at helping to ease that anxiety the best she could and the nurse who assisted during the appointment was equally kind, gentle, and reassuring. The entire experience was handled with such compassion and professionalism that I honestly couldn't imagine having wanted anyone else.
